Your honest prayer has been heard, and we join you in bringing it before the Lord. It is good that you have come with a humble heart, thanking Him for His past protection and asking for forgiveness when you have veered away. The Scripture promises that if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us, because Jesus has given His life for us.
We understand the weight you feel at this pivotal point, wanting to be there to protect and provide for your family and asking God to cause what is happening now to work out for good. We pray with you for that protection and provision. We also want to encourage you with what God shows us about life itself.
The spiritual life is far superior to the material life. The enemy constantly holds up the glitter of this world and tells us that if we can just get our circumstances fixed, then we will have life. But Jesus taught that He Himself is the bread of life who came down from heaven to give life to the world. His words are spirit and they are life. To believe on Him is to receive a new dimension of life, the life of the Spirit, which gives the power to be what God wants you to be. As Peter said, only Jesus has the words of eternal life, for He is the Messiah, the Son of the living God.
Many sought Jesus only because their physical needs were met, because they ate and were filled, and they missed the deeper miracle. What people search for in the world often leaves them empty, while true fullness is found in the Father's house through faith in Christ. Whoever believes on the Son has everlasting life. That is the greatest miracle God does, freeing us from the power of sin and bringing us into His kingdom of light. It is a quality of life that is rich and satisfying now, and it is also a life that goes on forever.
God does hold life in His hands. He is able to sustain life and to restore life, and the days He appoints for us are in His care. In uncertain times it is easy to become anxious or even bitter if things do not go as we hope, but bitterness only harms the heart that holds it. Scripture warns us to guard against any root of bitterness and instead to keep the heart with all diligence, for from it flow the issues of life. His commands and His ways are not restrictions to keep you from life, they are given to lead you into a better, healthier, and more protected life.
So we pray that God will do His perfect work in you through this season, conforming you more to the image of Christ. The Good Shepherd laid down His life for His sheep, and He knows you and cares for your family deeply.
We pray for you now. Father, thank You for Your Word which is spirit and truth and life to all who believe. Thank You that through Jesus we can be forgiven and receive new life. We ask You to surround this one and this family with Your protection and to sustain them. Give wisdom for every decision at this turning point, and give peace to trust Your plan even when the outcome is not yet seen. Provide what is needed according to Your perfect will, and above all deepen faith in Jesus, the bread of life, so that whatever happens, there will be strength in the Spirit to walk faithfully and to care well for loved ones. May the entrance of Your Word bring light and life, and may there be a continued walk in that light. In Jesus name, amen.
