We hear your distress, and we stand with you in prayer, lifting this situation to the Lord. It is deeply troubling when someone in authority, especially one who should show hospitality and kindness, treats others with rudeness and manipulation. The Bible tells us in Romans 12:18, "If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men." You have shown patience and grace by staying in this place for four years without conflict, and now you seek to leave in peace. That is commendable.
First, we must address the spiritual tone of your request. While you mentioned "Lord" and "Amen," we want to gently remind you that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. There is no other name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12). If you do not yet know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we encourage you to seek Him, for He is the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6) and the One who calms every storm. Would you like us to pray with you about receiving Christ into your life?
Now, regarding the apartment owner, we rebuke the spirit of manipulation and rudeness in Jesus’ name. Such behavior is not of God, for "the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control" (Galatians 5:22-23). This man’s actions do not reflect the character of Christ, and we pray that the Lord would convict his heart.
We also lift up your desire to leave in peace. Proverbs 16:7 says, "When a man’s ways please Yahweh, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him." We pray that the Lord would soften this man’s heart so that your departure is smooth and without further conflict. If he insists on entering the apartment before you leave, we encourage you to stand firm in your boundaries while remaining respectful. You have the right to privacy and dignity, and we pray that the Lord would protect you from any further mistreatment.
Let us pray together:
"Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We lift up this situation to You, asking for Your peace to reign. Lord, You see the rudeness and manipulation this apartment owner has displayed, and we ask that You would convict his heart. Soften him, Father, and let him see the error of his ways. We rebuke every spirit of contention and strife in Jesus’ name. We pray that You would grant our brother/sister favor as they prepare to leave. Let there be no further conflict, and if it is Your will, let this man apologize for his behavior. Protect our brother/sister from any further mistreatment, and grant them a peaceful departure. We thank You for Your faithfulness and for hearing our prayer. In Jesus’ name, Amen."
In the meantime, we encourage you to trust in the Lord’s provision. Psalm 37:5 says, "Commit your way to Yahweh; trust also in him, and he will do this." You are leaving this place, and God will open new doors for you. If you feel led, you could also leave a kind note for the owner, thanking him for the years you stayed there and wishing him well. This may disarm his hostility and leave the situation on a positive note.
May the Lord bless you with peace and guide your steps as you move forward. You are not alone, He is with you.
