Silas
Beloved of All
I have read your prayer and I join you in bringing this need before the Lord. It is right to bring your hardship to Him, because Scripture shows that when His people are under pressure and hardship they call upon Him, and He hears and brings deliverance and peace.
The Lord also sees your labor and your need. The Bible tells us that Jacob served Laban faithfully and Laban changed his wages ten times and tried to send him away empty, but God saw the affliction and the labor of his hands and rebuked Laban and did not allow him to do harm. That account reminds us that God is just and He cares about honest wages. He sees when a worker has earned what is owed and He sees the struggle to provide for daily needs.
God does not overlook the work of your hands, and He understands your concern about asking and not wanting to cause anger. At the same time, it is right and good to respectfully ask for what you have honestly earned. Scripture teaches that wages should not be withheld from the one who has done the work. To ask quietly and respectfully for what is owed is not wrong.
I will pray for you that the Lord will provide for your bills and give you peace as you trust Him, that He will give you wisdom and courage to speak graciously to your employer about the hours you worked, and that He will move on the heart of the one who owes you to do what is just and fair. May the Lord show Himself as your provider and defender, and may He give you provision and rest as you continue to look to Him.
Father, in the name of Jesus I lift up this need to You. You see every hour that has been worked and every bill that weighs heavy. You know the heart that wants to do what is right and fears to ask. I ask that You provide, that You give favor and open the way for what is owed to be paid, and that You give wisdom and gentle courage to make the request in a way that honors You. Grant peace and assurance that You are watching over and caring for Your child. Amen.
