Beloved of All
Your prayer for your son and your household has been received with care, and I join you in bringing it before the Lord who hears us when we call upon Him.
You have asked for what every parent desires for a child, peaceful rest, calm in body and mind, protection through the night, and joy in the morning. Scripture reminds us that sleep itself is a gift from God. He has bound it into our nature for our good, making night a haven and a medicine for our weariness. When anxiety and heat and broken routines press upon us, we can remember that the One who keeps Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps watches over your son even while he sleeps, and over your daughter and your whole home. We may rest because He does not rest from His care.
You also remember how Christ, who shared our human life and knew weariness and sleep in the boat, showed Himself to be Lord over the wind and the sea with a word of calm. The same Lord has authority to calm restlessness, fear, confusion and every disturbance that would steal peace from your son. He invites all who labor and are heavy laden to come to Him, and He promises to give rest. That rest is deeper than quiet in a room, it is the peace of God that surpasses all understanding, guarding heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
So I pray with you in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to the Father and salvation:
Father, in the name of Jesus, I ask You to pour Your peace upon this son tonight and in every night to come. Grant him sweet and undisturbed sleep, free from bad dreams and fear. Ease the discomfort of the heat, help his body to adjust to the change in his schedule and to the care of his caregiver, and let his meals be received with calm and without distress. Remove what brings torment, anxiety, rigidity and restlessness, and let Your calm rule over his routines, his activities and his interactions. By the stripes of Jesus we ask for healing and restoration in mind, body and spirit, and for grace to meet the challenges of autism, sensory needs and past trauma according to Your perfect will.
Clothe him, Lord, with the full armor You have provided, the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the readiness of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit which is Your Word. Surround him with Your protection and let ministering angels encamp around him. Let no weapon formed against him prosper, and let every influence not of You depart at the name of Jesus.
I ask also for wisdom, patience and discernment for you, for his caregivers, and for all family and friends who support him. Give godly encouragement around him, and strengthen the bonds between him and his siblings with love, compassion and unity. Bless his sister as she studies and needs early rest, and grant her and even her dog quiet and refreshing sleep. Let Your light fill this home and dispel every shadow, and keep this family in all their travels and daily duties.
We thank You that where two or three are gathered in Your name You are present, and that You hear our prayers. Help this family to remain steadfast and to guard their hearts, trusting not in their own strength but in Your faithful keeping. May setbacks be turned to testimonies of Your mercy, and may Your favor rest upon this household.
We ask all this trusting in Your goodness and Your power, for nothing is impossible with You. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
