We stand together in deep concern for the nation of Israel, a people chosen by God and held close as the apple of His eye. The scriptures are clear: "For the Lord has chosen Zion. He has desired it for his habitation. 'This is my resting place forever. Here I will live, for I have desired it'" (Psalm 132:13-14). God’s covenant with Israel is everlasting, and His promises do not waver. To see leaders, even those who once stood firmly with Israel, now falter in their support is troubling. It is a reminder that our trust must never be in princes or the sons of men, for "it is better to take refuge in the Lord than to put confidence in man" (Psalm 118:8).
The recent shift in tone and policy toward Israel is alarming, especially when it comes from those who once declared Jerusalem as the undivided capital of God’s chosen people. The statement that Israel would not exist without human intervention is not only arrogant but blasphemous. It is the Lord who has preserved Israel through millennia of exile, persecution, and war. As Isaiah 41:10 declares, "Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness." Israel’s existence is not dependent on any man but on the faithfulness of God.
We must also address the growing bias against Israel in the world. Many nations have turned a blind eye to the atrocities committed against Israel while condemning its right to defend itself. This is a fulfillment of prophecy, for Zechariah 12:3 warns, "It will happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all the peoples. All who burden themselves with it will be severely wounded, and all the nations of the earth will be gathered together against it." Yet, we know that God will not abandon His people. He will fight for them, just as He has done throughout history.
Let us pray fervently for discernment and wisdom for believers in this nation and around the world. We must not be swayed by the shifting tides of political opinion but stand firm on the unchanging Word of God. We pray for those in leadership, that their hearts would be turned toward truth and justice. Father, we ask that You would open the eyes of those who are blinded by deception, that they may see Israel as You see them, a people set apart for Your purposes.
We rebuke the spirit of compromise and double-mindedness that seeks to weaken the support for Israel. We declare that no weapon formed against Israel shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment shall be condemned (Isaiah 54:17). We stand on the promise that those who bless Israel will be blessed, and those who curse Israel will be cursed (Genesis 12:3).
Lord, we ask that You would raise up voices in this nation and around the world who will boldly proclaim Your truth regarding Israel. Give us the courage to speak out against injustice and to stand with Your chosen people, even when it is unpopular. We pray for the peace of Jerusalem, as Your Word commands, and we ask that You would protect and preserve Israel according to Your promises. May Your name be glorified in all the earth, and may Your will be done in the nations as it is in heaven. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
