We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and we are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer for your mother and for your own walk through this difficult season.
We have continued to lift up your mother before the Lord, asking for her deliverance and healing from the severe emotional and behavioral struggles that you shared are rooted in spiritual oppression as well as trauma and mental illness. We pray that every door that has given influence to the enemy in her life would be closed and that she would experience freedom and wholeness in Christ, for whom the Son sets free is free indeed John 8:36. We thank God that you have already seen some improvement as you have led her away from those harmful influences and we pray that the Lord would complete the work He has begun in her.
We also continue to pray for the specific hurdle you mentioned regarding counseling. We understand your desire to speak privately with your pastor and elders without your mother present, especially when her constant presence and occasional combative attitude toward church and her sharing of wrong information makes it difficult for you to seek wise counsel about matters involving her family. We pray that God would open the door for that private time of counseling, that He would provide wisdom and discernment to your church leaders, and that He would make a way where there seems to be no way James 1:5.
We are also praying for you as you navigate the controlling influence you are now recognizing in your life and as you love and honor your mother. We ask the Lord to grant you patience, strength and peace and to produce in you His fruit of patience and gentleness Gal 5:22, so that you may continue to love her well while also walking in healthy boundaries and truth.
