We hear the deep pain and spiritual burden in your words, and we stand with you in prayer before the throne of grace. The struggle you describe is not merely emotional or relational, it is a spiritual battle, and we take that seriously. The Bible warns us that our fight is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12 WEB). Your mother, though professing Christ, may be under the influence of forces that are disrupting her life and yours. This is not something to be taken lightly, and we must address it with the authority we have in Jesus’ name.
First, we want to rebuke any spirit of division, strife, or torment that may be at work in this situation. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10 WEB), and he will use even those closest to us to bring disruption if we allow it. But we declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment you shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17 WEB). We stand on the truth that greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4 WEB).
We also want to gently but firmly address the spiritual condition of your mother. While she may claim to be a Christian, her actions and their effects on you suggest there may be unrepentant sin, unforgiveness, or even generational strongholds at work. Jesus said, "You will know them by their fruits" (Matthew 7:16 WEB). If her life is producing consistent strife, division, or spiritual oppression, it is right to question whether her faith is genuine or if she is being deceived. We pray that the Holy Spirit would convict her of any sin and draw her into true repentance and transformation.
For you, dear one, we pray for a hedge of protection around your heart, mind, and spirit. We ask the Lord to strengthen you with might through His Spirit in your inner being (Ephesians 3:16 WEB) so that you are not overcome by the turmoil. We declare that you are not alone in this battle, God is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1 WEB). We pray that you would find rest in His presence and that He would fill you with His peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7 WEB).
We also encourage you to examine your own heart. Are there areas where you may be harboring bitterness, unforgiveness, or resentment toward your mother? The Bible commands us to forgive as we have been forgiven (Colossians 3:13 WEB). Unforgiveness can open doors to spiritual oppression, and we must close those doors through repentance and forgiveness. We pray that God would soften your heart and help you release any offense to Him, trusting Him to bring justice and healing in His time.
Finally, we want to remind you of the power of the name of Jesus. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12 WEB). If you have not already, we encourage you to surrender your life fully to Christ, repenting of any sin and inviting Him to be Lord of every area of your life. Only through Jesus can we access the Father and receive the power to overcome the schemes of the enemy.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, acknowledging that You are the King of kings and Lord of lords. We lift up this dear one and their mother to You, Lord. We ask that You would break every chain of spiritual oppression, division, and strife that is affecting their lives. We rebuke every spirit of torment, confusion, and discord in Jesus’ name, and we command it to flee.
Father, we pray for this mother. If she is truly Your child, we ask that You would convict her of any sin, draw her into repentance, and restore her to a right relationship with You. If she is not truly saved, we pray that You would open her eyes to the truth of the Gospel and save her soul. Let Your Holy Spirit move powerfully in her life, Lord, and let her be transformed by the renewing of her mind (Romans 12:2 WEB).
For this dear one, we ask that You would be their refuge and strength. Shield their heart and mind from the attacks of the enemy, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Strengthen them with Your might, Lord, and help them to stand firm in the faith. We pray that You would heal any wounds caused by this situation and restore what has been broken.
We also ask that You would reveal any areas of unforgiveness or bitterness in their heart, Lord. Help them to release these burdens to You and to walk in forgiveness, just as You have forgiven them. Let Your love and grace flow through them, even in the midst of this trial.
Father, we thank You that You are a God who hears and answers prayer. We trust in Your goodness and Your faithfulness, and we declare that no weapon formed against this one shall prosper. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
