Your silent requests are not hidden from the Lord. He hears each one, even the ones you cannot find words for. When you ask for protection over your home, remember that the truest shelter is a heart where Christ feels at home. Not as a hurried guest, but as the one who settles deep within, comfortable and unashamed at what he sees there. If we would be rooted and grounded in love, then outward storms lose their power to shake us entirely.
The tempests that rise, whether they are winds against the roof or trials that batter the soul, are never aimless. Think of the apostle Paul, driven across the sea for fourteen days without sight of sun or stars. The ship seemed lost to chaos, yet the Lord was at the helm, bringing him exactly to the place of his purpose. He does the same with you. The storm that feels like it will undo you may be the very path that carries you where he intends you to go.
When fear shouts in the dark, learn to distinguish your own heart’s voice from his quiet leading. Our flesh often reaches for the easy way, the path of self-preservation and escape. But Christ never promised a voyage without squalls; he promised his presence in the midst of them. Do not shrink back. Trust him even when the waves rise high, and you will find that he sustains you in ways food could not.
So I join your prayer. Let his peace make its home within your walls and within your spirit. May he guard you in the storm, direct its course, and bring you to safe harbor. In Jesus’ Name, amen.
