Not there for me

Beloved of All
God id obviously bitter with me. And he hates me. He proves he hates me by all the unjst hate I get for trying to do the right thing. My own dad hates. I cry myself to sleep every night . I suffer so much pain and anxiety. God needs to stop promising stuff he can't keep. I super skinny and undesirable no matter how hard I try in the gym it's never enough.

We have read your request and our hearts ache with you in this pain, and we are lifting you up together before the Father in Jesus' name. To feel hated by God, by your own dad, and by others when you are trying to do the right thing, to cry yourself to sleep every night under such anxiety and to feel undesirable no matter how hard you try, is a heavy burden and we do not take it lightly.

We must gently but firmly rebuke some of the lies that sorrow and the enemy have placed on your heart, because they do not align with truth. It is not true that God hates you or is bitter with you. The Word tells us God is love and His love for you was proven at the cross while you were still in need of Him, Romans 5:8 says But God commends his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. And Romans 8:38-39 assures us that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from God's love which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. What you are experiencing as unjust hate for trying to do the right thing is not proof that God hates you, it is actually something Jesus said would happen to those who follow Him, Matthew 5:11 says Blessed are you when people reproach you, persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake, and John 15:18 reminds us If the world hates you, you know that it has hated me before it hated you. God does not hate you for doing right, He sees it and honors it even when people do not.

We also must correct the thought that God promises things He cannot keep. That is not who God is. Numbers 23:19 says God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should repent. Has he said, and will he not do it? Has he spoken, and will he not make it good? And Titus 1:2 speaks of God, who can't lie. Every promise of God finds its yes in Christ, 2 Corinthians 1:20. If it feels like His promises have failed, it is often because we are interpreting His promises through our pain or through what we expect Him to do in our timing, not because He has been unfaithful. Jeremiah 29:11 says For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. His thoughts toward you are not hatred but peace and hope.

We hear your deep hurt about your dad and feeling hated by him. Even if a father turns away, God draws near, Psalm 27:10 says When my father and my mother forsake me, then Yahweh will take me up. And Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Your tears at night are not unseen, He collects them and He invites you to cast your cares on Him, 1 Peter 5:7 says casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you, and Philippians 4:6-7 calls us In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

Regarding feeling super skinny and undesirable and that the gym is never enough, we want to speak truth over your identity. Your worth is not measured by muscle or size or appearance. 1 Samuel 16:7 says Man looks at the outward appearance, but Yahweh looks at the heart. Psalm 139:14 says I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well. The body is to be cared for, for bodily exercise has some value, 1 Timothy 4:8, but it can never give you the acceptance and love your soul is longing for. Only Christ can. Isaiah 41:10 says Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.

We also notice your request did not mention Jesus, and we must lovingly tell you there is no other way to come to the Father and find true peace and salvation except through Him. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is only by believing in Jesus Christ, that He died for our sins and rose again, and calling on His name, that we are forgiven and brought from feeling hated to being adopted as beloved children, Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we lift this precious one to You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. Lord, break the lie that You hate him and replace it with the truth of Your unfailing love shown at the cross. Let him know in his heart that You are near to his broken heart and that You see every tear and every sleepless night. We ask You to calm his anxiety and pain with Your peace that surpasses understanding, and to strengthen him and uphold him with Your righteous right hand. Heal the wound with his dad and help him to forgive and to receive Your perfect fatherly love. Free him from the trap of finding his worth in his body or in the gym, and show him he is fearfully and wonderfully made and deeply desired by You. Forgive his sins and draw him to salvation through Jesus, that he may know he is fully accepted and loved. Help him to trust that You keep every promise and that You work all things together for good for those who love You, Romans 8:28. Give him hope for the future and surround him with godly people who will encourage him in truth. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and Savior, amen.

We heard the ache in what you wrote, feeling like God is against you, like even your dad is against you, and carrying that alone at night until you cry yourself to sleep. That kind of pain and anxiety is heavy to carry day after day, and we are really glad you reached out instead of holding it all inside.

It makes sense that when you are trying to do the right thing and still get met with hate, it would feel like proof that you are hated or forgotten. Those feelings are powerful, but they are not the full truth about who you are or how God sees you. You are not undesirable to Him, even when your body does not look the way you wish it would after all the work you are putting in at the gym.

When anxiety and sleeplessness press in like this for a while, it helps not to face it alone. One steady next step could be talking with a trusted pastor, counselor, or your doctor in person, not as a replacement for prayer but alongside it, so someone who knows you can walk with you consistently.

Father, we lift this person to You in Jesus' name. You see the tears at night, the hurt from family, and the anxiety that will not let go. Bring comfort, peace, and trustworthy people around them, and help them know they are seen and loved by You. Amen.

The sorrow you have poured out is heard, though you feel it is not, and the tears with which you water your pillow night by night are not hidden from Him who numbers every sigh.

You write that God is bitter with you and hates you, and that He proves it by the unjust hatred you receive when you try to do right, and by the coldness of your own father. Hear the truth which alone can set you free. God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all. There is no bitterness in Him, no fickleness, no hatred toward those who seek Him. He is the righteous Father, and if He is righteous and yet your Father through Jesus Christ, then you are loved in such a way that His very righteousness is pledged to keep you. He has not forgotten you. Rather, we are prone to live as if God were forgotten in His own world, rising and lying down without thought of Him, and then to charge Him with forgetting us.

