The owner of my seaside appartement

Natasha 2

Servant of All
I am on my summer hollydays at the seacoast. The owner of my appartement is being very nervous and aggressive, impatience...he is taking care of his mother who is almost blind, old and barely mobile. Please pray that he would experience releif/pause and help me whatever i need. I have an impression that he is to much controlling towards his mother and towards me. Please pray for him as the Holy spirit leads you. He is praising himself, his appartement, his cleaneness, how his prices are low and God forbidd i say any critique. I asked him couple of things and he has not done it or has forgotten or has done it 50%., and this is his job, he is payed for it. He asked me last year some extra money for cleaning lady and i have left my appartement pretty much clean. This year garbage can smelled awfully after cigarettes and some kitchen stuff smelled bad after old bacon. I have washed that all but i have nothing said to him. Lord let any evil spirit leave him and stop torturing me or anyone around him. I pray also for his salvation. He asked me to pray for his brother in hospital but he is not going to church or reading Bible or praying so...

We hear your distress and the weight of this situation, and we lift it before the Lord with hearts full of compassion and truth. The aggression, impatience, and controlling behavior you describe are not of God, for Scripture tells us, "The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control" (Galatians 5:22-23 WEB). When these fruits are absent, it is often a sign of spiritual oppression or unchecked sin in a person’s life. We rebuke in Jesus’ name any spirit of pride, control, or torment that may be influencing the owner of your apartment. The Lord does not delight in arrogance or self-praise, for "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble" (James 4:6 WEB).

We also lift up his mother before the Lord. The elderly and infirm are to be honored and cared for with dignity, as Scripture commands: "Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you" (Exodus 20:12 WEB). If his treatment of her is harsh or controlling, it grieves the heart of God, who calls us to love one another as He has loved us (John 13:34 WEB). We pray for her protection, comfort, and peace, and that she would experience the tender care of the Lord even in her limitations.

As for his neglect of his responsibilities toward you, we are reminded that "whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them" (Matthew 7:12 WEB). He is failing in his duty, and his pride blinds him to his own shortcomings. We pray that the Holy Spirit would convict him of his sin and lead him to repentance. His self-praise and defensiveness reveal a heart that is not surrendered to God, for "let another man praise you, and not your own mouth; a stranger, and not your own lips" (Proverbs 27:2 WEB).

We must also address the absence of Christ in his life. You mentioned he is not going to church, reading the Bible, or praying, yet he asked you to pray for his brother. This is a contradiction, for "the prayer of the upright is His delight" (Proverbs 15:8 WEB), but the prayers of the unrepentant are hindered. We pray for his salvation, that he would come to know Jesus as Lord and Savior, for "there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12 WEB). Without Christ, there is no true peace, no lasting joy, and no freedom from the bondage of sin.

We stand with you in prayer, asking the Lord to grant you wisdom, patience, and peace during your stay. We pray that He would intervene in this situation, softening the owner’s heart and bringing conviction where it is needed. May the Lord rebuke any evil influence in his life and replace it with the fruit of the Spirit. We also ask that you would be protected from any further mistreatment or manipulation, for "the Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade on your right hand" (Psalm 121:5 WEB).

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this man and his mother to You, asking that You would break the chains of pride, control, and unbelief in his life. Father, we pray for his salvation, that he would turn from his sin and surrender his heart to You. Soften his heart, Lord, and fill him with Your Spirit so that he may bear the fruit of love, patience, and humility.

We also pray for his mother, that she would feel Your presence and comfort in her weakness. Protect her from any mistreatment and surround her with Your peace. Father, we ask that You would intervene in this situation with the owner, that he would fulfill his responsibilities with integrity and treat others with kindness. Grant wisdom and grace to this dear sister in Christ as she navigates this difficult time. Shield her from any harm or anxiety, and let her rest in the knowledge that You are her refuge and strength.

Lord, we rebuke any spirit of torment or oppression that may be at work in this situation. We declare that in the name of Jesus, every evil influence must flee. Fill this man with Your Holy Spirit, and let Your light shine in the darkness of his heart. We trust in Your perfect justice and mercy, knowing that You will bring all things to right in Your time.

In Jesus’ precious name, we pray. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We can only imagine how unsettling it is to arrive for a holiday and find the person in charge so wound up. Your patience in quietly cleaning up rather than confronting him speaks well of you.

Caring for a mother who is nearly blind and barely mobile is an unrelenting, 24/7 load. Many family caregivers end up exhausted, and burnout often spills over into irritability, forgetfulness, and a need to control whatever else they can, because so much else feels out of control. That doesn't excuse his behavior, but it helps us see the pressure cooker he may be living in. It sounds like he’s stretched thin and perhaps lonely in it all, especially since he asked you to pray even though he doesn't practice faith himself.

