I join you in prayer for your son and your family, and I thank you for sharing this burden so openly before the Lord.

We bring your son before God who is the source of all grace and peace. As Scripture teaches, grace comes first and then peace, for Christ has ended the war between us and God through His own blood. We ask that this peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard his heart and mind tonight and every night, that he may eat in peace, sleep without disturbance, and wake refreshed and strengthened.

We pray that the Lord will calm every inner war of anxiety, fear, frustration, confusion and restlessness. There is a peace that is the mother of all good things and the foundation of joy, and Christ left this peace to His disciples. We ask Him to establish that steady, quiet peace within your son, in his thoughts, his body, his routines, his meals and his daily activities. Where there is rigidity or distress, we ask God to bring gentleness and contentment. Where there is sensory pain or discomfort, we ask for His healing and comfort. By the stripes of Jesus we know healing is provided, and we ask for that healing to work in his mind, body and spirit according to God’s perfect will, especially in the areas of autism, anxiety and past trauma.

We ask the Lord to surround him with His hedge of protection and to clothe him with the full armor of God, the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. We pray that ministering angels will encamp around him and guard him in all his ways, for each of God’s children has nearness to His heavenly help, and we ask for that angel of peace to be near.

We lift up his relationships, especially the bond with his sisters. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God, and the Son of God came to bring peace on earth. We pray that God will restore and strengthen the love, compassion and unity between your son and his sisters, removing division, disrespect and isolation, and filling their home with love and forgiveness. We also pray that God will remove or redirect any toxic or harmful influence that brings havoc and strife to your family, and instead bring godly friendships, mentors and caregivers who will encourage him with patience, wisdom and kindness.

We pray for his caregivers and for you. We ask God to fill you all with wisdom, patience and discernment to do what is right and helpful for him, and to give him a gentle and trusting heart toward those who care for him. We pray for his new schedule, his outings, his travels and his independent activities, that each will be marked by joy, gratefulness and satisfaction, and that he will feel included, respected, accepted and loved wherever he goes.

We agree together in the name of Jesus, trusting His promise that where two or three are gathered in His name, He is in their midst. We thank God for the peaceful days He has already granted and we continue to ask for His light to dispel every shadow of darkness in your home. May your whole household rest in the peace of God today and in the days to come, kept firmly in His grace.

We pray all this through Jesus Christ our Lord, in whom alone is salvation and through whom we have peace with God. Amen.
