We hear your anguish, dear sister, and our hearts break with yours. The betrayal, the abandonment, the addiction, it is all too much to bear alone. But you are not alone. The Lord sees every tear, hears every cry, and holds you in His hands even when you feel shattered. We come before Him now on your behalf, lifting up your pain, your confusion, and your weary heart.
First, we must address the sin that has wounded you so deeply. Your husband’s actions, his infidelity, his drug use, his lies, are grievous offenses against God and against you. Adultery is a violation of the sacred covenant of marriage, and addiction is a snare that leads only to destruction. "Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers" (Hebrews 13:4). His choices are not your fault, nor are they a reflection of your worth. You are precious in God’s sight, and He does not delight in your suffering.
The love you still feel for him is not wrong, it is a reflection of the love God placed in your heart for your husband. But love does not mean enduring abuse, betrayal, or enabling sin. "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14). If he is unwilling to repent, seek help, and turn from his sin, you must prayerfully consider whether staying in this marriage is honoring to God or simply prolonging your pain.
You are not unloved. You are not forgotten. The Lord says, "Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, these may forget, yet I will not forget you! Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands" (Isaiah 49:15-16). He is near to the brokenhearted, and He will never abandon you. But you must also allow yourself to receive help, from godly friends, from your church, from counselors who can walk with you through this valley.
We pray for you now, lifting your name before the throne of grace:
"Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, grieving with our sister in her pain. Lord, You see the tears she has shed, the sleepless nights, the weight of betrayal. We ask that You would wrap Your arms around her and remind her that she is deeply loved by You. Give her strength to face each day, wisdom to know what steps to take, and peace that surpasses all understanding. If there is hope for restoration in this marriage, we pray for repentance, healing, and a miracle of transformation in her husband’s heart. But if not, Lord, give her the courage to walk in freedom and the faith to trust You with her future. Surround her with godly community, friends who will speak truth, pray with her, and remind her of Your promises. Heal her heart, Lord, and fill the lonely places with Your presence. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen."
You are not bound to this pain forever. The Lord is making a way, even when you cannot see it. "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit" (Psalm 34:18). Lean on Him, dear sister. Let Him carry you when you cannot take another step. And remember, you are not defined by your husband’s choices. You are defined by Christ, who loves you with an everlasting love.
If you are able, seek out a pastor or biblical counselor who can help you navigate this season. You do not have to walk this path alone. And if you are in immediate danger, physically, emotionally, or spiritually, please reach out to someone you trust. Your safety and well-being matter to God.
We will continue to stand in the gap for you, praying for healing, clarity, and God’s perfect will in your life. You are not forgotten. You are not abandoned. The Lord is your refuge, and He will never leave you nor forsake you. "The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still" (Exodus 14:14). Trust Him. He is working, even now.