While you're there, you might try keeping your requests simple and direct, but also give yourself permission to let go of what he can't manage. You aren't responsible for fixing him or his work; you’re there to rest. If something truly essential still needs doing, a gentle, practical reminder, focusing on the one thing that matters most to you, might cut through better than several items at once. Beyond that, guard your own peace. His stress doesn't have to become yours.

Let's pray.

Father, we lift up this apartment owner and his mother. You see the weight he carries each day. Grant him genuine relief and moments of pause. Calm his spirit, help him treat those around him with patience, and draw him to yourself even through the brother in hospital. We ask you to meet our friend's practical needs during this stay, smooth the details, shield her from unnecessary tension, and let this still be a time of genuine rest. We pray for the brother's healing, and above all, for this man's salvation. In Jesus' name, Amen.

It is a mercy you see this man’s soul beneath his bluster, a soul at war with God is opposed to its own best interests, and the nervous, aggressive spirit you describe is the outward sign of an inward conflict. No possible benefit can arise from a conflict in which we are on the wrong side, and your landlord, boasting of himself, his apartment, his cleanliness and low prices, is fortifying himself with his own righteousness. That is a beggarly peace, a cowardly kind of peace fit only for those who shut their eyes. Yet the Lord is calling him to set his house in order, not merely his premises. He is a tenant himself, in a body that decays, caring for a mother whose sight fails, and he knows not when his lease expires. A thoughtful walk in the cemetery would be good for his soul’s health.

You have done well to hold your tongue and wash the garbage can, grace covers a multitude of irritations, but now carry his burden in prayer. You cannot repent for him, you cannot believe for him, but you can believe about him and lay him at Jesus’ feet. The impression you have of his controlling spirit is a trial permitted for your own good, a yoke in this summertime of your life that may strengthen and establish you. The hardest thing to endure is often a proud person’s self-praise when their work is done by halves, yet the Lord Jesus Christ was patient with far worse. Your landlord has even asked prayer for his brother; that is a crevice of light. He is a man whose religion consists in laying heavy burdens on others while carrying none himself, but you may be the one to lightly bear his weight for a season while pointing him to the One who bore it all.

Peace will not come to him through your appeasement or his self-assertion, but only in believing. The blood of Jesus whispers peace within. Pray that the Holy Spirit would empty him of himself, no mere Nature ever did that, and bring him to Jesus, who alone can set his disordered house in order. The Lord can make that man, so nervous and aggressive, to be filled with a peace that meets every need of the heart. Continue in your quiet kindness, but do not expect your summer holiday to be perfectly peaceful; it is given you to bear your own burden of prayer and witness, even under an unreasonable eye.

Remember, there is a point beyond which you cannot go in bearing another’s burden. You have not given him the critique his pride could not bear; that is well. You have cleaned what he left foul; that is Christian. Now go on praying for his salvation, and for the relief the Holy Spirit sees he needs, not mere relaxation from his duties, but true pause from his enmity against God. Satan would keep him fretting and controlling; pray that any evil spirit leave him and that the peace of God, which passes all understanding, would garrison that seaside apartment and his mother’s sickroom.

Let your own mind be stayed on Christ. You asked him for things and he forgot; your true Landlord never forgets. All things work together for your good. You go in peace now, not because the owner is transformed overnight, but because your faith has saved you and the Lord who dismissed the forgiven woman dismissed her into a lifelong peace. Breathe that peace in his presence, and perhaps he will taste it too. It is good to bear the yoke in your youth, even the yoke of a vexing summer, for there must be time for striking root in divine things. The Lord make it so. Amen.

Your letter reveals a soul seeking peace amid a storm of worldly trouble, and you have done well to bring these things to the church in prayer rather than to repay sharpness with sharpness. You have already shown the mark of a Christian by cleansing the foul odors in silence and refraining from accusation. This is to “think on whatsoever things are honorable, whatsoever things are pure,” and to give no handle of reproach. For it is better to suffer a small wrong than to kindle a great fire by a harsh word.

But you must understand that the peace we are commanded to pursue is not the false peace of robbers agreeing together. When Christ said, “I have not come to send peace, but a sword,” He meant that a holy discord sometimes must come, that the diseased part might be cut away and true health restored. So do not confuse silence with approval of sin. You see this man praising himself, controlling his frail mother, neglecting his paid duties, and yet demanding extra money. His works are plain, and you are right to discern the spirits at work. Yet your first battlefield is your own heart. Hear the Lord: “What are you harmed by the trouble of the world, provided you be at peace with Me?” For if your soul is anchored in Christ, the blustering of men cannot cast you down. The external things may toss you, but the inner peace Christ gives makes you stronger than any storm.

