Your prayer for your son and your household has been received with care, and I join you in bringing it before the Lord who hears us when we call upon Him.

You have asked for what every parent desires for a child, peaceful rest, calm in body and mind, protection through the night, and joy in the morning. Scripture reminds us that sleep itself is a gift from God. He has bound it into our nature for our good, making night a haven and a medicine for our weariness. When anxiety and heat and broken routines press upon us, we can remember that the One who keeps Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps watches over your son even while he sleeps, and over your daughter and your whole home. We may rest because He does not rest from His care.

You also remember how Christ, who shared our human life and knew weariness and sleep in the boat, showed Himself to be Lord over the wind and the sea with a word of calm. The same Lord has authority to calm restlessness, fear, confusion and every disturbance that would steal peace from your son. He invites all who labor and are heavy laden to come to Him, and He promises to give rest. That rest is deeper than quiet in a room, it is the peace of God that surpasses all understanding, guarding heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

So I pray with you in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to the Father and salvation:

Father, in the name of Jesus, I ask You to pour Your peace upon this son tonight and in every night to come. Grant him sweet and undisturbed sleep, free from bad dreams and fear. Ease the discomfort of the heat, help his body to adjust to the change in his schedule and to the care of his caregiver, and let his meals be received with calm and without distress. Remove what brings torment, anxiety, rigidity and restlessness, and let Your calm rule over his routines, his activities and his interactions. By the stripes of Jesus we ask for healing and restoration in mind, body and spirit, and for grace to meet the challenges of autism, sensory needs and past trauma according to Your perfect will.

Clothe him, Lord, with the full armor You have provided, the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the readiness of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit which is Your Word. Surround him with Your protection and let ministering angels encamp around him. Let no weapon formed against him prosper, and let every influence not of You depart at the name of Jesus.

I ask also for wisdom, patience and discernment for you, for his caregivers, and for all family and friends who support him. Give godly encouragement around him, and strengthen the bonds between him and his siblings with love, compassion and unity. Bless his sister as she studies and needs early rest, and grant her and even her dog quiet and refreshing sleep. Let Your light fill this home and dispel every shadow, and keep this family in all their travels and daily duties.

We thank You that where two or three are gathered in Your name You are present, and that You hear our prayers. Help this family to remain steadfast and to guard their hearts, trusting not in their own strength but in Your faithful keeping. May setbacks be turned to testimonies of Your mercy, and may Your favor rest upon this household.

We ask all this trusting in Your goodness and Your power, for nothing is impossible with You. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

Your prayer reflects such faithful love for your son and for your daughter, and the Lord sees the weight you are carrying in these hot and restless hours with the air conditioner not working, a new schedule and caregiver, and the needs of your household for quiet sleep and study.

Scripture shows that God both sees affliction and hears the cry of the heart. As He looked upon Leah in her sorrow and heard her, so He sees your family now. He was present with Jacob when he was exhausted and lay down to sleep and saw the ladder reaching from earth to heaven with the Lord standing above it. Even in discomfort and sleeplessness, the Lord is near, and His presence has not withdrawn from your home.

That nearness is only through His Son. The only way we are accepted by God is in His Son. He who has the Son has life. Jesus is not a created being like the angels, He is the only begotten Son of God, and He came that all who will may come and drink of the water of life freely. It is in Him that we have peace with God and access to the Father, and it is in His name that we pray with confidence.

The heart of the Father toward His children is like the father who saw his son returning from a far country and ran to him while he was still unclean, embraced him and covered him with love, and put sandals on his feet as a sign that he was restored as a son and not a servant. There was no waiting to be cleaned up first. That is how the Father receives those who come to Him through Jesus, with joy and with full restoration.

The wisdom given to us as parents is to keep the Word of God continually before our hearts. We are told to bind the instruction of the Father upon our hearts, and the promise is that when we go it will lead us, when we sleep it will keep us, and when we awake it will speak with us. Praying that truth over your son through the night is a way of asking God to let His Word guard his sleep and give calm to his waking.

We join you in praying for the peace of God that surpasses all understanding to guard your son and your whole household. We ask the Lord to rebuke fear, torment, anxiety, frustration and confusion, and to quiet restlessness and distress. May the Lord clothe him with the full armor of God, the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the readiness of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. May ministering angels encamp around him and around your daughter and her dog, and keep you all in safety, for no weapon formed against those who are in Christ shall prosper.

We pray for healing and restoration in mind, body and spirit. By the stripes of Jesus we are healed, as Isaiah 53:5 declares, and we ask the Lord to remove sources of physical discomfort and sensory distress, to bless his meals that he may eat in peace without discomfort, to give him deep and sweet sleep without bad dreams and to let him wake refreshed and satisfied. We ask for calm over his schedule, routines, activities and interactions, that he may adjust with ease and communicate with gentleness and confidence.

We pray also for wisdom, patience and discernment for you, for his caregivers, and for your family and friends, and for godly mentors and companions to encourage him. We ask the Lord to strengthen the bonds between him and his siblings with love, compassion and unity, and to remove division and isolation.

God is not a man that He should lie, nor does He change His mind like a son of man. What He has spoken He will make good. His Word cannot be broken and He honors it above all. Where two or three are gathered in His name, He is in their midst, as Jesus said in Matthew 18:20, and we stand in agreement with you that He hears and will answer according to His perfect will. We thank Him for the victories He has already won and for the work He is doing even now, and we ask Him to fill your home with His light, dispelling every shadow, and to keep you all in His care in your travels and daily activities. In the name of Jesus, amen.

We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and we are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer for your son and your household.

We have continued to lift up your son before the Lord, that he would have sweet peaceful rest with no bad dreams, and that the peace of God which surpasses all understanding would guard his heart and mind as it is written in Philippians 4:7. We prayed that the Lord would help him to rest well even with the heat in the house from the air conditioner not working, and to adjust with calmness and quietness to his new schedule with his caregiver with no negative behaviors, restlessness, or anxiety. We also joined you in praying for his meals to be peaceful and without discomfort, for healing in his mind body and spirit according to Isaiah 53:5, and for the Lord to surround him with His hedge of protection and His ministering angels, and to clothe him with the full armor of God. We remembered your younger daughter and her dog as well, asking the Lord to grant them peaceful and restful sleep and to help your daughter as she studies and needs to be up early.

We rebuked every spirit of fear, torment, anxiety and confusion in Jesus Name and declared His peace and joy over your son and over your entire home, trusting the promise that when we lie down we shall sleep in peace as written in Psalm 4:8.

If your request was answered and your son has been sleeping peacefully, eating with comfort, remaining calm and quiet through the night, and adjusting well to the heat and to his caregiver, please post a praise report and let us all know so we may rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

We pray in Jesus Name for the Lord to continue to pour out His calm, healing and protection over your son and to fill your home with His presence and safety. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.
