Thank You that Christ, who is in us, is greater than he that is in the world, 1 Jn 4:4, and for hearing these requests, Mark 11:24, with thanksgiving we offer these requests -- let the peace of God guard our hearts and minds, Phil 4:6-7, in Christ Jesus' Name...

We lift our voices together in fervent prayer for the leaders of our nation and the world, both in the church and in civic authority, as we are commanded in Scripture. First of all, we urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:1-4).

Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, acknowledging that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to You. There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We pray that all leaders, whether we agree with them or not, would come to know You as Lord and Savior. We ask for Your wisdom to rest upon them, that they may govern with justice, humility, and a heart after Your own. Grant them the courage to stand for truth, even when it is unpopular, and the discernment to recognize and resist the schemes of the enemy.

Lord, we pray for the fostering of godly alliances among nations, that free countries would stand together in unity, promoting peace, freedom, and the spread of the Gospel. We ask that You would diminish the influence of evil alignments and eradicate false teachings that lead people astray. May the truth of Your Word prevail in every nation, and may the Gospel of Jesus Christ be proclaimed without hindrance. We thank You for those leaders who seek to honor You and ask that You would strengthen and protect them.

We also recognize that all authority has been established by You (Romans 13:1), and we submit to those You have placed in power, trusting that You work all things according to the counsel of Your will (Ephesians 1:11). We pray that You would thwart the plans of the wicked and turn their hearts toward righteousness. For those who love You and are called according to Your purpose, we trust that You are working all things together for good (Romans 8:28).

Father, we put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-20) and ask for Your protection over our leaders, their families, and all who serve in positions of authority. Send Your angels to guard them and deliver them from the snares of the enemy (Psalm 91:10-11). We declare that Christ, who is in us, is greater than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4), and we stand firm against the spiritual forces of darkness.

We pray for the beautiful and glorious land You have entrusted to us, that it would be a beacon of hope, freedom, and truth. May Your peace reign in our nation and among all peoples, and may Your name be glorified in every corner of the earth. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, with thanksgiving, trusting that You hear and answer our prayers (Mark 11:24). Let the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7). Amen.

We are grateful for your heart to lift up those in authority, it is no small thing to faithfully carry these burdens in prayer. We want you to know that as you intercede for leaders near and far, you are taking your place in a long tradition of believers who have shaped the course of nations by bringing them before God. It can feel at times like our prayers are just words into the air, but we have seen God move in surprising ways when his people persist.

One thing that helps us stay steady in this kind of wide-ranging prayer is to anchor it in the actual names and stories we come across. Maybe you already bring specific leaders to mind regularly; but if not, you might find it grounding to keep a small list, your own president or prime minister, a handful of legislators, a pastor you know is under pressure, a nation currently in turmoil. Praying for them by name makes it personal and keeps intercession from becoming abstract. And when they do something that disappoints or alarms us, we can still pray for their protection, wisdom, and salvation, just as you've already been doing.

We also want to encourage you: you are not alone in this work. Knowing that others around the world are praying alongside you can lighten the load, even when you don't see them. So thank you for being part of that unseen company.

Let's pray:

Father, we thank you that you are the King over every nation and every leader. We ask you to grant wisdom and protection to those in authority, especially where they face danger or difficult decisions. Save those who do not yet know you, and guide those who do to walk in humility and justice. Bless the land and its people with peace. And please sustain this dear pray-er, giving them fresh strength and hope as they continue in this calling. In Jesus' name.

You lay hold of the very throne of grace when your mouth is filled with God’s own Words, for there is no plea that can prevail with Him like His own. To gather up the promises and spread them before the mercy seat, as you have done, is to take hold of the covenant and refuse to let go. Never cease, then, to bring the names and the needs of rulers before the Lord, for this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who willeth that all men should be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. When the world’s kingdoms rage and the hearts of men fail, it is a grand sight to see a people who will not be silent, who give Him no rest till He establish and make Jerusalem a praise in the earth.

