Mother

Dhitlor

Good and Faithful Servant
Please pray for me about this: I'm very overwhelmed by my mother lately. My mother is a professing Christian but is severely demonized. I'm not just saying this or being superstitious. There are multiple factors in her life that caused this and others have noted these spiritual problems before as well. I always mention this because in the past, I have been accused of being superstitious when I try to explain my mother's issues. Because of my mother's demonization, she is constantly, constantly being used by Satan to target me even though it is often unknowingly. In recent days, I have been dealing with numerous health conditions that the enemy often takes advantage of to target me more when I have flare ups of them and, of course, subsequently, my mother's behavior has been so difficult to deal with. I'm trying to be patient with her especially because her behavior is not truly her own but sometimes it is so difficult. Please pray for me about this. Since I started working this year, the added stress of having a job in conjunction with her behavior is overwhelming at times. Thank you.

We hear your heart and the deep burden you carry, not only for your own struggles but for your mother’s spiritual condition. The Bible is clear that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). What you are describing is a very real spiritual warfare, and we stand with you in prayer, fully acknowledging the seriousness of demonic influence in the life of a believer. It is not superstition to recognize the enemy’s work, Jesus Himself cast out demons, and the early church confronted this darkness with authority in His name (Mark 16:17, Acts 16:18).

First, we must rebuke the enemy’s schemes against you and your mother in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. The devil seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but Jesus came to give life abundantly. We declare that any assignment of the enemy to use your mother against you, to exacerbate your health struggles, or to bring division and strife is broken right now by the blood of Jesus and the power of His resurrection. We command every lying spirit, spirit of accusation, and spirit of infirmity to flee in Jesus’ name. The Word says, "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" (James 4:7). You are not fighting this battle alone, we stand with you in spiritual authority, and the Lord fights for you.

Your patience and love for your mother, despite the difficulty, is a testament to the Holy Spirit working in you. Even when her actions are influenced by darkness, you are choosing to see her as God sees her, a beloved child in need of deliverance. We pray that the Lord would give you supernatural strength, wisdom, and discernment in how to respond to her. The Bible tells us, "Bless those who persecute you; bless, and don’t curse" (Romans 12:14). This does not mean ignoring the spiritual reality, but rather, responding with the love and truth of Christ. You may need to set boundaries to protect your own well-being, both spiritually and physically, while still extending grace. Seek godly counsel from a pastor or mature believer who understands spiritual warfare and can help you navigate this with wisdom.

We also lift up your health struggles. The enemy often targets our bodies when we are weak, but we serve a God who heals. We pray for divine healing over every condition you are facing. The Lord says, "By His stripes we are healed" (Isaiah 53:5). We ask the Holy Spirit to strengthen your body, renew your energy, and give you the stamina to endure this season. Remember, the Lord is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). He sees your tears and collects them in a bottle (Psalm 56:8). You are not forgotten.

The stress of work, combined with this spiritual battle at home, is immense. We pray that the Lord would give you peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). That He would order your steps, provide moments of rest, and surround you with His presence. The Bible says, "Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you" (1 Peter 5:7). You do not have to carry this burden alone. We encourage you to spend time in God’s Word, allowing His truth to renew your mind and strengthen your spirit. Meditate on scriptures that remind you of His power, love, and faithfulness. The enemy wants you to feel isolated and overwhelmed, but the Lord is your ever-present help.

For your mother, we pray for her deliverance and freedom. The Bible says, "If the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed" (John 8:36). We ask the Lord to break every chain of demonic influence in her life. We pray that she would have a fresh encounter with the Holy Spirit, that her eyes would be opened to the truth, and that she would turn fully to Jesus for her freedom. The Lord desires her wholeness and restoration. We also pray for those around her, friends, family, or church members, who may not understand the spiritual battle she is facing. May the Lord raise up believers who can stand with her in prayer and intercession, speaking life and truth into her situation.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name. We thank You that You are our refuge, our strength, and our deliverer. Lord, we lift up this dear sister and her mother to You. We rebuke every assignment of the enemy against them. We break every chain of demonic influence in the life of her mother, and we declare that she is a child of God, bought by the blood of Jesus. Father, we ask for Your divine protection over this sister, protect her mind, her body, and her spirit from the attacks of the enemy. Give her wisdom, discernment, and supernatural patience as she navigates this difficult season.

Lord, we ask for Your healing touch over her health. Strengthen her body, renew her energy, and give her the stamina to endure. We declare that by the stripes of Jesus, she is healed. Father, we also ask for Your peace to flood her heart and mind. Help her to cast all her anxieties on You, knowing that You care for her. Surround her with Your presence and remind her that she is never alone.

For her mother, Lord, we pray for a breakthrough. Break every chain of darkness in her life. Fill her with Your Holy Spirit and lead her into all truth. Raise up godly believers who can stand with her in prayer and intercession. Father, we ask that You would soften her heart and open her eyes to see the freedom that is found only in You.

