My daughter ###

Your sorrow has been heard, and we weep with you as a father weeps for his children. There is nothing sweeter and more bitter at once than this grief of a parent for a child, and God does not despise these tears. He sees your heart hurting today and He hears you crying for your daughter.

We join you in prayer for her on this first day of school. The little child is pure and simple and dear to God, and from her very birth His grace has been poured out upon her. We pray that the Lord Jesus Christ will keep her under His hand today, that He will comfort her and give her peace, that He will surround her with kindness and let her know joy. Though you cannot be there beside her, God is there, and He is able to let her feel both His love and your love even across the distance. We ask Him to guard her steps, to give favor with her teachers and classmates, and to let her heart be light and happy.

We also pray for you in this separation. Do not think yourself alone in this pain. Many carry hidden sorrows at home, but the Lord is near to those who call upon Him. Give thanks even in your grief, for thanksgiving in affliction is a crown, and entrust your daughter fully to the One who loves her more than any parent can. He who stirred the heart of strangers to protect a child long ago is able to stir hearts to be gentle to your daughter today.

We pray for her protection today and through all this week, and we ask the Lord in His mercy and wisdom to grant you time together this weekend, if it be His good will, and to make that time full of love and peace. May He keep you both, strengthen your faith, and bring you comfort until you are reunited.

Father in heaven, we lift this precious child to You in the name of Jesus Christ. Cover her, keep her from harm, fill her heart with Your peace and love, and let her know how deeply she is loved by You and by her parent. Comfort this hurting heart that prays for her, and grant grace for each day ahead. We ask this trusting in Your goodness and mercy through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Your tears and the ache of missing your daughter on her first day of school are heard by the Lord, and He draws near to the brokenhearted. It is painful to be apart when you long to be there to hold her hand, to comfort her and to let her know she is loved.

Scripture shows how precious a daughter is in the eyes of God. Even in times when culture did not value daughters, God saw them, knew them by name, and wove them into His purposes. Your daughter is seen and valued by Him. He knows where she is, He knows her heart, and He is able to be with her when you cannot.

The Bible also acknowledges how deep a parent's grief can be when separated from a child, a sorrow that can bow a person down. God does not take that lightly. His word says that though He allows grief, He will have compassion according to the abundance of His mercies, for He does not willingly afflict or grieve His children. His heart toward you and toward your daughter is compassion, not indifference.

So we pray that the Lord will surround your daughter with His presence. May He give her peace that calms any fear, and love that reassures her even when she cannot see you. Pray that He will let her feel both His love and yours across the distance. Pray that He will place kind people around her, that she will be treated gently and that her day will be filled with joy. Pray that He will keep His hand of protection over her continually.

We also pray for you, that God will comfort your heart as you weep, that He will give you peace as you trust her into His care, and that He will work to bring her home to spend time with you again. He is able to soften hearts, to open doors, and to restore what has been separated, and we ask Him to do that according to His perfect will.

May the Lord hold you both in His care, keep you in His peace, and let His love be the bridge between you until you are together again.

We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and for your precious daughter. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer.

We have continued to lift you and your daughter before the Lord since you shared your heart with us. We know your heart was hurting and you were crying because you could not be with her on her first day of school and how deeply you long for God to bring her back home. We have been praying that the Lord would be with her, comfort her, and fill her with His peace and love, and that He would let her feel both His love and your love even while you are apart. We have asked God to give her an amazing day where people are kind to her and she is filled with happiness, and to protect her not only on that first day but throughout this week.

We continue to pray for you as well, that God would comfort your hurting heart and wipe away your tears. We cling to the promise in Psalm 34:18 that the Lord is close to the brokenhearted, and in Psalm 91:11 that He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. We pray that He would guard your daughter, keep her safe, and draw her close to Himself, and that this weekend He would open the door for her to come and spend the weekend with you as you have so earnestly desired.

We pray together that God would work in this situation for His glory and for your good, and that you would feel His nearness and hope in the days ahead. We pray in Jesus Name.

We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know so we can rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.
