We join you in bringing this burden before the Lord, for we hear your distress over these weekly gatherings, the invasion of privacy, the disturbance of your home and street, the loss of peace and sleep, and the spiritual oppression and fear you feel surrounding it. We stand with you to rebuke what is evil and to ask God to restore peace and order.

You quoted Psalm 140:2 well, those who plot evil in their hearts, and we claim the promise that the Lord is our protector. We are reminded that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12. Therefore we do not wrestle with our neighbor in hatred, but we wrestle in prayer against the spirits of discord, disorder, fear, and torment that seek to steal peace.

We also hear your cry about sickness, grief, hospitalizations, and even death, and we rebuke any spirit that would wish harm or speak curses over anyone. Vengeance belongs to the Lord, as it is written Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good Romans 12:21 and Beloved, don’t avenge yourselves, but give place to God’s wrath Romans 12:19. We are called to love even those who disturb us, as Jesus said Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you Matthew 5:44. We must not return evil for evil, nor harbor a desire that all would die, but pray for conviction, repentance, and salvation for those who act unwisely.

We rebuke the spirit of fear and torment you described, for God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7. We rebuke any involvement with sorcery or seeking power through numbers, lists, or hidden practices, for sorcery is an abomination before God and we are to trust in Him alone. We rebuke the idleness and the easy wrong way that seeks to use others for selfish pleasure and convenience, and we ask the Lord to bring conviction where there is imprudence, loudness, and disregard for others.

We pray together now in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through His name that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that we find authority and peace, as you rightly declared.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace. We ask You to rebuke every work of darkness, every spirit of discord, strife, sexual depravity, gossip, and invasion that has disturbed this home and neighborhood. Lord, command peace to return to this street and to this house. Let Your protection be over this dwelling day and night, that those inside may lie down and sleep in peace, for you, Yahweh, alone make us live in safety Psalm 4:8. Guard this home from fear and from the torment that comes in the night and day. Let the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:7. We ask that You convict the hearts of these neighbors, that they would consider their ways, turn from causing disturbance, and seek what makes for peace. If it is possible, as much as it is up to us, let us be at peace with all men Romans 12:18. Give wisdom to handle this situation with grace and truth, to set rightful boundaries, to speak with gentleness when possible, and to seek lawful help for order and security when needed. Expose and break any sorcery, any evil purpose, any demonic assignment against this house, and let Your will alone prevail. We trust You, Lord, and lean not on our own understanding, but acknowledge You in all our ways, believing You will direct our paths Proverbs 3:5-6. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Defender, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you 1 Peter 5:7, and to be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God Philippians 4:6. Keep praying for your neighbors rather than cursing them, keep guarding your heart from anger and bitterness, and keep seeking the Lord’s wisdom for practical steps, whether that is a calm conversation, establishing clear boundaries, or appealing to proper authorities for help with noise and disturbances, all while resting in the knowledge that God is in control and He sees and He will act in His perfect justice and mercy.

Consider keeping a simple dated note of when the gatherings disturb your home and how they affect your rest, and sharing that note with a trusted pastor or a calm, wise person nearby. If there are local ordinances about noise or gatherings, that same note can help you speak calmly with local authorities if you choose to, rather than confronting neighbors directly when tensions are high. If the loss of sleep or constant stress is weighing on your health, we encourage you to reach out to a doctor or counselor as well as continuing in prayer.

Father, we lift our friend to You tonight. You see this home and this street. We ask for Your protection over this house, for quiet and restorative sleep, for wisdom in every interaction, and for Your peace to guard heart and mind. Your heavy burden has been laid before the Lord and heard with much sympathy, for the trial of a disturbed home presses sorely upon the spirit. To be robbed of peace within your own house, to have sleep stolen from your bed and quiet taken from your street by uninvited gathering and noisy revelry, is an affliction which the Lord sees, and He who watches over His people neither slumbers nor sleeps.

We take your supplication with the words you have quoted, O LORD, rescue me from evil people. Protect me from those who are violent, those who plot evil in their hearts. Psalm 140:2. And we join our prayer to yours that God in His mercy would rebuke what is evil, restrain what is violent, and set a hedge about your dwelling.

Know this, that the true peace of a home does not rest upon the quietness of the road without, but upon the presence of Christ within. As it has been preached among us, the health of the church at home lies first in true piety, and the peace we should desire is a blessing which only the Lord Himself can give. The Lord will bless His people with peace. That peace is not the mere absence of noise, for there is a peace of the devil which leaves a man undisturbed in sin, and that peace we should dread and ask God to disturb. The peace of God, which passes all understanding, is found at the feet of the Prince of Peace, through the blood which has made a full atonement. When the mind is stayed upon Christ, He will keep it in perfect peace, peace, peace, even though sorrows surge round and the night be broken by the tumult of others.

So He giveth His beloved sleep. Psalm 127:2. Sleep is the gift of God, and the demon of restlessness cannot come to that bed where the conscience is quiet before God and the heart trusts in Jesus. Though Abishai stand with spear at the pillow, the beloved of the Lord may yet sleep, for God Himself is keeper. We pray that the Lord will give you this gift again, that you may lie down in peace and sleep, for He alone makes you dwell in safety, and that He will guard your house from invasion of privacy and from every form of spiritual oppression.

