Please pray for ###

Beloved of All
There is a rare condition on my head. Basically the skin/tissue on it moved down across my shoulders and back / all around the body. I found a way to fix this but it's taking so long (It's been ### years). This thing creates permanent anxiety and other problems such as having incredible hard time socializing with others. I know it sounds weird but it's like that. I pray but nothing happens. I think I don't have enough faith for this. I just want this to be gone and to live normally again

We have read your request and our hearts go out to you in this long and difficult trial you have carried for so many years. To live with a rare physical condition that affects your whole body, and to carry the weight of constant anxiety and the struggle to be around others, is a heavy burden. We want you to know that we are standing with you in prayer and that God sees you and knows every detail of what you are enduring.

We hear your discouragement when you say you pray but nothing happens and you feel you do not have enough faith. Please be encouraged that the Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18. He does not turn away from a sincere cry, even when it feels weak. Jesus said, If you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will tell this mountain, Move from here to there, and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you Matthew 17:20. It is not the size of our faith that saves us, but the greatness of the One in whom our faith rests. Even a small, trembling faith placed in Jesus is precious to God. We also want to gently remind you that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6, and there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your trust fully in Jesus as Lord and Savior, believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, for with the heart one believes resulting in righteousness and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation Romans 10:9-10. When we pray in His name, we come with confidence that God hears us.

We also understand the anxiety and isolation this condition has created. God cares deeply about both your body and your mind. Scripture tells us, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. We are told to cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you 1 Peter 5:7. We pray that even while you wait for complete healing, God will guard your heart with His peace and help you to find fellowship and strength. He promises, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10. And for your body we cling to His promise, But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says the Lord Jeremiah 30:17.

We join together now and pray for you.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother who has suffered for so long with this condition of skin and tissue. You know him intimately, for You formed his body, and You see the pain, the anxiety, and the loneliness he carries. Lord, we ask for Your healing touch upon his body. We pray that You would restore what has been displaced and bring complete healing according to Your will. We pray for wisdom and guidance for any treatment he is pursuing, and for patience and strength to endure this long process. Lord, calm his anxious heart and replace fear with Your perfect peace that surpasses understanding. Help him to know that You hear every prayer, even when the answer seems delayed, and deepen his faith to trust in Your goodness and Your timing. Draw him close to Yourself and surround him with supportive community so that socializing would no longer feel so hard. Let him experience Your presence and know that he is not alone, and let him live the normal, full life he longs for, for Your glory. We ask all this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ, our healer and our hope. Amen.

We encourage you to keep bringing your requests to God honestly each day, even with simple prayers, trusting that He hears. Continue to seek wise and appropriate medical care as God provides, and do not isolate yourself. If possible, share your struggle with a trusted pastor or mature believer who can pray with you and walk with you. God is faithful, and even when healing comes slowly, His grace is sufficient and His strength is made perfect in weakness 2 Corinthians 12:9. We are continuing to pray that you will see His restoration and know His peace in a deeper way.

We have been sitting with your request and we hear how heavy this has been to carry for years.

Living with a rare and visible condition that affects your whole body, and feeling like progress is so slow even though you have found a way forward, would wear anyone down. It makes sense that you feel anxious all the time and that being around other people feels incredibly hard. Wanting this to be gone so you can live normally again is a very understandable longing.

Please hear that struggling in prayer or not seeing change yet does not mean you lack faith or that God is distant from you. God sees your persistence through these years, and He cares about both your physical suffering and the loneliness that has come with it.

Alongside prayer, we gently encourage you to keep a medical professional involved in what you are experiencing with your skin and tissue, if you are not already. It can also help to talk with a trusted doctor or counselor about the constant anxiety and the difficulty socializing, so you do not have to carry those burdens alone. Bringing one safe person, a family member, pastor, or friend, into what you are going through can make next steps less isolating.

Father, we lift our brother to You today. You know his body, his years of waiting, and his desire to be healed and to live freely. Give him wisdom for next steps, steady support around him, and peace as he waits on You. Show him Your nearness and Your care day by day. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your long and wearying affliction has been heard, and the heaviness you describe, the anxiety that never leaves you and the hardness of being among others, is known to the Lord who sees the heart. To bear such a burden for years, to have found a way of relief and yet to wait so long for it, is a sore trial of both body and spirit, and it is no wonder that you are cast down and cry, I pray but nothing happens.

You write that you think you have not enough faith, and there I must gently correct and comfort you. The safety of the weak and of the strong believer rests upon the same foundation. Jesus Himself said to Peter, O you of little faith, and in that word He rebuked him because it was little, but He smiled upon him because it was faith. Though your faith be but as a grain of mustard seed, or as smoking flax that seems ready to go out, our Lord will not quench it, and He has eyes to see it where you and I cannot. Faith is not to be measured by its strength but by its object. Its essence lies not merely in knowing that Christ is there, or believing that He is strong, but in dropping down into His arms. That poor trembling trust which takes what God gives does the most effectual thing for the soul. A bridge that is strong enough to carry you over the stream will carry you though your step upon it be feeble. So take Him at His word, even with a trembling hand.

I would have you know also that the very anxiety which arises through your being in difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. Faith, when it is what it ought to be, soon makes an end of that distress, not by making you strong in yourself, but by making Christ your shield. Above all take the shield of faith, for it quenches the fiery darts, whether they come from Satan, from the world, or from your own fearful heart. Weak faith often gets a wetting and suffers many discomforts and broken joys, for it is a great fabricator of terrors, but even then Christ does not let the waters drown His own. He may suffer them to make you uncomfortable for a season, yet He keeps you.

There is abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the very leaves of the Tree of Life are for the healing of the nations. The least thing about Christ is healing. His leaf also shall not wither. Pluck a leaf of this Tree by your poor trembling faith and if you dare not take more than that, yet shall it make you whole. These healing leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. And mark how Scripture joins pardon and healing together. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you. Pardon and healing were one. When the Sun of Righteousness rises upon His people with healing in His wings, they have no need to say, I am sick, for forgiveness has come. From a pardoning God such mercies flow that we who have little faith and are weak in heart suddenly find our spirits revive.

Therefore I would advise you to look often to the foundation of your faith, to see whether you have believed in Jesus and have in your heart the true life which grows out of such faith. Examine yourself whether you are in the faith, and prove yourself. Faith comes by hearing, and by observing what the Lord has done for other poor sinners like ourselves, for He is able to do the same for us. Let that celestial lamp show you the way to faith while you hear His promise. Continue to use the means which Providence has put in your way for the relief of your body, and be patient under the Lord's hand, for He can help you to help it, and His time is not as our time.

Let us pray for you. O Lord our God, look upon this afflicted one who has borne this strange and heavy infirmity these many years, and whose spirit is worn with anxiety and loneliness. Forgive sin and heal disease, for with You pardon and healing are joined. If there be but a grain of faith, cherish it, and let it grow by hearing Your Word. Spread Your shield over this troubled heart, quench its fears, and give quietness within. Lay Your healing hand upon the body, and in Your mercy grant relief and a return to a calm and ordinary life, if it be Your will. Above all, let this soul fall into the arms of Christ and find there righteousness and peace. Hear the cry of a weak believer and answer for Your mercy sake. Amen.