We thank You, Lord, that You are faithful and that Your Word does not return void. We trust in Your power to deliver, heal, and restore. We declare that this sister and her mother are covered by the blood of Jesus, and no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Continue to stand firm in your faith, dear sister. The battle is real, but the victory is already won through Christ. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and do not grow weary in doing good (Galatians 6:9). You are not fighting this battle alone, we stand with you, and more importantly, the Lord of Hosts fights for you. If you have not already, consider seeking out a pastor or spiritual mentor who can provide additional support and prayer. The Lord is your strength, and He will see you through this season.

We hear how exhausting this rhythm has become for you, physically drained by your own health, stretched thin by a new job, and then coming home to a household atmosphere that seems to fight against your own peace. When Scripture-heavy words have already been spoken, sometimes what’s needed most is simply someone who sits with you in the ache and says, “That truly sounds heavy to carry day after day.”

What strikes us is that you’re not writing from a place of naive superstition. You’ve watched this pattern long enough, and others have seen it too. That sense of being targeted, whether through her words, her timing, or just that oppressive atmosphere, wears you down in a way that’s hard to explain to anyone who hasn’t lived it. And when your body flares up, you have even less margin to absorb it all.

Since you mention ongoing health conditions that the enemy exploits during flare-ups, we’d gently encourage you to keep walking with a trusted doctor as well, not instead of prayer, but so that your body receives every form of care available. Sometimes the most practical act of warfare is tending to the physical vessel you’re fighting from.

In the day-to-day, it may help to remember that this season, working while managing both illness and household tension, is genuinely a season of heightened vulnerability. When everything feels amplified, even small anchors can steady you. A brief pause before you walk through the door after work, asking the Holy Spirit to settle your own spirit, might not change her, but it can fortify you. And if there is one trusted friend or mentor who already understands the spiritual dimension here, staying connected with them even briefly can remind you that you’re not alone in seeing what you see.

Lord Jesus, you see this daughter navigating sickness, new work demands, and the ache of watching her mother be used to wound her. Sustain her body through these flare-ups. Give her wisdom for when to engage and when to quietly entrust the moment to you. Shield her mind from despair, and bring her steady, grounded allies who will pray with understanding. Have mercy on her mother, and in your timing, break what only you can break. For now, hold your child close. Amen.

The enemy is baffled when patience and resignation shine forth from the saint under trial. The tempter would gladly snatch away every comfort if he could but extract one rebellious word; yet when faith holds fast, his cruel efforts reap nothing but his own defeat. You speak of being overwhelmingly targeted, even so, you have heard of the patience of Job, which the Holy Spirit Himself saw fit to record for our learning. That ancient sufferer was assailed through every earthly channel, yet he fell to the ground and worshipped, and in all this he sinned not. The grief you carry for your mother is not itself sinful; a mother's grief and a mother's love are sacred things, and the sorrow that wrings your heart because of her bondage is not rebellion. But let not the sustained assault press you into despairing of God’s righteous ordering, for Job himself had to retract his pleadings and confess that his Maker must be right.

Set this firmly in your mind: our longest sorrows have a close, and there is a bottom to the profoundest depths of misery. The night shall not hang its darkness forever; the Lord turned the captivity of Job when he prayed for his friends. Learn today to imitate that example. You speak of your mother’s behavior not truly being her own, in this you touch upon a fearful reality, for the adversary can use even a professing believer as a vessel of trial, just as Job’s own friends spoke harshly and heaped fresh wounds upon his sores. Yet what was Job’s path to deliverance? He prayed for his offending friends, and it was then that his own captivity was turned. Intercede for your mother; not merely enduring her, but laying her case before the throne with weeping heart. Let your charity be of the heart. Consider her enslaved state, lay her sorrows to your own soul, and lend your eyes to weep and your heart to mourn for her. This is no superstition, it is the weapon that defeats the foe who would use her to wear out your patience.

Be mindful that health trials and added labor can breed a secret fear that you shall lose all freshness and strength. Job himself knew the loss of his glory and cried out, “My glory was fresh in me,” as a thing departed. If any alarm whispers that you will share the same lot, recall that God’s bow in the saint’s hand is often renewed; fresh oil is promised. The feebleness of your body is no token of His rejection. Even the house appointed for all living is ever before us, and that sober knowledge should cast out the pride that would dispute with God, saying, “Should it be according to your mind?” You note the enemy takes advantage of your physical flares, this is true, yet the brightest gem in faith’s crown is to cling to Him even when He seems to slay.

Do not shirk the hard thought: the Lord may permit this torment to prove that you fear Him for nothing else but Himself. What if He withholds the ease you crave? What if the boil is left unhealed and the burden unrested? I say it calmly, blessed is the one who becomes more than a conqueror by trusting a God who seems to smite. You shall not lose the joy of your salvation; the despair of the past need not return. Hold your peace even from speaking rashly of what you do not fully see. But take care that you do not restrain prayer before God under this pressure, for to cease pleading is the sure road to sinking. Cry out for her and for yourself, and wait with childlike confidence, for the end of the Lord is to be seen, Satan shall be foiled with his own weapons, and when God has gotten His end in the trial, there comes a turning. Therefore be not consumed by the whirlwind of her troubles or your own frail frame; one stronger than Job’s friends or the adversary Himself is your shield. Your bow shall be renewed. The morning will break.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The trial you describe is indeed grievous, not only from the outward affliction of your mother’s actions but also from the weight of knowing her true self is held captive. Yet remember this: patience is born in such storms. When the enemy rages and uses even those dear to us as instruments, it is an opportunity to manifest that patience which is not of two or three days but endures long, as the Apostle says. This patience works probation, and probation hope, a hope that does not disappoint because it is anchored in God who has promised deliverance. Do not let faintheartedness make you think the promise has failed; rather, believe that He who allows the testing will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