Therefore, do not let his agitation become yours. You had no relief for your spirit, just as Paul had no relief when he could not find Titus, but Paul did not abandon the work. So you, though troubled, must not abandon the path of love. “Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no one shall see the Lord.” This peace is the mother of all good things, and the peacemakers shall be called sons of God. But the makers of disturbance are sons of the devil. When you quietly cleaned the garbage can, you poured coals of kindness on his head and perhaps robbed the devil of a foothold. Continue in such works, so far as lies within you, without becoming a partner in injustice.

As for his request that you pray for his brother in the hospital, you must do so with all earnestness, even if the man himself does not pray or enter a church. The prayer of the righteous avails much, and God often grants healing to the body as a door for the healing of the soul. Pray also for the old mother, that her remaining sight not be darkened by impatience. And for the son, pray that the evil spirits of pride, anger, and love of money leave him, but remember that the demons go out only when a stronger one enters. Therefore pray fervently for his salvation, that the Spirit of truth and meekness would take possession of that house.

Consider too whether you might be God’s instrument of relief. The believers of old determined to send help to the afflicted disciples, and perhaps a small act of service to that nearly blind mother, a gentle visit, an offer to sit with her for an hour, might cool his fevered mind and show him a love not of this world. Do not do it with fanfare or expecting thanks; let it be a secret loan to the Lord.

Above all, keep your own vigilance. If there be any virtue, if there be any praise, think on these things. Do not let the memory of his faults breed a bitter root within you. When you go to the communion, receive the peace of Christ with all alacrity; and when the presiding minister pronounces “Peace be unto all,” let there be no war in your heart against this man. For how shall you partake of the Body that was broken for peace if you are rent by inward discord?

The Lord, who sends both relief and trial, knows how to deliver the godly out of temptation. Commend yourself and this troubled landlord to Him who alone can command the winds and waves, “Peace, be still.” So shall your holiday become a school of patience, and perhaps the beginning of salvation for a house that now sits in darkness.

The nervous energy and aggression you are experiencing from this man is the outward sign of a deep inward war. It is not merely impatience or a controlling personality. The Scripture describes such a condition as a troubled sea that cannot rest, constantly churning up its own mire and dirt. That turmoil within him spills over onto you and onto his mother because it is the nature of a heart at enmity with God to lack genuine peace. He is striving in his own strength, praising his own works and his low prices, because his identity and value are built on the crumbling sand of his own performance. That is an exhausting and fearful way to live, and it breeds the very frustration you are facing.

Your prayer for his relief is heard, but his ultimate relief will only come when the war inside him ceases. True peace is not found in a day free from complaints, nor in a well-cleaned apartment. There is only one place of real rest, and that is in the sure foundation God has set: the precious cornerstone, Jesus Christ. God’s thoughts toward this man are thoughts of peace, not of evil, to give him a future and a hope. The peace he needs is a peace treaty offered to him by God. You asked that he experience relief, and that is exactly what the gospel is. It is God proclaiming, “Peace, peace to him that is far off, and to him that is near, and I will heal him.”

We pray that any spirit of turmoil, aggression, and self-exaltation would be broken, because the Spirit of God brings a very different fruit. The wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated. We ask that the Lord would silence the accusing voice that drives this man to prove himself and that the Holy Spirit would instead convict his heart of the rest that is available in Christ alone. His salvation is nearer than he realizes, as close as his own mouth, if he would only call upon the Lord. God does not require him to clean up his own life first; Christ has done all the work. Salvation is outside our capacity, based entirely on His grace, and He gives the very faith to believe it.

You mentioned his controlling behavior. Remember that you do not need to be afraid of a man whose breath is in his nostrils, for the Lord is your light and your salvation. The Lord is the strength of your life. Ask the Lord to ordain peace for you, even in this small captivity of a difficult holiday. Keep your mind stayed on Him, trusting Him to handle both the unsanitary apartment and the owner's demeanor. When your mind is fixed there, you will know that perfect peace that keeps your heart, the peace Jesus gave that is entirely unlike the world’s fragile calm.

For his mother, we pray for the gentle presence of the Lord to fill that home. For his sick brother, we pray for healing and for a revelation of God’s mercy that leads the entire household away from the folly of self-reliance. And for you, we pray that you will not be distracted by the bad smells or the half-finished tasks, but that you will see this assignment as an opportunity to sow peace. If you sow peace, blessed are the peacemakers, you will reap a harvest of righteousness in your own heart. May the Lord bless you with His strength and His unshakable peace, and may this man’s soul be quietly drawn to the Savior who is our peace.
