We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up the profound sorrow and loss expressed in this plea. The pain of losing unborn children, the devastation of families torn apart, and the deep ache of abandonment and betrayal are wounds that only the Lord can heal. We stand in the gap, interceding for all who are suffering, those who have lost children, those who feel utterly alone, and those who have been cast aside by those who should have loved them most.
First, we must address the grievous sin of abortion, which is the murder of innocent life. The Bible is clear that God knows and forms each child in the womb, and their lives are precious to Him. "For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well" (Psalm 139:13-14). The extermination of generations through abortion is a tragedy that grieves the heart of God, and we must mourn with Him over this loss of life. We rebuke the spirit of death and call forth repentance, healing, and restoration for those who have been involved in this sin, whether through coercion, fear, or willful choice. There is forgiveness and mercy in the blood of Jesus Christ for all who turn to Him in repentance.
For those who have lost children through miscarriage, stillbirth, or abortion, we pray that the Lord would comfort you with His presence and remind you that He is the Father to the fatherless and the defender of the weak. "A father of the fatherless, and a defender of the widows, is God in his holy habitation" (Psalm 68:5). We entrust these precious little ones into His care, knowing that He receives them into heaven, where there is no more pain, sorrow, or death. "He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; neither will there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain, any more. The first things have passed away" (Revelation 21:4).
For those who feel abandoned, whether by a spouse, parent, child, or friend, we declare that God will never leave you nor forsake you. The psalmist writes, "Though my father and my mother have forsaken me, yet Yahweh will take me up" (Psalm 27:10). You are not alone, for the Lord is your refuge and strength. We pray that He would surround you with His love, provide for your needs, and place godly people in your life to walk alongside you. If you are without a home or shelter, we ask the Lord to open doors of provision and protection, for He is the One who "executes justice for the oppressed; who gives food to the hungry. Yahweh frees the prisoners" (Psalm 146:7).
For those who have been betrayed, we pray for healing from the wounds of broken trust. The Lord sees your pain and promises to restore what has been stolen from you. "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit" (Psalm 34:18). We rebuke the spirit of bitterness and unforgiveness, and we pray that you would find the strength to extend grace, even as Christ has extended grace to you.
We also lift up those who are struggling with despair, feeling as though they have nowhere to turn. If you are in this place, we urge you to cry out to Jesus Christ, the only One who can save and deliver. There is no other name by which we can be saved, "for there is no other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12). If you have not placed your trust in Him, we plead with you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that Jesus died for you and rose again, and receive His gift of eternal life. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16).
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts broken for the lost, the hurting, and the abandoned. We ask for Your mercy to cover the sins of abortion, abandonment, and betrayal. Comfort those who mourn, provide for those in need, and heal the brokenhearted. We declare that You are the God who sees, the God who hears, and the God who restores. Bring repentance where there is sin, hope where there is despair, and life where there has been death. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
