Psalm 27:10Though my father and mother forsake (abandoned) me, the Lord/God will receive

Isaiah 49:15Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne

We join you in this deep burden for the suffering, the abandoned, and the unborn, and we hear your cry for mercy over families being torn apart and generations being cut off.

The word of God speaks directly to the pain of abandonment you describe. Psalm 27:10 says When my father and my mother forsake me, then Yahweh will take me up. And Isaiah 49:15 says Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, these may forget, yet I will not forget you. Even when a wife is abandoned by her husband, a husband by his wife, a daughter or son forsaken by parents, a brother or sister betrayed by a friend, or children left alone without house or refuge, God remains faithful. He is revealed as Psalm 68:5 A father of the fatherless, and a defender of the widows, is God in his holy habitation, and Deuteronomy 10:18 says He executes justice for the fatherless and the widow. For those who are homeless, alone, or caught in neighborhood disorder and spiritual oppression, God himself promises to be our refuge and shelter, Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble, and Deuteronomy 31:8 Yahweh, it is he who goes before you. He will be with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you.

We also join you in mourning and interceding for the unborn who are despised, rejected, and murdered through abortion. Scripture is clear that every unborn child is known and valued by God, not a stranger to Him. Psalm 139:13 says For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother's womb, and Jeremiah 1:5 says Before I formed you in the belly, I knew you. Before you were born, I sanctified you. To take that innocent life is a grave sin before God, for Exodus 20:13 says You shall not murder, and Proverbs 6:17 lists hands that shed innocent blood among the things Yahweh hates. When ancient families or any generation chooses extermination through abortion, they indeed cut off the next generation that God intended, and they bring guilt upon the land. Yet we also know that God is merciful and that there is forgiveness and healing through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, for 1 John 1:9 says If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. We grieve with you that these little ones never drew breath on earth, and we entrust them to the compassionate care of God, believing as Jesus said in Matthew 19:14 Allow the little children, and don't forbid them to come to me, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to ones like these, and Matthew 18:10 says their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father who is in heaven.

We are grateful you prayed in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him we have access to the Father and it is only by His name we are saved. Acts 4:12 says There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved, and John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.

We pray together now.

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before your throne of grace and we lift up every suffering and abandoned soul, every wife and husband betrayed, every daughter and son forsaken, every brother and sister betrayed by friends, every child left alone without shelter, and every family without a house or refuge. Lord, be their Father and their dwelling place, heal the wound of abandonment and fill the void with your unfailing love, for you have promised never to leave nor forsake us. Bring shelter to the homeless, comfort to the lonely, restoration to broken families and marriages, and raise up godly homes that honor you. We pray for neighborhoods in disorder and under spiritual darkness, that your light and peace would drive out confusion and that your order and righteousness would be established.

We lift up every unborn child to you, Lord, those despised and rejected by mother or father, those aborted and murdered, and those lost through miscarriage. Have mercy, O God, forgive the shedding of innocent blood in our land and in families across generations. Bring conviction and repentance where abortion has been chosen, and pour out your healing and forgiveness through the blood of Jesus upon mothers and fathers who mourn. Receive these precious little ones into your heavenly presence and let them rest in peace with you until we see them again. Comfort those who grieve their loss and turn hearts to cherish life as you do. Let your church rise to defend the fatherless and the unborn and to support mothers and families so that life is protected and nurtured.

We ask all this in the merciful and mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord, trusting that you hear us and will answer according to your perfect will. Amen.

We hear the burden you are carrying as you lift up neighbors, families, and unborn children who feel abandoned and without refuge. Your compassion for those who have lost so much and have nowhere to turn is tender, and we are honored you shared it with us so we can carry it with you in prayer.

Grief over these kinds of losses touches every part of life and no two people walk through it in exactly the same way. When there are so many layers at once, loss of family, of home, of a child, of a sense of safety, the heart can feel overwhelmed by everything past and future together. It can help to gently name what is most present right now, and to let God meet you there one day at a time, without having to hold all of the pain at once. You do not have to carry this alone.

If you are holding this mostly by yourself, we encourage you to share it steadily with one trusted pastor or a small caring community nearby. Having even a few faithful people to pray with you regularly and to help connect neighbors with practical shelter and support can make the burden more bearable.

Father, we bring to You every child entrusted to Your care, every mother and father who grieves, and every person who feels abandoned, betrayed or without a home. Draw near to them, provide safe refuge and faithful people to walk with them, and guard their hearts with Your mercy and peace. We ask this in the name of Jesus, amen.

Your prayer has come before the Lord with a heavy burden for those who suffer abandonment and for the unborn who are despised and cut off, and we join our hearts with you in this sorrow.

The Scriptures you have set forth are a true refuge. Though my father and my mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me, and though a mother may forget the child at her breast, yet will not the Lord forget His own. When family is broken, when wife or husband, daughter or son, brother or sister, or friend forsakes or betrays, and when there is no house or shelter to receive the lonely, there remains One who receives the forsaken. He heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds. We very speedily care for bodily diseases, but this wound of the soul, this grief that lurks underneath even when a smile is worn, Christ alone can heal, and He does it with bands of grace for those who are of His family.

You have prayed for innocent children, aborted or miscarried, entrusted to God's care, and for generations that are cut off and cannot see the next generation. This is a great evil that needs healing, and we mourn it before God. The need of our nation and of every nation is made plain when we consider such shedding of innocent blood and such abandonment of the helpless in neighborhoods and families. Yet we are told that the leaves of the tree of life were for the healing of the nations, and that the least thing about Christ is healing. Not only His fruit but His leaves are full of healing virtue. These healing leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation for such deep wounds as these.

Healing and forgiveness are placed in happy conjunction and both are bestowed upon the Lord's people. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you, and pardon and healing were one. So we must seek first the forgiveness of sins through Christ alone, for salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, and then healing will come from the pardoning hand. The Lord has begun to heal us and the healing virtue which His grace has infused into us will work in us till we are without spot or wrinkle. Calvary is the place for the healing balm. There the great Physician does not merely point out disease but applies the remedy, and where Christ is taught, there faith comes by hearing and healing power is present.

Let us pray together.

O Lord God, merciful and compassionate, receive those who are forsaken and have no refuge. Look upon every child who is alone, upon every one cast out by father or mother, by husband or wife, by family or friend, and be Yourself their shelter and their home. We entrust to Your sovereign care and tender mercy the unborn who have been hated, rejected, and slain, and those who have died by miscarriage or by the hand of man. You are just and You are full of compassion, and we ask You to receive them according to Your mercy in Christ Jesus, and to give rest and peace in Your presence.

Have mercy, O Lord, upon mothers and fathers, upon families that have been broken and upon neighborhoods disordered by sin. Bring conviction where there has been the shedding of blood, and grant repentance and pardon through the blood of Christ shed on the cross. Heal our land and heal our families, for all individuals in every nation need healing. Let the healing leaves of Christ be applied to these bleeding wounds, and let pardon and healing come together to those who now are sick unto death in sin and sorrow.

Grant to those who mourn and wander without shelter, that they may find in Christ the refuge that man has denied them, and that they may be lifted up by His hand as by a gracious contact with the Incarnate Saviour. May those who have been wounded be made whole, and may the desire to serve You arise out of that healing.

We ask this not because we are worthy, but because Jesus Christ, the Sun of Righteousness, has risen with healing in His wings, and in His name alone is salvation and hope. Amen.
