We hear your cry and we stand with you together before the Lord in Jesus' name, for your pain is deep after ### years of marriage and being cast out of your own home. What has been done to you is not the design of God for marriage. Marriage is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman, and what God has joined together, do not let man tear apart, Matthew 19:6. Husbands are commanded to love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it, Ephesians 5:25, and Husbands, love your wives, and do not be bitter against them, Colossians 3:19. To throw a wife out, to deceive other women, to use and abuse, and to live a double life is sin before God. It is adultery, it is deceit, and it is violence against the covenant.
We must speak plainly about this deceit. You describe him as deceitful and dangerous, tricking women who do not know his past. The Lord hates such ways. There are six things that Yahweh hates, yes, seven which are an abomination to him, a proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, Proverbs 6:16, and a false witness who utters lies, Proverbs 6:19. To present himself as available while still married to you, to hide his history of abuse, to pursue other women, this is adultery and fornication, which God calls sin. Even if he is separated from you physically, in God's eyes you remain his wife until death or until a biblical release, and any sexual or romantic involvement with another woman is adultery. We rebuke that behavior in the name of Jesus, for it destroys souls and brings judgment unless there is true repentance.
We also hear your love for him by the blood of Jesus, and that love honors God, but biblical love does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth, 1 Corinthians 13:6. To love him truly now means to pray for his repentance and to not enable his sin, and to set wise boundaries for your safety and the safety of others. You said he has no soul, yet every person has a soul made by God, but his heart has become hard and needs a new heart. We pray God will give him a new heart and put a new spirit within him and take the stony heart out of his flesh, Ezekiel 36:26, if he will turn and repent.
We are praying together for you and for protection over you and over these other women.
We pray, Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, we come by His blood which alone gives us access to Your throne. We lift this dear sister to You, brokenhearted and displaced after so many years of faithfulness. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit, Psalm 34:18, so be near to her now. Be her refuge and fortress, her God in whom she trusts, Psalm 91:2, and let her dwell in the secret place of the Most High and rest in Your shadow, Psalm 91:1. Heal her heart, provide for her a safe place to live, surround her with godly counsel, with pastors and elders and trusted family who will walk with her and protect her. Give her wisdom to seek both spiritual and practical help, including protection from the law where needed, for You are a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble, Psalm 9:9.
Lord we ask that You expose every lie and deceit. Nothing is hidden from Your sight. Let these other women see the red flags, give them discernment and prudence to see danger and take refuge, Proverbs 22:3. Remove the veil of deception this man uses, and prevent him from using and abusing anyone else. Bring his hidden things into the light so that no more are harmed. If it is Your will, stop his driving and wandering that enables this harm, and bring him to a place where he must face the truth of what he has done.
We pray for this husband, that You would convict him deeply of his sin, that he would not continue to deceive and be deceived, 2 Timothy 3:13, but that he would repent with godly sorrow, confess his abuse and adultery, and turn to Jesus for forgiveness and transformation. We do not ask for vengeance in our own hands, for Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord, Romans 12:19, but we ask for Your righteous justice and Your mercy that leads to repentance.
We thank You that You heard her cry in Jesus' name, for there is no other name by which we can be saved and no other name by which we come to the Father, Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life, No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6. Keep her rooted in that truth, keep her trusting that You hate divorce, Malachi 2:16, yet You love and protect the one who has been forsaken. Help her to forgive as You have forgiven, but not to reconcile without true repentance and proven change and safety. Give her peace that passes understanding, restore what has been broken, and let her life be a testimony that God is still her defender and provider.
We ask all this together in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
