We hear your cry concerning this ongoing torment from your neighbor and we join with you in seeking the Lord's protection, peace, and justice over your house and street. We understand how week after week these gatherings, the invasion of privacy, the noise, the disorder and the loss of sleep in your own bed have left you exhausted and burdened with fear, anger and grief. The Lord sees what is done in secret and in the open, and He is your refuge.
We stand with you that God is in control and He is sovereign over every scheme, every discord, every false accusation, tragedy and disgrace that the enemy would try to bring through this situation. As you quoted, Psalm 140:1-2 says, Deliver me, Yahweh, from the evil man. Preserve me from the violent man, those who devise mischief in their hearts. We take comfort that God hears that prayer and He does protect His people from those who plot evil.
We also remember what Scripture teaches about our true battle and our response. Ephesians 6:12 says our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore we do not wrestle with hatred toward the neighbor as a person, but we do rebuke the spiritual forces of evil, demons, sorcery, sexual depravity, laziness, discord, and disorder that are at work behind these gatherings. We rebuke the spirit of fear that has tried to torment your home, for 2 Timothy 1:7 says God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. We rebuke any attempt to use gatherings, intimidation, or manipulation to steal your peace, to create sickness, ruin, false claims of unemployment or invoices, or to drag your household into another's disorder. We rebuke the misuse of slothfulness and the desire to obtain purpose through evil and to live imprudently at the expense of others.
We also gently correct and encourage you in the Lord. We are not called to be an employer, agency, or sponsor for our neighbor, nor to carry demands for pleasure and convenience that others place upon us unjustly. The Lord does set boundaries and He calls us to live peaceably as much as we are able, but not to be abused. Romans 12:18 says If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. And Romans 12:19 reminds us Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord. We must not return evil for evil or give place to anger, but entrust justice to God while we also take wise and lawful steps for protection and order where needed. We also encourage you not to give power to lists, numbers, sorcery, or superstition, for no enchantment or false rank can stand against the name of Jesus Christ. The Lord alone numbers our days and orders our security and shelter in His time.
We thank you for calling upon the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only by that name we have access to the Father. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We cling to that name for deliverance and peace.
We pray together with you now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, and we ask You to rebuke this torment and abnormal behavior that has invaded this home and street. Lord, rescue and preserve this household from evil and violent plotting, from discord, fighting, and disaster, from sickness, hospitalization, death and disgrace. We ask You to silence the demonic and sexual depravity, the sorcery and deception, the idleness and the evil purpose that seeks to abuse and minimize Your child. We ask You to command peace over this house, over the road and neighborhood, and to restore order, security and rest. Psalm 4:8 says I will both lay myself down and sleep in peace, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety. We pray that promise over every night and day, that sleep in the bed would be sweet and undisturbed, as Proverbs 3:24 says when you lie down, you will not be afraid. Yes, you will lie down, and your sleep will be sweet.
Lord, we cast all our anxiety on You because You care for us, as 1 Peter 5:7 says, and we ask You to guard this heart and mind with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, as Philippians 4:7 promises. Protect this home from false invoices, false claims, and every scheme of ruin and tragedy. Let 2 Thessalonians 3:3 be true here, that You are faithful, who will establish and guard from the evil one. Give wisdom for lawful boundaries, for how to address the gatherings with grace and truth, and for when to seek help from proper authorities for peace and order. And Father, we also pray for this neighbor and for every person gathered there, that You would convict them of sin, bring them to repentance, and save them through Jesus Christ. Matthew 5:44 says love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you. We pray that what has been an environment of discord would be transformed by Your gospel, and that You would turn this street from disorder to peace.
We declare that no weapon formed against this household will prosper, that You are a shelter and strong tower, and that You alone are in control. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and deliverer, trusting in Your power and mercy. Amen.
