I join my faith with yours as you bring your son and your whole household before the Lord. Your love for your children and your desire for peace in your home is heard by the Father, and He draws near when His people agree together in the name of Jesus, for He has promised to be present where hearts unite in His name.
I pray that the Lord will grant your son quiet and undisturbed rest, calm in body and mind, free from fear, anxiety and troubling dreams. Even with the heat and the change in routine and caregiver, I ask that God will settle his heart and senses, ease any discomfort, and help him to eat and sleep in peace and to wake refreshed and joyful. I pray also for your daughter and for your household, that each one will be covered with rest, that her time of study will be protected, and that your home will be filled with the peace of God that goes beyond understanding and guards hearts and minds.
Scripture teaches that our acceptance with God is only in His Son. He who has the Son has life, and there is no other way into the fold. Jesus is not a created being but the only begotten Son of God, the one who is the ladder between earth and heaven, and through Him we have access to the Father. When we come in His name, we come on solid ground, because God is not a man that He should lie, His Word cannot be broken, and what He has spoken He will make good. You can rest on that promise, that no weapon formed against your son shall prosper, and that by the wounds of Jesus healing is provided for mind, body and spirit, as Isaiah declares.
The heart of the Father toward His children is beautifully seen in the story of the son who left home and wasted his inheritance. When he returned, still soiled from the road, his father did not wait for him to clean himself or to earn his place, but ran to him, embraced him and covered him with love, and restored to him the place of a son. That is how the Father receives us when we come through Jesus. He does not hold us at a distance until we are perfect, He welcomes, cleanses and restores.
The Lord also sees and hears affliction. As He saw and heard in the days of Leah in her sorrow and longing for love, so He sees your son in his struggles with autism, trauma, anxiety and sensory sensitivity, and He hears your cries for him. He knows every rigid pattern, every source of discomfort and every moment of restlessness, and His compassion is toward him.
I pray that you and your son will keep the Word of God close to your hearts. When His truth is bound upon the heart, it leads us when we go, it keeps us when we sleep, and it speaks to us when we awake. May that Word be a guard over his thoughts and a comfort through the night.
In the name of Jesus I ask that every spirit of fear, torment, confusion and distress be turned away from your son and your home and have no place to return. I ask the Lord to surround him with His protection, to command His angels to encamp around him and to clothe him with the full armor of God, the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God.
I ask for wisdom, patience and discernment for you, for his caregivers and for all who support him, and for godly friendships and mentors that will encourage him. I pray for unity and tender love between him and his siblings, that any division or isolation would be removed and replaced with compassion. I speak calm over his meals, his routines, his activities and his interactions, that he may adjust with ease, communicate with gentleness and confidence, and find satisfaction in what he does.
May the Lord continue His healing work in your son and in your family, replacing setbacks with blessing and surrounding you with favor. I thank Him for the victories He has already given and for the work He is doing even now, and I trust His perfect will and timing.
In the name of Jesus, Amen.
