Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your heart for your son and your daughter and your home. Your love and your faithful prayers for them are seen by the Lord, and He hears your cry.
Scripture shows us that God sees affliction and hears the voice of those who call on Him. Like a mother who hoped that another son would finally bring love and security, we can spend our lives looking for peace in circumstances, but true peace is not found in a perfect schedule or a quiet house. It is found in being known and loved by the Father. He has seen your weariness and He has heard your prayers in the night, and He draws near to you not because everything is calm, but because you are His.
The only way any of us can come to the Father and be accepted by Him is through His Son. To have the Son is to have life, and that invitation is open to all who will believe. Jesus once asked a man who had just received his sight, Do you believe on the Son of God, and when the man asked who He was, Jesus answered that He was right there speaking to him. That same Jesus is present with you now. He is not distant. He is the ladder between heaven and earth, the one through whom God reaches down to us, and through whom we can come to God. When you place your trust in Him, you are brought into the family not as a servant who must earn a place, but as a child who is welcomed home.
That picture of the Father's heart is shown when a young son wasted his inheritance and came home with nothing, prepared to ask only to be a hired worker. Before the son could even finish his confession, his father ran to him, embraced him while he was still unclean, and covered him with love. He put shoes on his feet as a sign that he was restored as a son, and he called for a celebration because the one who was lost had been found. That is how your heavenly Father receives you when you come to Him through Jesus. You do not have to clean yourself up first. He meets you in the exhaustion and the agitation and the long nights, and He covers you with mercy.
Because you belong to Him, He also cares for your son with that same fatherly compassion. He knows the anxiety, the rigidity, the sensory struggles and the restlessness that so quickly overwhelm him. He knows the effort it takes for him to adjust to a new caregiver and a new routine, to eat without discomfort and to rest without fear. The Word says that by the wounds of Jesus we are healed, and that God gives wisdom to those who ask. We can ask Him for healing and wholeness for your son in body, mind and spirit, for calm in his routines and meals and interactions, and for gentle, clear communication. We can ask Him to lift fear and torment and confusion, and to fill that place with His peace that goes beyond all understanding and guards the heart.
Praying for protection is right and biblical. You asked for a hedge around him, for ministering angels to encamp around him, and for the full armor of God to clothe him. Scripture does teach that God commands His angels to guard His children, and that He gives us truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, salvation and His Word as armor to stand against every attack. No weapon formed against those who are in Christ will finally succeed, because they are held by Him.
We also pray for wisdom, patience and discernment for you, for his caregivers, and for your whole family. The Scriptures often speak as a father to a son, saying hear my instruction, keep my words, and walk in wisdom. God delights to give that wisdom when we ask, and His discipline and training in our lives is not rejection but proof that we are His sons and daughters whom He loves. He is shaping your home in love, and He can strengthen the bonds between your son and his siblings with compassion and unity, and provide encouraging, godly friendships around him.
So together we bring your requests before the Lord, believing His promise that when two or three agree in the name of Jesus, He is present among them. We ask the Father in the name of Jesus to grant your son calm and satisfaction, to bless his meals and his rest so he may eat in peace and sleep and wake refreshed, to ease his transition with his caregiver and keep your home quiet and safe. We ask Him to grant your younger daughter peaceful rest and a good beginning to her school days, and to keep your household and all your daily travels under His watchful care. We ask Him to let His light fill your home and drive away every shadow, and to let His joy and strength be evident in your son's life so that he reflects the grace of God to others.
May the Lord continue to show you His faithfulness in these small victories you have already seen and in the greater works He is still doing. Keep looking to Jesus, the only begotten Son of God, who was given out of the Father's great love so that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life. In Him you have acceptance, forgiveness and peace with God, and in Him your family can rest securely.