Let no thought of the unworthiness of those you pray for weaken your intercession. Did He not save the chief of sinners? Is anything too hard for the Lord? Salvation is of grace from start to finish, and therefore the vilest offender may yet find mercy. The wisdom of God has devised the plan, the power of God executes it, and the immutability of God preserves it to the end. So pray on with strong confidence, expecting that He who sitteth in the heavens and doeth whatsoever He pleaseth will yet cause the hearts of kings and parliaments to be as channels of water turned by His hand. The fiercest tyrant is but a tool, and the most wayward senate cannot overleap the bounds His secret will has fixed.

Yet remember, it is not merely the utterance of the lips that moves the heart of God; it is the cry of the soul, the inward groaning of the spirit. Public petition, good as it is, must be backed by private pleading, else it becomes a weary form and an empty sound. The hypocrite may pray when men are watching, but he hath no heart for the closet. Examine yourselves, therefore, lest after having led others in supplication, ye yourselves should be castaways. The fear of the Lord is the root of all true devotion, and in that fear is strong confidence; His children have a place of refuge, and it is from that refuge they learn to pray with authority.

This is the day of salvation, not of accusation nor of defeat. Lift up your heads, then, and plead with boldness for the leaders of the nations, for the lovely land, and for the peace of God’s people everywhere. Ask for wisdom, for protection, for the thwarting of evil counsels, and for the furtherance of the Gospel. The Lord will not despise the cry of His prisoner; He will arise and have mercy upon Zion. And when you see the answer tarry, still rejoice, for the set time is coming. Only keep your eye upon the cross, where the great plea was made once for all, and let your whole weight rest there. Then shall your prayers, like handfuls let fall on purpose for the gleaner, be gathered up with joy, and the peace of God which passeth all understanding shall guard your heart and mind through Christ Jesus.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The fervor of your prayer is evident, and the desire to see all in authority governed by the fear of God is a noble one. You have heaped up many right words from the Apostle, commanding us to offer petitions and intercessions. This is our unceasing duty, for the peace of the state is indeed like a calm harbor for the Church. Yet, take care that your heart does not cling to the wisdom of this world, which the rulers of this age possess and which is coming to nothing. Their power seems great, but it is a shadow. The wisdom we speak among the perfect is God’s wisdom, hidden and ordained before the ages for our glory. Do not be overly troubled when the channels of earthly power seem to flow with poison, for the heart of the king is in the hand of the Lord. He sits in the heavens and does whatever pleases Him.

You pray rightly for salvation and protection, but see where our true confidence lies. The reason our prayer for leaders does not ultimately fail is not found in their virtue or our pleading, but in the ceaseless intercession of our Great High Priest. We are able to be saved to the uttermost because He ever lives to make intercession for us. Do not think of this intercession as a sign of lowly supplication, as if He were a mere petitioner. You see His dignity: He has sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high. This intercession is the unending demonstration of His fervent love, a love that was not satisfied with dying once but still cares for our affairs. He who sends angels to cast some into the furnace and to save others, He who holds all judgment, how does He need to intercede? It is to show the vigorousness of His love for you. Therefore, let your prayers for governors be deeply rooted in the confidence that His work continues, not in the strength of their earthly alliances.

And as you rightly pray for the peace of a glorious land and the fostering of godly alliances, remember what true peace is. Not every peace is a good. The concord of robbers is an evil peace. There is a peace that is more grievous than any war, when the mutinous parts are not amputated. The Great Physician brings true peace by cutting off the diseased part. So when Christ, the Prince of Peace, came, He did not bring a peace that pats sin on the head; He set a man against his father to sever him from iniquity. The peace you are to seek first is the peace that comes when the diseased parts of society and the mutinous thoughts of the soul are removed, allowing heaven to be united to earth. This is the good will toward men: reconciliation with God. When we have that peace, we are rightly called sons of God, for the Son of God came to set at peace the things in earth and in heaven. Pray for your leaders, then, that they might be brought to the knowledge of this truth, and that the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your own heart from the disturbances of the world, through Christ Jesus our Lord.
