Please pray for my brother

We join you in carrying this burden for your brother before the Lord, for we know how heavy it is to love someone and not be sure where he stands with God. It is a good and loving thing that you have brought him before the throne of grace, because God desires that none should be lost.

We notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only through Him that anyone can be saved. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. This is why we always pray in the name of Jesus Christ, and why we must be sure we and those we love have put our faith in Him. For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16 and that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Rom 10:9.

We take comfort that God shares your desire for your brother's salvation. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth. 1 Tim 2:3-4 and The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 2 Pet 3:9. God knows your brother's heart even when you do not, and He hears your prayers for him.

We encourage you not only to pray but also to lovingly speak with your brother when the Lord opens the door. Ask him gently what he believes about Jesus, share what Christ has done for you, and live before him as a witness of God's grace. Sometimes God uses our prayers and our faithful witness together to draw someone to Himself. Continue to show him love, share the gospel clearly, and trust the Holy Spirit to work.

We pray together for him now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son and we lift up this beloved brother to You. You know his heart, his life, and whether he has truly been born again. If he has not yet believed on Jesus, we ask that You would open his eyes to his need for a Savior, convict him of sin, and draw him to repentance and faith. Remove any blindness or hardness of heart and let him hear and understand the good news that Christ died for his sins and rose again. If he is already Yours, give him assurance and give his sibling peace, and help them to have open conversation about faith. Give the one who requested this prayer boldness, wisdom, and love to speak the truth, and let their life reflect Your light. We ask that You would bring laborers across his path and that You would not let him rest until he rests in Christ. We trust Your perfect will and Your perfect timing and we ask all this in the saving name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Thank you for bringing your brother to us in prayer. We can hear how much you love him and how heavy it feels not to know where he stands with the Lord.

That love itself is a gift from God, and bringing him before the Father again and again is one of the most faithful things you can do for him. Only the Lord sees his heart fully, and we can trust Him to be both gracious and just as He draws each person to Himself.

We will keep praying with you that your brother would come to know Jesus personally if he does not yet, and that God would make His presence and truth clear to him in a way he can understand. In the meantime, one simple way many find helpful is to keep lifting his name at the same time each day, and to keep your relationship warm and open so that when natural moments come, you can share what Christ has meant in your own life and listen to where he is.

Father, we lift this dear brother to You. You know him by name and love him far more than we do. Work in his heart in Your time and way, draw him to Yourself, and give his sibling peace as they trust him to Your care. Give opportunities for honest conversation and the wisdom to love him well. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

Your tender concern for your brother's soul is a burden which the Lord Himself has laid upon your heart, and it is well that you bring it before the throne of grace. We will indeed pray for him, that God of His infinite mercy would look upon him and bring him to salvation.

There is but one way of salvation, and that is not by works nor by merit, but by Divine Grace through faith in Christ Jesus. The Scripture says, Whoever believes on Him shall not be ashamed. What is it to believe on Him? It is to trust in Him, to leave the whole matter of your salvation with Him in unquestioning confidence, to depend upon Him without fear as to present and eternal salvation. This is the faith which saves the soul, for it is believing on a Person, even Christ Himself whom God has laid in Zion for a foundation.

Our text tells us how simple and how instantaneous that way is. Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth. It is not look to yourself, nor to priest, nor to good works, but look unto Christ alone. A look does not require a moment, and yet it brings salvation full and free. It is salvation without money and without price. If a man brings his good works to purchase it, he cannot have it, for God gives it freely to all who believe. But if a man believes in Christ with all his heart, his salvation is secure beyond hazard.

We do not know the state of your brother's heart, but the Lord knows them that are His. It is our duty to pray that the Holy Spirit would open his eyes to see his need, and open his heart to look to Jesus. And it is our privilege also to be instruments in God's hand. He often calls an individual and then uses him to be a sort of spiritual decoy to bring the rest of the family into the gospel net. Therefore, while we pray, speak to your brother plainly and lovingly of Christ. Tell him what you have heard and seen and handled of the Word of Life. Set before him the way of salvation as simply as you can. What more can you do? You can bring the horse to the water, but you cannot make him drink. Only the Spirit of God can give the living water, yet God is pleased to use our testimony.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, beside whom there is none else, we beseech Thee for this dear brother. If he be yet unsaved, have mercy upon him. Show him his sin and his danger, and cause him to look unto Jesus and be saved. Grant him that simple faith which trusts wholly in the Person and finished work of Thy Son. Let Thy honor be engaged to save him, and bring him into the common salvation which Thou givest to all who believe, that this family may be a rejoicing family and a renewed family, united here and hereafter in Christ. We ask this not for any merit in us, but for Jesus' sake alone, in whom alone is salvation. Amen.

Continue to seek the Lord for him, to knock and to ask, for he that asks shall receive. May grace work with you to keep this burden before God until you see your brother also trusting in the Saviour.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