That you receive unjust hate for trying to do the right thing does not prove that God hates you. God Himself was slandered by the old serpent in the garden, and it is no wonder that His children should be slandered by the serpent's seed. Our Lord Jesus was despised and rejected, though He did always the things that pleased the Father. The hatred of men, and even the failure of an earthly father to love as he ought, is not the measure of your heavenly Father's heart. He so values His people that He prays for them, keeps them and sanctifies them, and He will not cast out one who comes to Him through Christ.

You say God promises what He cannot keep. This also is a dark thought that must be brought into the light and confessed before Him. God cannot lie. What He has promised in Christ He will surely perform. We must confess the truth, for God will never agree with those who indulge self deception. He is a God of truth. If you feel He delays to bless, ask your own heart whether you have come to Him as undeserving, with no recommendation whatever, as a sinner by nature and by practice, pleading for mercy and for mercy only. Peace with God comes not by our striving or by our worth, but by faith in His Son. When you simply believe the witness concerning Christ, the Spirit blesses that message to you and you enter into fellowship with the Father and with His Son. There is no ground of quarrel between you and your heavenly Father when you are in Christ, for God for Christ's sake has forgiven you.

You speak also of your body, that you are super skinny and undesirable and that the gym is never enough. You are not the first child of God to feel the burden of the body. You are fearfully made, linked to the earth by a body of clay, yet made for a Divine purpose, predestinated to be made a perfect and immortal being. God called the body the temple, and He desires not its destruction but its redemption. Your worth before Him is not measured by muscle or by the eyes of others, and no amount of labour in the gym can give what only Christ can give, a knowledge that you are loved and kept. Do not judge yourself by others, but by the love of Him who gave Himself for you. He does not love you because you are desirable to men, He loves you and therefore makes you His own.

You suffer much pain and anxiety and cry yourself to sleep. Bring that anxiety honestly to God. He bids you not to be of a doubtful mind, but to cast your care upon Him. Cry with the Psalmist, Search me, O God, and know my heart, try me and know my thoughts, and see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. Come with holy boldness and say, My soul trusts in You, be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me. If He chastens, it is better to smart under the rod of a Father than to be caressed by the world, for His chastening is love.

Therefore I pray for you now, that the Lord would lead you to Jesus, that you would see that salvation is through Him alone, that you would believe and have peace with God, that the rods would be taken away and you would find sweet repose in Him. Go to Him tonight not with the plea of your gym work or your trying, but with empty hands, trusting only in the blood of Christ. Tell Him all your grief about your father, your loneliness, your body, your fear, and ask Him to keep you and sanctify you. He hears the mouths that cry Hosanna in weakness, and out of weakness He ordains strength and silences the adversary.

May the Lord give you to know the righteous Father and to rest in His love, and may you henceforth say, Through floods and flames, if Jesus leads, I will follow where He goes.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The pain you describe is real and heavy, and it is heard. To cry yourself to sleep, to feel hated by your own father and by others when you are trying to do what is right, to live with constant anxiety and to feel undesirable in your own body, is a deep suffering. It is understandable that in that place it feels as if God is bitter toward you or has turned away.

God does not hate you. Scripture teaches that God is not bitter or unwilling to keep His word, but is a Father who acts out of pure lovingkindness. You are able to call Him Father not because of your strength or your appearance or your success in the gym, but because He has shown mercy through Jesus Christ, who shed His blood for those who were far off in order to make them sons and heirs. That mercy is not earned by works or by how your body looks, but is given by grace through faith. No one is justified before God by what they can achieve, but by trusting in Christ.

When you feel that God promises what He cannot do, it helps to remember what His promises actually are. He has not promised that everyone will approve of you, or that striving will immediately change your body in the way you want, or that life will be free from unjust treatment. What He has promised is that He sees and will supply what you truly need, and that He will not forsake those who look to Him. As a father would not fail to give his children what is necessary for life, how much more will your heavenly Father provide. Jesus taught that anxiety does not add to our lives, and that our diligence alone does not sustain us, but the providence of God does. That does not mean your effort is meaningless, but it means your worth and your future do not rest on your effort alone.

The anxiety you carry every day can feel like a heavy scourging that never lifts. God does not want you to remain fixed in that fear. He feeds and sustains from youth up, and He invites you to cast your cares on Him and to be freed from vain and profitless striving. Your value before God is not measured by being skinny or muscular, or by whether others find you desirable. Your body is part of His creation, and He looks on the heart that trusts Him. The gym can be a good place for stewardship of health, but it cannot give you the acceptance and peace you are longing for. Only Christ can give that.

God proves His love not by removing every painful circumstance at once, but by drawing near in the midst of it. He sees the unjust hate you receive for trying to do right, and He is not indifferent to it. He sent His own Word, Jesus, to enter into suffering and to bring comfort and deliverance.

I will pray that God will show you His fatherly care in a clear way, that He will quiet your anxiety and give you rest at night, that He will heal the wound left by your father and surround you with people who will speak truth and show kindness, and that you will come to know more deeply that you are loved and desired by Him because you belong to Christ. If you can, bring these sorrows regularly to God in prayer, open the Scriptures to hear His voice, and seek a faithful pastor or mature believer to walk with you and counsel you in person. You are not forgotten, and you are not hated. In Christ, you are seen, you are provided for, and you are loved.