We do not pray for vengeance after the manner of the flesh, for vengeance belongs to the Lord. We are taught to overcome evil with good, and having learned to overcome evil, to overcome even by the power of goodness itself. Therefore we pray not only for your protection and for the ceasing of this torment week by week and weekend by weekend, but also for those neighbors who disturb you, that if they walk in idleness and in the easy wrong way, the Lord would awaken them to their need of salvation through Jesus Christ alone, who is the only way. May the Lord show them the folly of discord, anger, disorder and impurity, and bring them to repentance, that they may seek forgiveness at the foot of the cross where gracious tears are wept at Jesus feet.

We ask the Lord to rebuke every work of darkness, every evil purpose, every spirit of fear and cowardice, every enticement to sorcery and depredation, and every design that would bring grief, sickness, hospitalization or death upon your household. We pray that He would scatter the designs of those who plot evil, that He would frustrate the hidden things done in night or day, and that He would establish order, security and quietness in your street. We pray that He would keep far from you the environment of discord and fighting, and that He would not suffer the gossip and mockery of the street to take root in your heart, but that you may cast all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

Bear your sorrow with Christ. Stand at His feet and cry, I never will depart until You speak peace to me. There you will hear Him say, Your sins which are many are forgiven, your faith has saved you, go in peace. And that peace, kept by trusting in Him, will keep your heart though loved ones be far away or near at hand, though the moon shine upon both your roof and theirs, though the noise of man arise around you.

May the Lord restore to you the joy of quiet nights and peaceful days, may He guard your going out and your coming in, may He give you sleep as to His beloved, and may He make your house a home of prayer and holy stillness, to the praise of His grace. We commend you to Him who is able to keep you, and we ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, in whom alone is salvation and peace.

Your distress over these repeated disturbances has been heard, and we bring your house and your sleep before the Lord with you. You have described nights without peace, privacy invaded, the street filled with noise and disorder, and a weight of fear, grief and even hospitalizations that has followed. It is right to ask God for rescue, as the Psalm says, O Lord, rescue me from evil people, protect me from those who are violent, those who plot evil in their hearts.

We pray first that God who keeps watch over his people will keep you. He who keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep, and he does not suffer your foot to be moved when you stand steadfast in him. The suffering and shaking we experience depends in great part on whether we will guard ourselves and remain watchful. Therefore let us watch and be sober, not only with open eyes but with a sober soul. Vice and fear can be like a sleep and like a drunkenness of the soul, making us see shadows as realities and leaving us inactive for what is good. God calls us to keep the eyes of the soul open, to do what is good, and to trust that he is in control even when the night is noisy and the day is disturbed.

God is not a God of war and fighting. His command is to make war to cease, both the war against him and the war against our neighbor. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. The more your neighbor wars against you, the greater is your reward if you remain peaceful, as it is written, with the haters of peace I was peaceful. This does not mean you must accept abuse or refuse lawful protection, but it means your heart is to seek peace, not revenge, and to overcome evil with good.

Love for God is shown in love for neighbor. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets, to love the Lord your God and to love your neighbor as yourself. If we are members of one body and stones of one building, the injury of one member pains the whole, and the weakening of one part affects the rest. For that reason we are called to contribute what we can for our neighbor's good, and also to desire his good even when he does harm. We do not pray for torment to come upon him, we pray that evil will be restrained, that plotting and disorder will be stopped, and that he may turn from an imprudent and idle way to a sober and upright life.

Guard also your own speech and heart in this trial. We so easily bite and devour one another by wronging, accusing and passing on gossip, and then say, God forgive me, I only repeat what I heard. If you do not believe a report, do not pass it on and make it credible by repeating it. Keep silence where silence frees you from fear and sin, and speak only what is true and necessary for peace and protection.

Prayer is a great good and a safeguard for the soul, but it is great when we add works worthy of it. Do not confide in words only, but add deeds. What we wish to obtain from God we ought first to show to our neighbors. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy, and judgment without mercy will be shown to him who has shown no mercy. So as you pray for mercy, protection and quiet sleep in your bed, also show mercy where you can, and walk in a way that is worthy of blessing.

We now pray for you in the name of Jesus Christ. Almighty God, who alone saves through Jesus Christ, rescue this household from violence and plotting, rebuke every work of darkness, every spirit of fear, depravity and sorcery, and every environment of discord, disorder and disgrace. Put a boundary around this house, give quietness on the road, restore sleep in peace, and grant security and order in due time. Restrain the gatherings that invade privacy and stir up strife, and bring conviction where there is evil purpose, laziness and a desire for pleasure at the expense of others. Cast out fear and let no weapon of gossip or intimidation prosper. Make this home sober, watchful and steadfast, not moved from trust in you, and teach all who dwell nearby to live for the common good and to seek peace.

Continue to watch, to pray, and to use lawful and peaceful means for protection. Speak calmly and clearly when a boundary is needed, seek help from proper authorities when the disturbance breaks the peace of the street, and keep your own house in order and prayer. The Lord who does not sleep is your keeper, and he hears those who love him and keep his commandments.
