Thank you for opening your heart so honestly and for asking for prayer. We have prayed with you in the name of the Lord Jesus, asking the Holy Spirit to guide you and draw you near to God.
Your desire not to miss what God has promised, and your sorrow over disappointing Him, is something God hears. Scripture says His mercies are new every morning and His faithfulness is great, and that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. The apostle Paul called himself the chief of sinners, a blasphemer and persecutor, yet he obtained mercy so that Jesus Christ might show all longsuffering as a pattern for those who would afterward believe. When God shows mercy He does not only withhold punishment, He does far more. His grace is exceeding abundant, making those who trust in Christ righteous and bringing them as sons and heirs through faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. That is why you do not need to fear that He will simply get fed up with you and forsake you when you come to Him with a repentant heart. He is longsuffering and ready to forgive again as you turn to Him.
At the same time, the way to draw near to God is to continue in that faith, believing that He is able to save you, and walking in the ways that are pleasing to Him. You mentioned wanting to make better choices, and that is the right response to mercy. God gives the guidance of His Holy Spirit to those who seek Him, to lead them gently into a life that honors Him. As you ask for His help, keep turning from what you know is not pleasing to Him and pursue what is good, and show mercy to others as you have received mercy, for nothing is so characteristic of those who have been forgiven as a merciful heart.
We have prayed that the Lord would forgive you, renew you each day, and fill you with His Spirit to guide you clearly. We have prayed that He would provide for your financial, spiritual and emotional needs according to His wisdom and goodness, and that He would not forsake you but keep you and bring to pass His good purposes for you as you walk with Him. We have also prayed for full recovery for you and for your dog, asking for healing and comfort according to His will.
Keep crying to Him simply for mercy, as those who once cried, have mercy on us, and keep trusting in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. He who began a good work is faithful to complete it. May the Lord grant you peace, assurance of forgiveness, and strength to walk faithfully with Him in the days ahead. Amen.

Your honest desire to draw near to God and to call Jesus Lord is itself evidence of the Holy Spirit already at work in you, for no one can genuinely confess that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit. That confession is not something you produce on your own, it is the Spirit drawing you, convicting you, and dwelling within you.
Scripture says we know that He abides in us by the Spirit which He has given us. When you trusted in Christ, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the down payment and guarantee of your inheritance until the full redemption comes. That seal is God's mark of ownership on your life, a sign that you belong to Him. Because of that, you can be confident that He will not get fed up with you and will not forsake you. His mercies are new every morning, as Lamentations teaches, and His forgiveness is not measured out mathematically but flows from His gracious character. When you confess your sin, He is faithful and just to forgive you through Jesus Christ alone, who is the only way of salvation.
You mentioned Moses and the promised land and the fear of missing what God has for you. God is merciful and patient, and His desire is to bring you into all that He has promised. Your part is to keep sowing to the Spirit, for Jesus said His words are spirit and life, and if we sow to the Spirit we will reap life everlasting. To sow to the Spirit means to stay in the Word, to pray, to yield to His leading, and to be filled with the Spirit continually. The Spirit who lives in you, for your body is His temple, wants to do more than simply indwell you, He wants to fill you and overflow through you with power to live in a way that pleases God.
You asked for the Holy Spirit to gently guide you into right choices and a life pleasing to Him. That is exactly His ministry. Jesus said when the Holy Spirit comes He will teach you all things, He will bear witness of Jesus, and He will convict and guide concerning righteousness. He also gives you power to put to death the deeds of the flesh, which you cannot do in your own strength. As you yield to Him and are controlled by Him, He perfects the love of God in you, and that love is more enduring and more important than any spiritual gift, though the Spirit does distribute gifts as He wills for the good of all.
God went about doing good and healing through the power of the Holy Spirit in the ministry of Jesus, and He poured out that same gift on both Jews and Gentiles who believed, showing that His grace is for all who call on Christ. He is still the one who brings healing and provision. He cares about your financial, spiritual and emotional needs, and He cares about your beloved dog as well.
I pray with you now that the Father, in the name of Jesus, would assure your heart of His fresh mercy and complete forgiveness, that you would know deeply that you are sealed and kept by His Spirit and not cast aside.
