Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ. I'm a wretched and worthless sinner. I'm also Born-Again. I was also Backslidden for about 40 years. I'm also Back in Fellowship with God! Praise The Lord!! Please pray for my physical and mental health issues, which are, I regret to say, all the result of my being a foolish alcoholic for many, many years. I'm tired of being in pain. I'm tired of being financially broke. I'm tired of being tired. May God's Will Be Done in my life. I ask this in Jesus' Precious and Holy Name. Amen.

We rejoice with you that you are born again and back in fellowship with God, and we give thanks that you have returned to Him after so many years being backslidden. There is great joy in heaven over one sinner who repents, and we share in that joy with you today. We want to gently and lovingly correct how you speak about yourself, for while we were all sinners and wretched apart from Christ as Romans 3:23 and Romans 7:24 tell us, in Christ you are not worthless. You are fearfully and wonderfully made as Psalm 139:14 says, you are God's workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works as Ephesians 2:10 says, and you were bought at a great price as 1 Corinthians 6:20 says. The blood of Jesus declares your immense value to God. We also hear your honesty about the consequences of many years of alcoholism, and we commend your repentance. Scripture teaches that God forgives fully when we confess, as 1 John 1:9 says if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness, and that as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us as Psalm 103:12 says, and that if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, the old things have passed away, behold, all things have become new as 2 Corinthians 5:17 says. Yet we also know that what we sow we reap as Galatians 6:7 says, and our bodies are a temple of the Holy Spirit as 1 Corinthians 6:19 says, so the physical and mental pain and the financial hardship you now carry can be the harvest of those former years even while you stand fully forgiven. There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus as Romans 8:1 says.

We are tired with you in your weariness, and we bring your pain, your exhaustion, and your financial need before the Lord who sees and cares.

We pray together for you now. Father, we come before Your throne of grace in the precious and holy name of Jesus, and we thank You for drawing our brother back into fellowship after being far off. We thank You for Your mercy that endures forever and for the cleansing blood of Jesus. Lord, we ask for Your healing touch upon his body and mind. You have said that You will restore health to us and heal us of our wounds as Jeremiah 30:17 says, and that You forgive all our iniquities and heal all our diseases as Psalm 103:3 says. We ask You to ease his pain, to strengthen his mind, to lift the heaviness and fatigue, and to grant wisdom to doctors and counselors who may help him. We pray You would renew his strength, for You give power to the weak and increase the strength of him who has no might as Isaiah 40:29 says, and You invite all who labor and are heavily burdened to come to You for rest as Matthew 11:28 says. Father, we also lift up his financial need to You, asking that You would provide for him according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus as Philippians 4:19 says, and teach him to walk in stewardship and contentment while trusting You. Above all we pray that Your will be done in his life, for we know Your plans are for peace and not for evil, to give hope and a future as Jeremiah 29:11 says. Keep him close, guard him from returning to alcohol, surround him with godly fellowship and accountability, and let him grow daily in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. We ask all this in Jesus' name, Amen.

We encourage you to remain steadfast in fellowship, in the Word, in prayer, and in a Bible believing local church where you can be discipled and supported. Continue to seek appropriate medical and counseling help for the physical and mental health effects, trusting that God often heals through means as well as miracles. Walk in the truth that you are no longer a worthless sinner but a forgiven, beloved child of God, and let that identity give you hope to press on.

We are so grateful you wrote and we rejoice with you that you are back in fellowship with the Lord. After 40 years away, coming home is cause for thanksgiving, and we thank God with you for His mercy that welcomed you back.

We hear how weary you are. Living with ongoing pain, exhaustion and financial pressure wears a person down, and it makes sense you feel tired of being tired. Years of alcohol use can leave lasting marks on the body and mind, and healing often comes slowly, not all at once. Please be gentle with yourself in that process.

Alongside prayer, we encourage you to keep your doctor involved for both the physical pain and the mental strain you mentioned, and a trusted pastor or counselor who can walk with you regularly. You do not have to carry this alone, and having steady support can make the slow days more bearable.

We are praying for you.

Father, thank You for drawing our brother back to Yourself and for Your forgiveness through Jesus. We ask for Your mercy over his body and mind, for relief where possible, for wisdom for those caring for him, and for daily strength and provision. Guide him step by step according to Your will and remind him he is valued and loved in Christ. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. To hear that after forty years of wandering you are again in fellowship with God brings rejoicing, for it is the Lord who seeks His own and restores their souls. Your plain confession that you are a sinner, and yet born again by the grace of God in Christ, is itself a token of life. The dead feel no grief over sin and no longing after holiness, but you do.

You write that you are tired of being in pain, tired of being broke, tired of being tired. In such an hour our memory of God's goodness is often crushed down by a sense of present pain, and when we suffer from sharp pains and weary aches we are prone to forget the days of mercy and remember only the intervals of sorrow. Do not let present weariness hide from you what the Lord has already done in bringing you back to Himself. If you feel often so sad and full of pain, remember that pain is as good a proof of life as pleasure. As rheumatic pain proves the body lives, so anxiety over your estate before God, hatred of sin and grief over imperfection are sure signs of spiritual life. Do not worry yourself therefore as though your sorrow proved you graceless. It proves you live.

You trace your bodily and mental afflictions to many years of foolish drinking. Scripture warns us that sin brings forth bitter fruit, and the blows of sin at last come home. You may crush in a moment, but you cannot so speedily cure. You know how it is with our bodies, if we suffer long from illness, when the pain is gone there is a dreadful weakness left and we require time to regain strength. The man that long has tossed upon the weary bed of pain does not at once run and leap as he did before. Restoration is a long process and weakened limbs only recover strength by slow degrees. Wonder not if recovery should be slow, and as you grow a little stronger, and a little stronger, acknowledge in each increase of strength that the Lord has a new claim upon your affection.

We wait for more than present relief. We wait for the redemption of our body, and we shall not wait in vain, for Christ is the Savior of our body as well as of our soul, and the day shall come when even our bodies shall be free from pain, weakness, weariness, sin and death. Happy day. Until that day He is able to sustain you in poverty and weariness, for He knows your frame and He knows what you need.

O Lord, our Father, we thank Thee for sovereign grace which has brought this Thy child back into fellowship after long wandering. Forgive, heal and restore. Lay Thy healing hand upon body and mind which have been sorely bruised by sin. Give patience in slow recovery, daily strength according to daily need, and provision in poverty. Keep this soul from despair, keep memory alive to Thy past mercies, and keep hope fixed upon the redemption of the body yet to come. Let Thy will be done in this life, and let Christ be magnified whether by health or by patient endurance. Comfort the weary and make the tired heart to rest in Him who alone saves. Amen.
