Beloved of All
We are joining you in prayer for your daughter in this important senior year, asking the Lord to fill these months with true joy, wholesome friendships, and good memories that will strengthen her for the years ahead. It is a beautiful thing to ask God for kindness and friendship in this season, and to ask Him to keep her heart close to Jesus above all else.
Scripture teaches that marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, bound as long as both shall live, and that within that covenant a husband is called to love his wife as Christ loved the church and a wife to respect and support her husband. That mutual love and respect is what makes a marriage reflect the love of Christ, and when those simple callings are followed, marriage can be a great blessing. Scripture also teaches that to avoid sexual immorality, intimacy and living together belong only within that marriage covenant, and that a believer is at liberty to be married to whom she will, only in the Lord.
So we are praying that your daughter will walk in purity and wisdom, seeking the Lord first and finding her joy and identity in Him. If the Lord brings a young man into her life, we pray he will be a man who truly loves the Lord with all his heart, and that any friendship or relationship would be marked by honesty, kindness, and respect, with clear boundaries that honor God. A relationship that is in the Lord carries a godly influence that can lead a future home and any children toward a holy life rather than the way of the world, and that is worth waiting and praying for.
We pray that God will surround her with friends who encourage her faith, guard her heart from pressure to compromise, and give her discernment to recognize character that reflects Christ. Above all we pray she will grow in her love for Jesus, trusting Him to guide her steps and to bring the right person in His perfect time and way, if it is His will for her to marry.
May the Lord bless her senior year, keep her in His peace, and draw her ever closer to Himself as she looks to the future He has prepared.
