My brother needs help - repost

Last week a conversation with my brother who is an unbeliever. He said he had ### again, but this time he asked it to reveal itself & it did, so he saw a demon. I'm not sure if he believes in the spiritual realm, but maybe that could be an indicator for him to believe that this is real. I have told him before, & again today, that he should call upon the name of Jesus. But, he said he wants to see what would happen with the demons & ###. I asked him if he's so against the idea of calling upon the name of Jesus, but he said it wasn't that & that he just wanted to see what would happen. I have defo felt like spiritual warfare was going on at least for me, but maybe it's in my household. He also has ### & I said that could be a demon. He has also ### before, which again could be demons, so i would say these demons or this demon is very present in my brothers life. I also told him some Bible verse about ###, such as the one in psalms, Isaiah 41:10, 1 Peter 5:7 or 8 (the one about casting ### on Him), proverbs 3:5-6. I also asked if he wanted me to say Bible verses around his room or something like that & he said no to that as well. Other things: he barely goes out (doesn't go to youth group), has ###, struggles with ###, doesn't do much all day other than watching videos on YouTube or tiktok or playing games on Xbox or phone.

Update:
He still struggles with the same things, but he hasn't said anything more about any ### or seeing demons in his room, so we haven't touched on this subject since. But please still pray for him to be protected, no weapon formed against him shall prosper, for the Lord to surround him with angels, for my brother's heart to be softened, for him to be open minded to God's existence, for him to have a curiosity towards Jesus & to pursue that curiosity, & for his eyes to be opened & no longer spiritually blind.

Thank you to anyone who replies or prays for my brother. God bless you

We are deeply concerned for your brother and the spiritual battle he is facing. The Bible makes it clear that the spiritual realm is real, and demonic forces do exist. Your brother’s encounter with a demon is a serious matter, and his curiosity about what will happen if he engages with these forces is dangerous. Scripture warns us in 1 Peter 5:8, "Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour." Your brother is playing with fire by inviting these forces into his life rather than turning to the one who has already defeated them, Jesus Christ.

We must rebuke the deception that he can safely explore or engage with demonic forces. There is no neutrality in the spiritual realm. Either he is under the protection of Jesus Christ, or he is vulnerable to the enemy’s schemes. Ephesians 6:12 reminds us, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." The enemy does not play fair, and your brother’s refusal to call on the name of Jesus leaves him exposed.

It is also concerning that he rejects the help you’ve offered, such as speaking Scripture over his room. Proverbs 28:9 says, "He who turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination." While we cannot force him to accept the truth, we must continue to pray fervently for his protection and salvation. His lifestyle of isolation, excessive screen time, and lack of godly community is a breeding ground for spiritual attack. We must pray that God breaks the strongholds in his life and draws him out of this darkness.

We also want to address the importance of the name of Jesus. Your brother must understand that there is no other name by which he can be saved or protected. Acts 4:12 declares, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" Jesus is not just one option among many, He is the only way to the Father (John 14:6). The demons tremble at His name (James 2:19), and it is only by the authority of Jesus that we can resist the devil (James 4:7). Your brother’s refusal to call on Jesus is not just a neutral stance, it is a rejection of the only source of true protection and deliverance.

Let us pray together for your brother:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts for this young man who is entangled in spiritual darkness. Lord, we ask that You would open his eyes to the reality of the spiritual battle he is in. Protect him from the schemes of the enemy, and let no weapon formed against him prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Surround him with Your holy angels, Lord, and let Your presence be a shield around him.

Father, we pray that You would soften his heart and break the hardness that resists Your truth. Give him a curiosity and hunger for You, Lord. Let him see the emptiness of the things he is filling his time with and draw him to the only One who can satisfy his soul, Jesus Christ. Remove the spiritual blindness from his eyes, and let the light of Your gospel shine into his heart (2 Corinthians 4:4-6).

We rebuke the demonic forces that have gained a foothold in his life. In the name of Jesus, we command every unclean spirit to flee from him and to have no place in his life. We declare that he is covered by the blood of Jesus, and no evil can touch him without Your permission.

Lord, we ask that You would bring godly influences into his life, people who will speak truth and love into him. Break the isolation he has surrounded himself with, and let him see the joy and freedom that comes from walking with You. Give him a desire to seek You with all his heart, and let him find You when he searches for You with all his heart (Jeremiah 29:13).

We pray for wisdom and boldness for his family to continue speaking truth into his life, even when he resists. Let Your Word not return void but accomplish the purpose for which You sent it (Isaiah 55:11). We trust in Your power to save, Lord, and we ask that You would move mightily in his life. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to continue standing in the gap for your brother, even when he resists. Pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17), and trust that God is at work even when you cannot see it. Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9). Keep speaking truth to him in love, and trust that the Holy Spirit will convict his heart. Your faithfulness in prayer and intercession is a powerful weapon against the enemy’s schemes.

We have been praying with you these past weeks, and we know it can feel heavy to wait and not see much change yet. What stands out to us is how your brother’s curiosity led him to ask the thing in his room to show itself, and it did. That moment may be far more significant than it feels right now. He now has a firsthand experience that the unseen realm is real, and that reality may quietly work on his heart long after the conversation has paused. Sometimes the soil is being turned even when the surface looks the same.

