Disciple of Prayer
What is the point of life if you have no choices? God's plan was for me was to live in a small box for all my life. I'm tired of asking and praying. All I wanted to do was gymnastics. What is the point of justice if there is none?

We hear the deep pain and frustration in your words, and we want you to know that your cry has not gone unnoticed. The weariness in your heart is real, and the questions you’re asking are heavy—questions about purpose, justice, and the weight of living within limits that feel unbearable. We stand with you before the Lord, lifting up your struggle and asking Him to meet you in this place of exhaustion.

First, we must address the despair in your words with truth from Scripture. You ask, *"What is the point of life if you have no choices?"* But the Bible tells us that even in our limitations, God has given us the greatest choice of all—the choice to trust Him. In Deuteronomy 30:19-20, God says, *"I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Choose life, that you and your offspring may live, loving the Lord your God, obeying his voice, and holding fast to him."* Even when our circumstances feel like a small box, our hearts still have the freedom to choose where to place our hope. And that hope is not in our own strength or the fulfillment of our desires, but in Christ, who holds all things together (Colossians 1:17).

You say, *"God’s plan for me was to live in a small box for all my life."* But we must gently challenge this idea. God’s plans for you are not meant to crush you—they are meant to shape you into the image of His Son. Jeremiah 29:11 says, *"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future."* This does not mean life will be easy or that every dream will be fulfilled in the way we imagine. But it does mean that God is not indifferent to your pain. He sees the longing in your heart to do gymnastics, to move freely, to experience joy in the things you love. And He invites you to bring that longing to Him—not as a demand, but as an offering, trusting that He knows what is best.

You also ask, *"What is the point of justice if there is none?"* This is a profound question, one that many have wrestled with throughout history. The Bible does not shy away from the reality of injustice—it acknowledges it and points us to the One who will one day make all things right. In Ecclesiastes 3:16-17, Solomon writes, *"I saw under the sun, in the place of justice, that wickedness was there; and in the place of righteousness, that wickedness was there. I said in my heart, 'God will judge the righteous and the wicked; for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.'" Justice may not always be visible in this life, but we are called to trust that God sees, God knows, and God will act. Until then, we are called to seek justice where we can (Micah 6:8) and to leave the rest in His hands.

Now, about your weariness in praying: we understand how exhausting it can be to keep bringing the same requests before God, especially when the answers seem silent or the doors remain closed. But we want to encourage you with the words of Jesus in Luke 18:1, *"He spoke a parable to them, that they must always pray, and not give up."* Prayer is not a transaction where we demand results—it is a relationship where we pour out our hearts before a Father who loves us. Even when we don’t see the answers, we can trust that He is working (Isaiah 64:4). And sometimes, the answer is not the fulfillment of our desires, but the strengthening of our faith.

We also want to gently address the absence of Jesus’ name in your words. The Bible makes it clear that there is no other name by which we can approach God or find salvation. Acts 4:12 says, *"There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6), and it is only through Him that we can come boldly before the throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16). If you have not yet placed your trust in Him as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to consider what it means to surrender your life to Him. This is not about religion or rituals—it is about a relationship with the One who loves you so much that He gave His life for you (John 3:16).

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear one who is feeling trapped, weary, and full of questions. Lord, You see the pain in their words, the longing in their heart, and the exhaustion in their spirit. We ask that You would meet them in this place of struggle and remind them that they are not alone. Help them to see that even in their limitations, You are at work, shaping them into who You created them to be.

Father, we pray against the lies of the enemy that tell them their life has no purpose or that their dreams are forever out of reach. Remind them of Your promises—that You have plans for them, plans for peace and not for harm, to give them a hope and a future. Give them the strength to keep trusting You, even when the answers are not what they hoped for.

Lord, we ask that You would fill them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding. Help them to find joy in the small moments, to see Your hand at work even in the things they cannot control. And if they have not yet placed their trust in Jesus, we pray that You would draw them to Yourself, that they would know the hope and salvation that comes only through Him.

We rebuke the spirit of despair and hopelessness in the name of Jesus, and we declare that this one is not forgotten or abandoned. You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Strengthen their faith, renew their hope, and remind them that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28).

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We want to leave you with this encouragement: Your life has value not because of what you can do or achieve, but because of who God says you are—His beloved creation, made in His image (Genesis 1:27). Even when the path feels narrow or the dreams seem out of reach, God is with you. Keep seeking Him, keep trusting Him, and keep bringing your heart before Him. He is faithful, and He will not leave you to walk this road alone.

We see you, dear one, and we're here with you. We understand the feeling of being trapped, the weariness that comes from unanswered prayers, and the frustration of feeling like life's a small box. But remember, even in the smallest of spaces, we can choose to trust in God's love and plan for us.

You asked, "What's the point of life if there are no choices?" But even when our circumstances feel limited, we have the choice to trust in God's goodness and purpose. He's not indifferent to your dreams of gymnastics or your longing for freedom. He sees, He cares, and He invites you to bring these desires to Him, trusting that He knows what's best.

You also questioned the point of justice when it seems absent. We believe in a God who sees all, who knows all, and who will one day make all things right. Until then, we're called to trust Him and seek justice where we can.

Keep praying, dear one. Even when answers aren't what we expect, God is at work. He's not silent; He's just not always speaking in the way we anticipate. Trust in His love and His plan.

And remember, your life has purpose and value because you are God's beloved creation. Keep seeking Him, keep trusting Him, and keep bringing your heart before Him. He's faithful, and He won't leave you to walk this road alone.

Let's pray together, dear one. In Jesus' name, we ask God to meet you in your struggle, to remind you of His love and His promises, and to fill you with His peace. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
