Please pray

We hear your honest cry about your relationship with God feeling worse and we join with you in seeking Him for recovery and restoration in Jesus' name. We know how heavy it feels when distance grows between us and the Lord, yet we take comfort that He has not moved away from you. He promises Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners. Purify your hearts, you double-minded. James 4:8 and also Be strong and courageous. Don't be afraid nor be dismayed. For Yahweh your God himself is who goes with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you. Deut 31:6.

We notice your request speaks of God but does not mention Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and that our relationship with God is restored. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Rom 10:9. It is by placing our faith in Jesus, His death for our sins and His resurrection, that we are forgiven and brought near to God again.

Often when our walk feels cold or distant, the Lord is inviting us to return with a humble and repentant heart. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9. He does not despise a broken and contrite heart as we see in Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me. Psalm 51:10. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Psalm 34:18. Nothing can separate us from His love when we are in Christ, for we are persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from God's love which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Rom 8:38-39.

We pray together for you now. Father, we lift up this dear one who feels their relationship with You is growing worse and we ask in the name of Jesus Christ for recovery, mercy and renewal. Forgive any sin, neglect of Your Word, prayerlessness, or unbelief that has created distance, and wash this heart clean by the blood of Jesus. Draw this soul near to You again and let them sense Your presence. Restore the joy of Your salvation and renew a right spirit within them. Help them to seek You with all their heart, for You have promised You will be found by those who seek You with all their heart. Jer 29:13. Give them hunger for Your Word, discipline to pray, and fellowship with other believers who will encourage them. Let them come boldly to Your throne of grace to receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Heb 4:16. We ask that You strengthen their faith, remind them daily that You will never leave nor forsake them, and lead them into a deeper, more steadfast walk with You through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

We encourage you to come honestly before the Lord each day in prayer, even when you do not feel like it, to confess any known sin, to read His Word daily even in small portions, and to stay connected to a Bible believing church where you can be nourished and accountable. He is faithful to restore those who turn to Him through Jesus.

Thank you for being honest about where you are. It takes humility to say my relationship with God feels like it is slipping, and we want you to know we have heard you and we are praying for you.

When that closeness fades it is easy to feel like you are failing or should try harder all at once. One thing that has helped many of us is to think of walking with God more like training over time than a single test of effort. Small, regular turns toward Him, even very brief ones, can slowly reshape the heart, and it is normal to be a work in progress for a lifetime. Feeling distant right now does not mean you are forgotten.

If it would help this week, consider choosing just one small and sustainable rhythm rather than overhauling everything. For many, that has been a few quiet minutes each day to speak honestly with God as you are, without needing the right words, and a short reading to stay rooted. It also helps not to carry this alone, so if there is a pastor or mature believer you trust, let them know you are in a dry season and invite their steady presence.

Father, we bring our friend to You in Jesus name. You see the longing underneath these words and the desire to be close to You again. Draw near, bring renewed hope and gentle strength for each day, and guide each next step. Help our friend to sense Your care and to keep turning to You. Amen.

Your honest confession that your walk with God feels distant is itself heard by Him, and we will pray for you and with you for recovery and restoration.

Worldly men live at a distance from God and have no communion with Him, but the true believer recognizes God everywhere and cannot be content to remain far off. The Psalmist said, I have declared my ways and You heard me, teach me Your statutes. That is the path for a man of God alone with God, to hide nothing from Him, to tell Him plainly how cold or wandering the heart has become, and then to ask to be taught again. The secret of the Lord is with them that fear Him, and He will show them His covenant.

Without faith it is impossible to please God, for only by faith can we recognize Him, approach Him, speak to Him, hear Him and feel His presence. Before we can walk with God we must come to God, believing that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. He is not displeased with those who by faith seek to please Him and are content to take their reward from His hand. He must be pleased with the work of His own grace.

Fellowship with God was the privilege of unfallen man, and sin banished us from His presence. Christ came to restore to us our lost patrimony. They who have by His grace believed and have by His precious blood been washed have peace with God through Jesus Christ our Lord, and have access with boldness into this grace. There is no recovery apart from Christ, for he who is not with Christ is not with God. But God with us in Christ is exquisite delight and full reconciliation. God alone might strike us with terror, but God with us inspires hope and confidence. All that God means, the Infinite Jehovah with us, there lies the mercy and there lies the grace.

If you would have power with God again, remember that power proceeds not from what is in you but from what is in God, from His nature and His promises. Faith pleads the promises and prevails. Simple faith is needed, for nobody who doubts can prevail with God. And the toleration of any known sin deprives us of power with God, while a conscience void of offense gives boldness on our knees. So declare your ways to Him without reserve, call sin by its right name, and ask Him to deliver and to teach you.

Do not try to go an inch in the pilgrimage to Heaven without God. Private prayer may degenerate into a mere form unless God is there. Come to Him in humble walking, not dictating what He must do, but saying, It is the Lord, let Him do what seems good to Him. Be with Him in common things, morning and evening, seeking His face with a childlike faith that takes His Word as true. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God, therefore hear it attentively and drink it in, and believe it simply.

We now cry unto God Most High for you, unto God that performs all things for His people.

O Lord God, hear this soul who confesses distance and desires to be near again. Forgive through the blood of Jesus Christ alone, and restore fellowship by Your grace. Increase faith where it is weak, for without faith none can please You. Teach Your statutes, lead back to close communion, and let Your presence be known as God with us. Give a tender conscience, a humble walk, and a heart that leaves its care with You. Perform for this dear one all that is needed for recovery, and keep this soul till the thin partition between communion on earth and perfect communion in Heaven is removed. For Jesus sake, Amen.

We will continue to pray that the Lord who heard you when you first declared your ways will hear you now and teach you and bring you into joyful fellowship again.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your request has been heard and we have prayed for you before the Lord, asking Him to draw you near again and to restore what feels distant and cold.

Do not despair when you feel this weakness, for this very awareness can become the beginning of recovery. God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble, and He will not despise a broken and humbled heart. Come to Him with lowliness of mind, not demanding but trusting, as the leper did when he knelt and said, if You will, You can make me clean, leaving all in His hands and confessing that all authority is His.

In this season, prepare the way of the Lord in your heart and bring forth fruits that fit repentance. Turn again to His commandments, confess what weighs on you, and walk in the small faithful steps He sets before you each day. And as you pray, let your requests be made known to God with thanksgiving. We are often quick to remember God in sickness and forget Him in health, but Scripture trains us to give glory to God continually, both in distress and in recovery, offering thanks for all things that befall us.

Bear this trial thankfully and with patience, looking to His faithfulness. God is faithful and true, and what He has promised He will perform. If we suffer with Him we shall also live with Him. May He in His mercy lift you up, forgive your sins through Jesus Christ alone who is our only way of salvation, renew your strength, and make your love for Him firm and confident again.
