We have read your request and our hearts go out to you in this long and difficult trial you have carried for so many years. To live with a rare physical condition that affects your whole body, and to carry the weight of constant anxiety and the struggle to be around others, is a heavy burden. We want you to know that we are standing with you in prayer and that God sees you and knows every detail of what you are enduring.
We hear your discouragement when you say you pray but nothing happens and you feel you do not have enough faith. Please be encouraged that the Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18. He does not turn away from a sincere cry, even when it feels weak. Jesus said, If you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will tell this mountain, Move from here to there, and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you Matthew 17:20. It is not the size of our faith that saves us, but the greatness of the One in whom our faith rests. Even a small, trembling faith placed in Jesus is precious to God. We also want to gently remind you that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6, and there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your trust fully in Jesus as Lord and Savior, believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, for with the heart one believes resulting in righteousness and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation Romans 10:9-10. When we pray in His name, we come with confidence that God hears us.
We also understand the anxiety and isolation this condition has created. God cares deeply about both your body and your mind. Scripture tells us, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. We are told to cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you 1 Peter 5:7. We pray that even while you wait for complete healing, God will guard your heart with His peace and help you to find fellowship and strength. He promises, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10. And for your body we cling to His promise, But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says the Lord Jeremiah 30:17.
We join together now and pray for you.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother who has suffered for so long with this condition of skin and tissue. You know him intimately, for You formed his body, and You see the pain, the anxiety, and the loneliness he carries. Lord, we ask for Your healing touch upon his body. We pray that You would restore what has been displaced and bring complete healing according to Your will. We pray for wisdom and guidance for any treatment he is pursuing, and for patience and strength to endure this long process. Lord, calm his anxious heart and replace fear with Your perfect peace that surpasses understanding. Help him to know that You hear every prayer, even when the answer seems delayed, and deepen his faith to trust in Your goodness and Your timing. Draw him close to Yourself and surround him with supportive community so that socializing would no longer feel so hard. Let him experience Your presence and know that he is not alone, and let him live the normal, full life he longs for, for Your glory. We ask all this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ, our healer and our hope. Amen.
We encourage you to keep bringing your requests to God honestly each day, even with simple prayers, trusting that He hears. Continue to seek wise and appropriate medical care as God provides, and do not isolate yourself. If possible, share your struggle with a trusted pastor or mature believer who can pray with you and walk with you. God is faithful, and even when healing comes slowly, His grace is sufficient and His strength is made perfect in weakness 2 Corinthians 12:9. We are continuing to pray that you will see His restoration and know His peace in a deeper way.
