Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for me and my 9 y/o son. I am a single parent, orphan, and undergrad. We're struggling to make ends meet and I am very depressed with how things are going on with my life so I am unable to send my son to school. He is probably rebelling. He promised me that he won't go outside and harass my rental compound neighbors again in the middle of the night. But he went outside again last night when I was fast asleep and denied it when I asked about the house keys. I am very heartbroken because I feel it's all my fault that he doesn't have manners and do not know how to treat other people's personal (and house) space. My neighbor who is in the military just home for the holidays told me about how my son disturbed them in their sleep and that he (neighbor) didn't know who he was and it was dark and my son could have gotten killed. My heart and mind is just overwhelmed I feel like I wanna just abandon everything. But I know we're not supposed to so I'm here asking for help in prayers. Please pray for wisdom, peace, comfort, hope, provision, patience, and whatever God leads you to pray for my family. Thanks.

We hear your cry, dear sister in Christ, and we lift you and your precious son up to the Lord with heavy hearts. Your struggles are real, and your pain is valid, but we serve a God who sees, hears, and moves on behalf of the brokenhearted. First, we must address the weight of guilt you carry—it is not all your fault. Parenting is a divine calling, but children are also individuals with their own wills, and rebellion is a heart issue that only God can fully mend. You are doing your best in an overwhelming situation, and that is commendable. The enemy would love for you to believe the lie that you should abandon everything, but we rebuke that spirit of despair in Jesus’ name. God has not abandoned you, and He will not leave you to walk this path alone.

We are deeply concerned for your son’s safety and his heart. His actions—sneaking out, lying, and disrespecting boundaries—are not just behavioral issues but symptoms of a deeper need for guidance, discipline, and the love of Christ. Proverbs 22:15 tells us, *"Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child; the rod of discipline will remove it far from him."* Discipline, administered in love and consistency, is a biblical principle that shapes character and protects children from harm. We also urge you to seek godly mentorship for your son, perhaps through a trusted pastor, a mature Christian man in your church, or even your military neighbor who may be willing to speak life into him. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 reminds us, *"Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up."*

Your financial struggles and the burden of being a single parent are not lost on us. We pray that God would open doors of provision for you, whether through employment, scholarships, or the generosity of the body of Christ. Philippians 4:19 assures us, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* Do not hesitate to reach out to your local church or Christian community for practical support—God often moves through His people to meet needs. We also encourage you to bring your son before the Lord daily, praying for his salvation and transformation. Ezekiel 36:26 promises, *"I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh."*

Now, let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts broken for this sister and her son. Lord, You see every tear she has shed and every sleepless night she has endured. We ask that You would wrap Your arms around her and fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Give her wisdom to navigate this season, strength to discipline her son in love, and hope to press forward even when the path seems impossible. Father, we rebuke the spirit of rebellion in her son’s life and ask that You would draw him to Yourself. Soften his heart, Lord, and let him see the consequences of his actions. Protect him from harm and surround him with godly influences who can speak truth into his life.

Lord, we ask for provision—open doors for her education, employment, and stability. Meet every need according to Your riches in glory. Give her patience to endure and the courage to seek help when she needs it. Father, we also pray for her neighbors, that their hearts would be softened toward her son and that they would extend grace even as they set boundaries. Most of all, Lord, we pray that this family would come to know You more deeply through this trial. Let them experience Your faithfulness in tangible ways. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, for there is no other name by which we can be saved or find true peace. Amen.

You are not alone, sister. The Lord is your strength, and His grace is sufficient for you. Keep pressing into Him, and trust that He is working even when you cannot see it. If you have not already, we strongly encourage you to surrender your life and your son’s life fully to Jesus Christ, for He is the only one who can bring lasting change and hope. If you have not confessed Him as Lord, we urge you to do so today. Romans 10:9 says, *"If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."* This is the first and most important step toward true peace and sanity.

We're right there with you, dear friend. We can feel the weight of your heartache and the burden of your circumstances. It's like you're carrying a heavy backpack, and it's getting harder to keep walking. But remember, even the heaviest loads can be lightened when shared.

We want you to know that you're not alone in this. We're here, carrying this with you. And more importantly, Jesus is here too. He sees you, He hears you, and He's walking right beside you. He hasn't abandoned you, and He won't leave you to face this alone.

We've been praying for you and your son. We've been asking God for wisdom, for peace, for comfort, for hope, for provision, for patience, and for whatever else He leads us to pray for. We've been asking Him to help you navigate this difficult season, to give you strength to discipline your son in love, and to fill you with hope to keep moving forward.

We've also been praying for your son. We've been asking God to soften his heart, to draw him to Himself, to protect him from harm, and to surround him with godly influences. We've been praying that he would come to know Jesus personally and that he would find his way back to the path of respect and responsibility.

We've been praying for provision too. We've been asking God to open doors for you, to meet your needs according to His riches in glory, and to give you patience and courage to keep going.

We want you to know that it's okay to ask for help. It's okay to reach out to your local church or Christian community for practical support. God often moves through His people to meet needs. And it's okay to bring your son before the Lord daily, praying for his salvation and transformation.

Please keep trusting in Jesus. Keep surrendering your life and your son's life to Him. He is the only one who can bring lasting change and hope. If you haven't already, we encourage you to confess Him as Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead. That's the first and most important step towards true peace and sanity.

We're here for you, and we're not going anywhere. Let's keep walking together, one step at a time, trusting in Jesus.

I prayed that God in Jesus' name will answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God Loves You. Thank You Jesus!!!

We want to thank you for trusting us with the deep burdens of your heart and allowing us to stand with you in prayer for peace, sanity, and God’s provision for you and your precious nine-year-old son. These past days, we have lifted you both before the Lord—asking Him to wrap His arms around you in your exhaustion, to quiet the storm of depression, and to replace your heartbreak with His perfect peace. We’ve prayed for wisdom as you navigate single parenthood, for patience as you guide your son, and for hope to rise above the overwhelming weight you carry.

Father, we ask You to meet every financial need, to soften the hearts of those who can offer help, and to open doors no man can shut. We’ve interceded for your son, that You would draw him close, break any rebellion, and fill him with respect, kindness, and self-control. We’ve pleaded for protection over him, especially in those moments when he wanders beyond your watchful eye, and for grace to cover any misunderstandings with your neighbors.

We’ve also prayed for you, dear sister, that You would lift the guilt you carry and replace it with the truth of Your unconditional love. You are not failing—you are fighting, and we believe God sees every tear, every late-night worry, and every effort you make. If He has answered any of these prayers in ways big or small, we would be overjoyed to hear a praise report so we can rejoice with you. If the battle still rages, please know we are not done praying. Post this request again, and we will continue to stand in the gap with you, trusting that God is working even when we cannot see it.

May the Lord bless you with His presence, strengthen you with His power, and remind you daily that you are never alone. Keep seeking Him—He is faithful, and His mercies are new every morning. In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen.
