We lift our hearts together in fervent prayer for our national, world, church, and civic leaders, standing on the truth of Godβs Word. First of all, we urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good and pleases God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:1-4). Father, we come before You with humility, recognizing that Your ways are higher than ours, and Your sovereignty reigns over all the earth.
We pray for wisdom, salvation, and protection over our leaders, whether in government, the church, or civic spheres. Lord, we ask that You would grant them discernment to govern with justice, integrity, and a heart after Your own. For those who do not yet know You, we plead for their salvation, that they would turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in Christ (Acts 26:18). We rebuke any spirit of deception, pride, or corruption that seeks to influence their decisions, and we declare that Your truth will prevail.
Father, we thank You for the leaders You have placed in authority, as there is no authority except from You, and those which exist are appointed by You (Romans 13:1). We ask that You would guide them as channels of Your will, turning their hearts wherever You please (Proverbs 21:1). Strengthen the alliances between nations that seek to honor You, and dismantle the works of evil that seek to oppress, deceive, or destroy. We pray for the protection of Your people, both in the beautiful land You have given and across the nations, that they may dwell in safety and proclaim the gospel without fear.
We stand against the forces of darkness that seek to silence the truth of Your Word. Lord, we ask for the spread of free speech, press, and publication, that the gospel of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), would reach every corner of the earth. We pray for the repentance of nations and the making of disciples, as You commanded: "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you" (Matthew 28:19-20).
We put on the full armor of God, that we may stand against the schemes of the devil (Ephesians 6:10-20). We declare that no weapon formed against Your people shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that You will thwart the plans of the wicked (Psalm 33:10). We thank You for Your angels, who are ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation (Hebrews 1:14), and we ask for their protection over our leaders, our families, and our nation.
Father, we submit ourselves to You, resisting the devil so that he will flee from us (James 4:7). We trust in Your promise that all things work together for good to those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who lives and reigns forever and ever. Amen.