Consider the commandment: Honor thy father and thy mother. This is not only for when they are easy to honor, but becomes a spiritual sacrifice when their behavior is twisted by the adversary. Your mother, as you rightly perceive, is not truly acting of herself. Therefore, endure it not as from her hand but as a conflict permitted by God for your refining. Love her, for this is to love God, to endure and not be troubled. Christ Himself, for our sake, bore the contradiction of sinners and took to Himself a mother of low estate, knowing full well the trials of family life. His patience is our pattern.

Let the Scriptures be your comfort and your nerve. In them, you will find strength for patience, and patience will sustain your hope. Do not seek immediate relief as though God were untrustworthy if He delays; for that is the very nature of faith: to wait and not to faint. The added stress of your labor and health burdens is not hidden from Him. He who feeds the ravens numbers your sighs. Only hold on with a vigorous soul, and do not let the blast of this impulse overwhelm you, for that would be a hell of your own making. Approach this with a priestly mind, offering continual service and patience, as those who wait upon the altar.

Let us pray: O Lord, who makest the storm to cease, look upon this affliction. Rebuke the spirit that troubles this mother, and break every chain. Grant Thy servant an unwavering patience, a hope that defies despair, and a love that overcomes evil. Make the trial bearable, and send a swift release, that both mother and child may glorify Thee in liberty. For Thou art the God of all endurance and hope. Amen.

The anguish in your words is not lost on me, and I want you to know that your request is being lifted up in prayer. You are not being superstitious. Scripture itself speaks plainly of those who are demonized, and Jesus demonstrated His absolute authority over every dark spirit. When a person opens a door to the enemy, either through their own choices or through the sins committed against them, the oppression that follows can be relentless. You are right to recognize that much of your mother’s behavior flows from a source beyond mere human stubbornness, and you are wise to refuse to let that recognition become an excuse for bitterness. Patience wears thin quickly when your own body is under siege from illness and your mind is weighed down by the demands of work. I hear the strain of someone who is trying to stand in the gap for a loved one while feeling utterly spent.

When Jesus faced a man who was demonized, the evil spirits begged not to be sent out of the country. The deliverance was immediate and decisive when He spoke, yet until that moment came, the man had been torn and tormented. Your mother’s condition is grievous, but it is not beyond the reach of Christ’s power. In the meantime, God has not abandoned you to fend for yourself. He knows the peculiar loneliness of being targeted through a family bond that was designed for nurture and safety. The prophetic Scriptures speak of a day when even the most tender natural affections would grow cold and twisted under the weight of sin and spiritual conflict, so you are treading a path others have walked before you. Jesus Himself redefined family not by bloodline but by obedience to the Father’s will, reminding His disciples that those who do the will of God are His mother and brothers. This does not erase your duty to honor your mother, but it does open a door for you to receive the care and support of your true spiritual family, the body of Christ, when your natural family becomes a source of deep wounding.

Your physical health trials are not a sign of weak faith or a lack of devotion. Some of the most faithful believers have carried tremendous physical burdens. The apostle John greeted Gaius with a wish that he might prosper and be in good health even as his soul prospered, and while that is a personal greeting rather than an unconditional guarantee, it points to a profound truth: the state of your soul deeply influences your capacity to endure in the body. When your spirit is overwhelmed within you, that is the moment to pour it all out before the Lord. David knew that feeling when his own son hunted him down, when the refuge of home was stolen and his heart was empty and desolate. He did not pretend the strain wasn’t there. He cried out, “When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I.” The very act of praying, of refocusing on God rather than on the crashing waves, is itself a step onto that rock.

He is your rock and your salvation, your defense. He knows your path, even when hidden snares have been laid by the enemy. The persecution the early church faced did not destroy it; it sifted the sincere from the superficial and drove believers deeper into dependence on Christ. Their faith grew exceedingly, and their love for one another abounded. That same dynamic can operate in your life now. You are being sifted, but you are not being sifted alone. The Lord sees the covert attacks and the open weariness, and He is righteous. He will not forget your work and the love you have shown, even as you labor and have no rest.

I will pray specifically for your physical strength and for the daily demands of your job to be met with grace. I will pray that the words of Christ, which carry all authority, would silence every lying and tormenting voice affecting your mother, and that God would grant you clear, Spirit-led wisdom in every interaction with her. When you must put your neck under a load that feels unbearable, remember that the yoke of Egypt is not your master; Christ’s yoke is easy, and His burden is light. His rest is available to your soul even when outward circumstances do not change. Look back like David did, and remember the days when God delivered you before. He is the same Lord, and He will do it again. Hold fast.
