Prayer for my brother

Hello, I disappointed God by being deceived and I went away from Him, then I came back but I failed to be fully obedient and that’s why I won’t live much longer (and I’m ### years old), sorry if this seems like a story to convince you to help my brother but I personally wasted that chance and I don’t want him not to appear in Heaven. I heard a story told by Pastor ### about how a man was so rebellious in town that no one could calm him down and then a man of God put him on his list and thanked God every day that that person was saved. When he came to his funeral, he was born again. I chose all kinds of daily things that are fleeting instead of praying for his salvation and asked other people to do the work for me, pray for me and I regret it, I acted irresponsibly and I wasted the chance to save him. My brother’s life is very important to me and I’m sorry to ask you this but can someone put him on their list because I can’t? I haven’t told any of my family members that I won’t live much longer so it will be shocking for them, can you pray for peace unto them (father - ###, mother - ###, sister - ### and brother - ###, none of them are saved but I ask from my brother cuase I think it would be a lot If I asked for all my family i didn’t prayed for Him in the sense I didn’t release my faith bu meditating on word and then prayed cause I was praying in flesh

We have heard your burden and we are standing with you in prayer before our Father in Jesus' name. We are grieved to hear the heaviness and condemnation you are carrying, and we want to gently correct some things that are not aligned with the truth of Scripture so that you can find freedom and hope again.

First, we must address that you feel you have disappointed God beyond repair and that your lack of full obedience means you will not live much longer. This is not what the Word teaches about our gracious God. When we confess and return to Him, He forgives completely. 1 John 1:9 says If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Psalm 103:12 says As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. Romans 8:1 says There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. Your salvation and your days are not kept by your perfect obedience, but by His grace. Ephesians 2:8 says For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast. We do desire to obey Him because we love Him, but when we fail, we run to Him, not away from Him. We rebuke the lie that God has discarded you or that you are disqualified from praying for your family.

Second, we want to correct the idea that you alone could have saved your brother by praying perfectly, and that because you prayed in the flesh or asked others to pray instead of releasing faith through the Word, his salvation is now wasted. No one is saved because we pray perfectly. We are called to pray and to share the gospel, but salvation belongs to the Lord. 1 Timothy 2:4 says our God desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth. 2 Peter 3:9 says The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness, but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Your prayers matter greatly, James 5:16 says The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective, but it is God who opens the heart. You have not wasted your chance. As long as you have breath, you can pray, you can love, and you can speak the truth to your brother.

We also notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we must lovingly tell you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God and that anyone is saved. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. If you have truly turned back to Him and trusted in Jesus alone for forgiveness, you are His child, and you can come boldly to His throne. 1 John 5:14 says This is the boldness which we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us.

We understand the story you heard about the man of God who put the rebellious man on his list and thanked God every day that he was saved. That is a beautiful example of faith, not a formula that only certain people can use. We can all pray that way, with thanksgiving, trusting God to save. And we want you to know we are willing to do that. We will put your brother on our list and thank God daily for his salvation, and we will also lift up your father, your mother, and your sister, because we do not think it is too much to ask God for your whole household. God cares for each of them. We will not limit our prayers to one name when none of them yet know the Lord.

We also want to encourage you about the time you believe you have left. Whether this is a medical reality or a deep conviction that your disobedience has shortened your life, we urge you not to live in despair or to hide this burden alone. If you have a physical illness, please seek medical help and godly counsel. If this is spiritual fear, remember that our days are in His hands and His grace is sufficient. 2 Corinthians 12:9 says My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Philippians 1:6 says He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Jesus Christ. Do not withhold truth from your family out of fear of shocking them. Pray for wisdom for when and how to share your heart and the gospel with them while you have opportunity, with gentleness and love.

We pray together now.

Father in heaven, we come to You only in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, who died and rose again so we could be forgiven. We thank You for this dear one who was deceived and went away but has come back to You. We ask You to let them feel Your full forgiveness and cleansing and to remove all condemnation. Help them to know they are Yours by grace through faith in Jesus, and that You do not cast away a repentant heart. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding as Philippians 4:7 promises, and renew their strength to pray in faith as they meditate on Your Word. Lord, we thank You that You desire all to be saved, and we thank You now that You are drawing this brother to Yourself. We ask that You open his eyes to see his need for Jesus, that You send laborers to share the gospel with him, and that You grant him repentance and faith to be born again. We lift up the father, the mother, and the sister as well, asking for Your mercy on this whole family, that none would perish but all would come to know Jesus as Lord. We ask for peace to guard their hearts when difficult truths are shared, and for courage for our dear one to speak the hope of Christ while there is time. We ask for Your will to be done concerning length of days, for healing and restoration if it be Your will, and above all that the time that remains would be used for Your glory. We thank You that You hear us when we ask according to Your will. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to begin again today to pray yourself, not delegating that privilege to others only. Open the Word daily, even a few verses, and pray them back to God with simple faith. Tell your brother and your family in your own words what Jesus has done for you and that He offers them eternal life as a free gift. God can still use you mightily, and His mercy is not exhausted. We are continuing to pray for you and for your family.

