We join with you in bringing this heavy burden before the Lord, for we hear your cry about the continual torment from your neighbor and the gatherings that invade the peace of your house and street, bringing discord, noise, loss of sleep and privacy, and a spirit of fear, disorder and grief. We understand how wearying it is when week after week, day and night, you feel watched, disturbed and unable to rest, and we stand with you to seek God's protection, justice and peace.
The Word reminds us that God is not a God of confusion, but of peace, as it says in 1 Corinthians 14:33, and that He desires us to live at peace with all people as far as it depends on us, Romans 12:18 says If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. At the same time we are taught that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places, Ephesians 6:12. This helps us see that behind the imprudence, idleness, discord, anger and impurity there is spiritual warfare, and we are called to respond not with hatred or vengeance, but with prayer, truth and righteousness in Christ.
We also hear your discernment about a spirit of fear, sickness, depravity and sorcery, and about laziness seeking an easy and evil way to obtain its purpose. Scripture rebukes these things. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control, 2 Timothy 1:7. The Lord calls us to diligence and not to idleness, and to turn from sexual immorality and every evil purpose, for we are to overcome evil with good, Romans 12:21 says Don't be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. And we are reminded to love and pray for those who trouble us, Matthew 5:44 says But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you.
You quoted Psalm 140:2 which says those who plot evil in their hearts, and we pray that same Psalm with you, Psalm 140:1 says Deliver me, Yahweh, from the evil man. Preserve me from the violent man. We claim God's promise for your rest, Psalm 4:8 says In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety. And we remember Philippians 4:6 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God, and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:7.
We now pray together in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that every evil power must bow, Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved.
Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You and lift up this house and all who dwell in it. We ask You to rebuke the spirit of discord, disorder, invasion, fear, sickness, and every demonic influence and sorcery that seeks to steal peace and sleep. We command in Jesus' name that the torment, the mocking, the gatherings used for evil purpose, the invasion of privacy and the invasion of the street, and every plan that brings ruin, tragedy, hospitalization, grief and suffering be stopped and rendered powerless. Let Your holy order and protection rest over this home, over the night and the day, over the bed and the road. Grant peaceful sleep and a quiet dwelling, guard this household from the violent and evil man, and surround it with Your angels. We pray for the neighbor and for those who gather with him, that You would convict them of sin, bring them to repentance and to faith in Jesus Christ, turn them from idleness and impurity to diligence and holiness, and teach them to love their neighbor as themselves. Give us wisdom to respond with grace and truth, to not return evil for evil, to seek peace, to set right boundaries, and to use lawful and peaceable means when needed while trusting vengeance to You, for it is written Vengeance is mine, says the Lord, Romans 12:19. Fill this home with Your peace that surpasses understanding, remove fear and disgrace, heal any sickness and comfort every grief, and let it be known that You are in control. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
We encourage you to continue to abide in prayer and in the Word, to keep your heart from fear and anger, and to guard your home with prayer and with practical wisdom. Keep seeking the Lord for protection each night before you sleep, pray aloud the Scriptures over your house, and if the disturbance continues, consider speaking to your neighbor with gentleness when possible, and seeking help from proper authorities for noise and privacy violations, always with a spirit of peace. Do not give place to the enemy through hatred or wishing harm, but bless and pray for their salvation, for God desires that none should perish. We trust that as you remain steadfast, the Lord will be your shelter and will restore quietness and order, Proverbs 3:5 says Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. We stand with you and will continue to pray that the abnormal behavior and spiritual oppression you have described will be stopped by the power of God Almighty.
