We join you in lifting up your brother before the Lord and we thank you for sharing your heart with us again and for your gratitude for those who have prayed for him in the past. We understand the weight of not knowing when this difficult season will change and we stand with you in asking God to protect him, to heal him, and to lead him into better things.
We are reminded in Scripture that Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18 and that He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3. When the pain feels deep and the path forward is unclear, God promises Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10. We also cling to the truth that for I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11 and that We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose Romans 8:28.
We noticed that your request spoke of God but did not mention Jesus Christ, and we want to gently share why His name is so essential. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, for Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. Our prayers are heard because Jesus shed His blood for us and rose again, and when we believe in Him and call upon His name we are saved and brought into fellowship with God. If your brother does not yet know Jesus as Lord and Savior, we pray that this trial would draw him to salvation, and if he does know Him, that he would find renewed strength and hope in Christ.
Let us pray together.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear brother to You. We ask that You protect his life and his health, that You place Your hand upon him and keep him from harm. Lord, You see the deep pain in his heart, the wounds that others cannot see, and we ask You to heal his broken heart and bind up his wounds. Give him strength for each day, sustain him when he is weary, and fill him with Your peace which surpasses all understanding. We ask that You bless him in everything his hands do, that You open the best paths for his life and guide his steps. Lead him away from confusion and darkness and lead him to better things according to Your perfect will. Restore to him even more abundantly than before, not only in outward blessing but in joy, hope, and closeness to You. Help him to seek You with all his heart and to trust in Your timing. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
We encourage you to continue to bring your brother before the Lord with thanksgiving, as we are taught In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. Keep interceding for him, keep speaking words of hope and Scripture over his life, and trust that God is working even when you cannot see the change yet. We will continue to pray that God guides him, blesses him abundantly, and brings him into a future filled with hope in Christ.
