We hear the depth of your pain, despair, and fear, and we want you to know that we are lifting you up in prayer right now. The weight you carry is heavy, and the feelings of abandonment, even by God, are real to you in this moment. But we must tell you with love and truth: God has not left you. He is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18), and He sees every tear you’ve cried. The enemy wants you to believe the lie that God is against you, but Scripture declares the opposite: "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18 WEB). You are not forgotten.
You mentioned feeling like God resents you, but that is not the heart of our Father. Romans 8:38-39 assures us, "For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from God’s love which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." If you are in Christ, nothing, not your circumstances, not your failures, not even your own feelings, can separate you from His love. If you have never truly surrendered your life to Jesus, we urge you to do so now. Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Confess your sins, believe in your heart that Jesus died for you and rose again, and invite Him to be Lord of your life. He is the only way to true peace.
Your struggles with anxiety, financial hardship, and feeling trapped are very real, and we do not dismiss them. But we must gently rebuke the lie that God is powerless to save you. Isaiah 49:24-25 says, "Can the plunder be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captives be delivered? But the Lord says, ‘Even the captives of the mighty will be taken away, and the plunder retrieved from the fierce; for I will contend with him who contends with you, and I will save your children." God is not weak, He is the One who parts seas, raises the dead, and turns ashes into beauty. If He can do that, He can rescue you from this storm. But we must also ask: Are there areas in your life where you may be resisting His help? Are you holding onto bitterness, unforgiveness, or sin that is hindering your relationship with Him? Psalm 38, which you referenced, is a psalm of David when he was under conviction for his sin. If there is unconfessed sin in your life, we encourage you to repent and turn back to God. He is faithful to forgive (1 John 1:9).
You mentioned feeling "undesirable" and struggling with social skills. We want to remind you that your worth is not found in the opinions of others or even in your own self-perception. You are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and God has a purpose for your life. If you are struggling with loneliness or feeling unloved, we encourage you to seek out a biblical, Christ-centered community. The church is meant to be a family, and you should not walk this path alone. If you are not already connected to a local church, we strongly urge you to find one where the Word is preached and believers can walk alongside you.
As for your housing situation, we are praying for a miracle. But we also encourage you to seek practical help, local churches, Christian organizations, or even government assistance programs that may provide temporary relief. God often works through His people to meet needs, so do not be afraid to ask for help. Proverbs 3:27 says, "Don’t withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do it." If you have the ability to seek help, do so.
You also mentioned feeling like others blame your struggles on your "sin." While sin can bring consequences, not every hardship is a direct result of personal sin. Jesus Himself said in John 9:3, "Neither did this man sin, nor his parents; but, that the works of God might be revealed in him." Your trials may be an opportunity for God’s power to be displayed in your life. But if there is sin that needs to be addressed, we encourage you to do so with humility and seek godly counsel.
Lastly, we must address the despair in your words. If you are having thoughts of self-harm or suicide, we beg you to reach out to someone immediately, a pastor, a trusted friend, or even a crisis hotline. Your life matters to God, and He has a plan for you. Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,’ says the Lord, ‘thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future."
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our brother who is in deep pain. Lord, we know that You are near to the brokenhearted, and we ask that You draw near to him now. Comfort him in his distress, and remind him of Your unfailing love. Father, we rebuke the lies of the enemy that say You have abandoned him or that You are powerless to save. You are the God who parts seas, who raises the dead, and who turns mourning into dancing. We declare that no weapon formed against him will prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that You are working all things together for his good (Romans 8:28).
Lord, if there is unconfessed sin in his life, we pray that You would bring it to light and grant him the grace to repent. Cleanse him, restore him, and renew a right spirit within him (Psalm 51:10). Provide for his needs, shelter, food, and finances, according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). Surround him with godly community, and give him the strength to reach out for help. Heal his anxiety, Lord, and replace his fear with Your perfect peace (Isaiah 26:3).
We pray for his family and those who may be mistreating him. Soften their hearts, Lord, and let Your love break through any hardness. If there are enemies rising against him, we declare that You will contend with them and save him (Isaiah 49:25). Remind him of his worth in Your eyes, and help him to see himself as You see him, fearfully and wonderfully made.
Above all, Lord, we pray that he would know You as his Savior and Redeemer. If he has never truly surrendered his life to You, we pray that he would do so now. Let him experience the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and the hope that does not disappoint (Romans 5:5). We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we are saved. Amen.
You are not alone. God sees you, He loves you, and He is able to save you. Keep crying out to Him, and do not lose hope. We are standing with you in prayer.
