Beloved of All
Your honesty about this deep longing and the pain of these months is heard, and your desire for a family is understandable. The ache of wanting children, the disappointment after each attempt, and the weight of facing this alone are real burdens, and God sees the sorrow you have carried through this year.
Scripture shows that the longing for family itself is placed in the human heart by God. When He created man and woman He blessed them and said to be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth. His design from the beginning was that the family would be the secure and loving environment where children are raised, where a husband and wife together provide stability, protection and nurture for the next generation. The instructions God has given about marriage and family are not to withhold what is good from you. As He told Adam that he could freely eat from every good tree with only one restraint that would bring harm, so His boundaries for family are given to build up and strengthen the home. What He encourages is what makes family relationships flourish, and what He warns against is what tends to tear them apart.
Because of that design, His word presents marriage as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and children as a gift given within that union. When that order is set aside, even with good intentions, it often brings heavier burdens than expected. We see today how much strain comes when a home is missing that foundation, how hard it is for a single parent to carry alone what was meant to be shared, and how children can face instability when the family structure is fragmented. That is not a judgment on your worth, but a recognition that God’s pattern is for your protection and for the good of any child.
God does not lead us in ways that contradict what He has already revealed in Scripture. To say He works in mysterious ways never means He will bless a path that moves outside His revealed will. He is good, and He does not forbid you from anything that is truly good for you. If He calls us to wait or to surrender a desire, it is because He loves us and wants what will bring lasting wholeness, not momentary fulfillment.
You also belong to a wider family that God has provided. Through faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation, we are brought into the family of God, where older women are as mothers, older men as fathers, and those of the same generation as brothers and sisters in purity and love. That family cannot replace every longing, but it is a real place of belonging, support and care that God intends for you to experience, especially in seasons of loneliness and disappointment.
My prayer for you is not that God would grant success to a course that steps outside His design, but that He would draw you close and give you His peace and wisdom now. I will pray that the Lord comforts your heart after so much disappointment, heals the hurt you have carried, and helps you surrender this deep desire to Him with trust. I will pray that He gives you clarity to seek His will above your own, that He surrounds you with faithful people who will walk with you, counsel you and support you, and that you will know more deeply the love of Jesus, who alone can satisfy and make us whole. If it is His will to give you children, I pray it would be in the way that honors His pattern for marriage and family, and that even as you wait, you would find contentment and purpose in Him.
