Needs

You ask for restoration of every organ and cell, for overflowing finances, to live abroad as a lender. But where is your longing for the life that cannot perish? The blessed Apostle lived, yet not he himself, but Christ lived in him. He took no thought for food or clothing, trampling upon the common life of the body. Do you not know that even unbelievers have health and wealth, yet they possess them only for a moment? The flesh profits nothing; it is the spirit that gives life. He who eats the Body of Christ dwells in Him, and Christ in him, that is the true restoration, not of cells that decay, but of the soul raised to an ineffable and immortal life.

You pray for an overflowing bank account. But our Lord commands you: take no thought for your life, what you will eat or put on. He who gives the greater things, even His own Son, will He not much more provide the lesser? Yet you must not seek these things for their own sake. The broad road of luxury, with its baths and sumptuous tables, leads to destruction. Lament those who travel it, for they hasten to hell. The narrow way is painful and strait, but it alone leads to rest. If you would be a lender, lend to the Lord by giving to the poor, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.

You desire to live abroad. But where is your citizenship? It is in heaven. The Christian is crucified to the world, he lives no longer the life of sin and earthly desires. How can you cling to a plot of foreign soil while neglecting the heavenly country? This life is but a vapor; to live is Christ, and to die is gain. Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness. Then both health and provision will be added to you, not as an idol but as a servant, while your soul is anchored in the calm of eternal safety, which no storm of the world can shake.

Your prayer brings to mind something that often goes unnoticed: our bodies and our bank accounts can so easily become the loudest voices in our lives. We feel every ache, worry over every bill, and the desire to be free of both is entirely understandable. Yet Scripture draws a gentle but firm line here. Bodily exercise, or physical wellness, holds a little profit, but it is limited. The far greater investment is spiritual exercise, training yourself in godliness. This does not mean your health does not matter, your body is, after all, the temple of the Holy Spirit, but it does mean the priority must rest on the inner life, the spirit renewed day by day, not on chasing a perfectly functioning body.

The same wisdom applies to finances. The Macedonian believers faced great trials of affliction and deep poverty. They had every reason to focus on their own survival, yet out of their joy they gave with rich liberality to help others. They became lenders in a deeper sense, not by stockpiling comfort, but by pouring out what little they had in love. Their abundance was not in their overflowing bank accounts, but in the generosity God worked in their hearts. The temptation to desire wealth so we can escape dependence on others is strong, but the path of Christ turns that upside down. If we overlook our giving and our gratitude to the Lord, we may find ourselves in a cycle described long ago: earning wages, yet never having enough, because first things have been neglected.

I hear in your request a longing to be set free, to live abroad, to owe nothing, to feel fully well. Those are not wicked desires by themselves. But the manner of living God calls us to always asks the bigger question: what is the point of all this health and provision? Paul told Timothy to be an example of the believer in his whole manner of life, in love, in faith, in purity. The world is watching to see what a Christian values most. If we chase a body-conscious existence, always mindful of our next physical need, we end up living much like the beast, driven by instinct rather than by the Spirit. A life ordered aright says, “First, I will set my heart on godliness and on serving the living God. Then, if He grants health and abundance, I will use them to bless others and to prove that my trust was in Him alone.”

Let this be a season of ordering your life according to that priority. Call upon the Lord in your trouble, He promises to answer and show you great things, but come to Him with a heart ready to be searched and reshaped. If there is any place where the desire for comfort has subtly overtaken a desire for Christ, He can restore that too. True restoration begins when we stop striving to cover our guilt or to impress others, and instead present ourselves fully to the God who sees us. May He strengthen your inner being, bring victory where you struggle, and teach you the freedom of living not for bodily or financial ease, but for His glory.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer these past days. It has been our joy to lift up your heartfelt requests before the Lord—asking Him to restore every organ and cell in your body to function better than ever, to open the floodgates of heaven so that your finances would overflow, and to make you a lender rather than a borrower. We have also prayed for God’s guidance and provision as you seek to live abroad, trusting Him to direct your steps and supply every need according to His riches in glory.

If the Lord has already moved in any of these areas, we would love to hear your praise report so we can rejoice with you! If you’re still waiting on His perfect timing, please know we are here to continue interceding on your behalf. You are welcome to post this request again so we can keep standing in agreement with you.

May the Father strengthen your faith as you seek Him, and may His peace guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