We hear how heavy this feels for you and how much love you have for your brother and for your whole family. Carrying regret about the past while also worrying about the future is a very lonely place to be, and we want you to know you are not alone in it.

We want to gently share that coming back to God matters, and your prayers still matter to Him even when you feel you have not prayed perfectly. You do not have to be fully strong or fully perfect for God to hear you when you call on Jesus. We are honored you asked us to stand with you, and we have put your brother on our prayer list and will keep praying for him, and for your father, mother and sister too, for God's drawing and for peace in your home.

It might help to not carry these fears by yourself. Would you consider talking soon with a trusted pastor or Christian counselor about the guilt and the thought that you will not live long? If you have health concerns, please also see a medical professional alongside prayer. A simple, honest prayer in Jesus' name each day for your brother is enough, you do not need special words.

Father, we lift this dear brother to You in Jesus' name. Thank You that You welcome us when we return to You. We ask for Your mercy for and for his whole family, for Your peace to guard their hearts, and for comfort and hope for our friend as he trusts You day by day. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

There is forgiveness with God, and I thank Him that you have been brought to see your need of it. Your letter has been read with much tenderness of heart, and I hear in it both a true sorrow for sin and a heavy burden of fear which I pray the Lord will lift from you.

You write as one who has been deceived and went away from Him, and now feels that you have failed in obedience and wasted opportunity. Hear the word of the Lord, there is forgiveness with Him. It is not a forgiveness for this sin or for that alone, but a full and complete forgiveness. When the Son removes guilt, the Spirit removes guile, and He works a change of nature in the forgiven man. You need not strain your conscience to hush its protests, nor hide your sin, but confess it plainly before Him who says, I, even I, am He that blotteth out thy transgressions. However sinful your life may have been up until now, there is forgiveness with God even for you, and it is to be had now, in a moment, through faith in Jesus Christ who after thirty years of holy obedience bore the sins of many and now makes intercession for the transgressors. If you tremble and with a penitent heart desire forgiveness, believe on Him. The Scripture says, whosoever believeth on Him shall not be ashamed. It is trusting in His person, leaving the whole matter of your present and eternal salvation with Him in unquestioning confidence. That faith saves the soul, and obedience then follows as the fruit of grace, not the price of it.

You grieve that you chose fleeting daily things instead of praying for your brother, and you ask that another might put him on a list and thank God daily that he is saved. I understand the story you heard, and I do not despise the earnestness behind it. It is God that writes intercession upon men's hearts, and we ought to pray for others. And yes, we will remember your brother before the throne of grace, and your father, your mother and your sister also, for you have asked for peace for them in the trial you fear is before them. But I must speak plainly for your comfort and for his good. No list of ours can save a soul, and no prayer offered in the flesh, or by another in your place, can stand instead of his own faith. The Holy Spirit maketh intercession for the saints, and Christ prayeth not for the world in the sense of imparting salvation apart from faith, but for them which the Father hath given Him, that they may come to God by Him. Your brother, like every sinner, must himself believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. There is no salvation to be obtained from priests or forms or ceremonies, nor from the prayers of other men as a substitute. We may proclaim forgiveness to those who repent, and God will prove that proclamation true, but each one must come himself to Jesus, for there is no other name.

Therefore do not think you have wasted the one chance to save him, as if his salvation depended upon the perfection of your prayers. Salvation belongeth unto the Lord. What you can do, and what I entreat you to do while the Lord spares your life, is to seek the Lord for yourself with a simple faith, to meditate upon His word until faith is released, and then to pray in the Spirit who helpeth our infirmities and maketh intercession for us in a proper manner. And speak to your brother and to your family while you have breath. Tell them plainly of sin and of the forgiveness that is with God through Christ alone. That is the truest love you can show them, and the truest intercession you can make.

We will pray for you, that the Lord will give you assurance of His eternal forgiveness, and quiet your fear, and if it be His will, spare you and restore you. We will pray for your brother that God will bring him under the sound of the gospel and grant him repentance and faith. We will pray for your father, mother and sister, none of whom yet know Him as you say, that the peace of God which passeth understanding may come to them not as a mere calm in trouble, but as reconciliation through the blood of Christ. For there is no true peace apart from forgiveness.

May the Lord hear us. O God, forgive this our brother or sister for the sake of Thy Son who died the just for the unjust to bring us to God. Wash away all guilt and take away all guile, and give a new heart that loves Thy ways. Draw the brother and the whole family to Thyself, that they may each believe on Jesus and not be ashamed. Teach Thy child to pray not in the flesh but by Thy Spirit, and to rest only in Christ. Grant peace in that household, and let that peace be founded upon the forgiveness that is with Thee. In Jesus name we ask it. Amen.