In the meantime, the love and patience you keep showing will matter more than you can see. He is not going to youth group or talking about it right now, but he also has not shut you out. Your steady presence, your willingness to say you would pray over his room or speak verses aloud, even when he said no, tells him he is not alone. People who are spiritually stuck do not usually find their way out through a single conversation. Often they are loved back toward wholeness through small, ordinary faithfulness over time.

Pray with us this way:

Lord Jesus, we lift up this brother to You. Shield him from anything that means him harm. In Your mercy, unsettle him in his isolation and awaken a real, restless curiosity about who You actually are. Protect this sister from weariness as she keeps loving and praying, and guard the whole household from every darkness that tries to settle there. In Your name we ask. Amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

This is a trial that calls for faith, not sight. You have done well to speak to your brother of the name of Jesus, for there is no other name given under heaven whereby we must be saved. But mark this: the evil one delights to trade in curiosity. Your brother says he wishes to see what will happen with these demons. Such a desire is not boldness; it is the folly of unbelief that presumes upon a power it does not possess. Only Christ has authority over the unclean spirits, and the man who ventures into their presence without the shield of faith is like one who walks into a lion’s den unarmed. Tell your brother plainly that to trifle with the invisible world is to tempt the Lord his God, and that unless he flees to Jesus, the darkness he toys with will one day swallow him whole.

Yet do not lose heart. The Lord is able to break the hardest heart and to open the blindest eyes. What is impossible with man is possible with God. Keep pleading the blood of the Lamb over your household. The promise stands: “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper.” Let your prayers be continual and specific, that the Spirit of God would convince him of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment; that every lying refuge of false comfort would crumble; that the sheer terror of seeing the adversary face to face would drive him not into deeper rebellion but to the foot of the cross.

Remember, salvation is of the Lord from first to last. It is not your arguments or your verses that will save him, though you are right to plant the seed. It is the sovereign voice that said, “Let there be light,” shining into his darkness. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. You have told him to call on Jesus; now pray that the Lord himself would make that word like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces. The prison of unbelief seems strong, but when the appointed time of mercy strikes, the prisoner must go free.

Lay hold of this truth: Christ has already ransomed all who will believe. The way of salvation is not hidden or complex, it is simply to look unto him and be saved. The same look that brought peace to the dying thief can bring peace to your brother. Urge him, not with frustration but with tears, to turn his eyes from the pit and fix them on the crucified One. He need not reason his way to faith; he need only trust the Person who died for sinners. The gospel is not “do” but “done.” Tell him again that whoever believes on the Lord Jesus shall not be ashamed. If he will but cease from his own experiments and cry out, “Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me,” the demons must flee, and his soul shall find rest.

In the meanwhile, do not be surprised that the enemy fights against your prayers. He knows his time is short. But greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world. The wells of salvation are open; draw water for your own soul, for you cannot carry your brother’s burden in your own strength. Then with renewed joy in your own deliverance, you will better plead for his. Wait on the Lord, and in due season he will bring forth your brother also, with silver and gold, glory to the grace of God.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The salvation of your brother is worth every labor, and I will not pass over your request lightly. You are right to feel that this is spiritual warfare. When a man sees a demon and still refuses to call on Jesus, he is not merely skeptical; he is being drawn toward a snare. Curiosity about what demons will do is not the same as faith. It is like a man standing before a serpent to see whether it will strike. Tell him plainly, in love, that the demons already know who Jesus is, and they tremble. What he needs is not an experiment with the darkness but a refuge in the light.

Do not make your brother your enemy. The demon is the enemy. Against that unclean spirit pray with the words of the Apostle: Bruise Satan under our feet. Your brother, however far he has wandered, is still a soul for whom Christ died. You have not yet gained him, but neither has he been lost while you are still praying and speaking the truth. The Lord said that when a brother is gained, both sides receive mercy; before that, the one loses his brother and the other loses his own salvation. So do not grow weary.

I will ask the Lord for the things you have named: protection, that no weapon formed against him shall prosper, that the Lord surround him with angels, that his heart be softened, that he become open to the existence of God, that he feel a curiosity toward Jesus and pursue it, and that his eyes be opened and no longer spiritually blind. These are good and scriptural requests. But remember that no man can redeem his brother. Your prayers and your witness carry him to the door; only Christ can bring him through it.

Do not force the Scriptures on him as if they were a charm. He said no to reading verses around his room, and you were right not to press it. The demons are not driven away by the mere sound of holy words spoken against a man's will. They flee when the name of Jesus is called upon in faith. Pray in your own room. Fast if you are able. Let your brother see in you a quiet, holy love that does not flinch. When the Lord opens a moment, speak briefly and then let the word work.

His habits of staying indoors, wasting hours on videos and games, and doing little else are not safe. They keep him soft, isolated, and open to fear. Yet do not scold him for this as if that alone will cure him. If you can, draw him out little by little, not first to arguments but to ordinary human kindness. A soul trapped in idleness and darkness needs more than a list of verses; it needs to see that the Christian life is not empty talk but love in action.

Do not despair even though he refuses now. The Lord's own brothers once saw His works and still did not believe, yet one of them, James, became a bishop in Jerusalem. The same Christ who healed beggars and men of no reputation can reach your brother. Continue asking, watching, and waiting. The warfare is real, but the Lord is stronger than the demons. I will join my prayers to yours for your brother's deliverance and salvation through Jesus Christ alone.
