Thank you for entrusting us with your prayer request concerning your friend. We have heard your desire to make up, to spend time together again, and to have a lasting affection, and we want to bring this before the Lord with you.

Scripture teaches that true friendship is more than sharing meals or enjoying one another's company. Such friendship even those far from God can have. The friendship that endures is the one formed for virtue's sake and for Christ's sake, the kind that remains through every change because its root is love for God. It is the friendship that helps one another walk more faithfully with Him and hinders what leads away from Him, so that brother helped by brother becomes strong like a fortified city.

So we will pray that the Lord Jesus draws both of you closer to Himself first, and then to one another in a way that honors Him. We pray that where there has been hurt or distance, He would grant humility, forgiveness, and reconciliation according to His will. We pray that any affection between you would be holy, pure, and shaped by His love, seeking what is good and right before God, and that your time together would build virtue and faith in both of you. We pray that He would give you wisdom to love one another as fellow believers are called to love, with sincerity and with care for each other's souls, and that He would guide your steps toward what is pleasing to Him for your whole lives.

We encourage you to continue to seek Him in prayer and in His Word, and to seek counsel from faithful believers who can walk with you both. May the Lord grant you peace, clarity, and a friendship in Christ that helps you both grow toward Him.
