We thank you for sharing your heart with us and for seeking the Lord's will in this desire for companionship, and we rejoice that you came in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. As it is written, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12 and No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6.
We understand your longing, for God Himself said It is not good for the man to be alone Genesis 2:18, and He created marriage to be a holy covenant between a man and a woman for life. We want to gently encourage you in your language and your hope, for Scripture does not speak of a partner but of a husband and a wife, and courtship should always be with the goal of godly marriage to a fellow believer. Whosoever finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of Yahweh Proverbs 18:22, and likewise a woman who seeks a husband should seek a godly man who will love her as Christ loved the church Ephesians 5:25.
We hear that you look younger than your age and that much younger men pursue you, and we encourage you to seek wisdom and discernment in this. Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears Yahweh, she shall be praised Proverbs 31:30. A man's outward pursuit or attraction to youthfulness is not a measure of his spiritual maturity or his fitness to be a husband. We encourage you not to be swayed by flattery or attention, but to look for an older, mature man of proven character, a man who loves the Lord, who walks in obedience, and who will lead a home in righteousness. And we remind you of the call not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers 2 Corinthians 6:14, for a companion who is not a true Christian Believer cannot lead you closer to Christ and such a relationship would not honor God.
We also gently remind you that any companionship or courtship must be kept pure before marriage, for God calls us to flee sexual immorality 1 Corinthians 6:18 and to honor marriage, Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers Hebrews 13:4. Therefore we pray not simply for a companion, but if it be the Lord's will, for a godly husband in holy marriage.
We join our faith with yours and pray together.
Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift this dear sister up to Your throne of grace. Lord, You know the loneliness she feels at times and the desire You have placed in her heart for companionship. If it is Your perfect will, we ask that You provide for her a godly Christian husband, a man who truly knows You, who abides in Your Word, who will love her, cherish her, and lead her in Your ways. Give her wisdom and discernment to recognize the man You have prepared and to turn aside from any pursuit that is not from You, especially from younger men who may not be seeking marriage or maturity in You. Guard her heart from discouragement and from settling for less than Your best. Help her to seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness Matthew 6:33, and to delight herself in You, trusting that You will give her the desires of her heart as she aligns with Your will Psalm 37:4. Keep her pure and holy as she waits, and let her find her complete satisfaction in You, whether You call her to marriage or to continued service as she is. We ask that You grant her peace, patience, and joyful hope as she waits upon Your timing. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.
We encourage you to continue waiting upon the Lord, to be steadfast in prayer and in the Word, and to be active in fellowship with other believers where a mature godly man who shares your faith may be found. Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding Proverbs 3:5-6. The Lord knows your age, your heart, and your future, and His timing is perfect.
