Good and Faithful Servant
My mother is a professing Christian but is SEVERELY demonized (I'm not being superstitious in saying this; there are multiple factors that caused this and other people have noted that there is something spiritually wrong with her). Because she is this way, it's extremely easy for the enemy to use her to cause harm to others even unknowingly. Because of this, sometimes being around her is like having an actual demon following you around openly tormenting you because of the things she says and does. I am currently going through a lot right now and I'm finding interacting with her to be very difficult because it's just adding to what I'm dealing with. Please pray for me about this. Thank you.

We hear your deep distress and stand with you in this spiritual battle, knowing that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). The pain you describe is real, and the enemy seeks to use division and torment to weaken your faith and your family. But we declare that Jesus Christ has already disarmed these powers and authorities, triumphing over them by the cross (Colossians 2:15).

First, we must address the spiritual oppression your mother is experiencing. The enemy has no authority where Christ reigns, and we rebuke every demonic influence in her life in the mighty name of Jesus. We pray that the Holy Spirit would break every chain, expose every lie, and bring her into full freedom. "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim release to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed" (Luke 4:18). We pray for her healing, her deliverance, and her restoration to the fullness of Christ.

For you, dear one, we pray protection over your mind, heart, and spirit. The enemy seeks to wear you down, but we declare that you are more than a conqueror through Christ who loves you (Romans 8:37). We pray that God would give you wisdom in how to interact with your mother, whether that means setting boundaries, speaking truth in love, or even periods of separation for your own spiritual well-being. "Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it" (Proverbs 4:23). You are not responsible for her spiritual condition, but you are responsible for your own walk with the Lord.

We also pray for supernatural peace to guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). The torment you feel is not from God, and we command it to cease in Jesus’ name. We ask the Lord to surround you with His presence, to fill you with His joy, and to remind you of His promises. "The Lord is near to all those who call on him, to all who call on him in truth" (Psalm 145:18). You are not alone in this.

If your mother is open to it, we encourage you to gently share the truth of the Gospel with her, not in accusation, but in love. Sometimes, those who profess Christ are still bound by deception, and only the light of God’s Word can set them free. "You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free" (John 8:32). Pray for her to have a fresh encounter with the Holy Spirit, that she would be filled with His power and walk in victory.

Lastly, we pray for godly community around you, believers who can stand with you in prayer, offer encouragement, and speak life into your situation. The enemy thrives in isolation, but God moves in the fellowship of the saints. "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up" (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10).

Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, our Deliverer and Strong Tower. We lift up this dear one and their mother to You. Lord, we ask that You would break every chain of darkness in this family. Release Your healing power, Your peace, and Your truth. Protect this one from the enemy’s schemes and fill them with Your presence. Give them wisdom, strength, and discernment in every interaction. We declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Restore what has been broken, heal what has been wounded, and bring glory to Your name through this situation. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We hear the deep weariness in what you're sharing, and we don't take it lightly. Carrying your own heavy burdens while feeling spiritually worn down by interactions with your mother sounds exhausting and genuinely painful. When someone we love, someone who shares our faith in name, becomes a source of constant spiritual disruption, it can feel like you're trying to stay afloat while someone keeps pulling you under.

There's wisdom in your observation that something is deeply wrong, and you're not alone in seeing it. But we also want to gently remind you that fixating on the "what" of her condition can sometimes drain energy you need for your own well-being right now. You mentioned you're going through a lot yourself, and that's where we'd encourage you to anchor. Even in physically hazardous situations, flight attendants tell us to put on our own oxygen mask first. Right now, creating some loving but firm boundaries, perhaps limiting the length or frequency of visits, or gently stepping away from conversations that quickly turn toxic, is not unloving. It's wisdom. You can honor her as your mother while protecting the spiritual and emotional health God has entrusted to you.

We're praying for a covering of peace over you when you're with her, and for clarity in discerning what's yours to carry and what you need to release to God's hands.

Lord Jesus, you see this person's exhaustion and the spiritual weight they carry. Grant them wisdom for when to stay and when to step back. Surround them with your peace that passes understanding, and shield their heart and mind when words meant to wound come their way. Bring trustworthy people alongside them who will pray with them and help bear these burdens. In your name, Amen.

A great trial is upon you, and it is no light thing when the nearest of earthly relations becomes a vessel for the adversary. You do well to seek prayer, for the conflict is not with flesh and blood. That your mother is a professing Christian makes the darkness more terrible; a soul may speak of light and yet walk in blackest night. But mark this: the Spirit of the Lord is the One who quickens. The letter alone is dead; it is the spirit that gives life. What your mother needs is not mere profession but a spiritual resurrection, a thorough restoration of the entire spiritual constitution. We must plead that Christ, who delivered the young man to his mother, would in mercy deliver this mother wholly to Himself, and then restore her to you in true spiritual fellowship.

For yourself, you are called to endure as seeing Him who is invisible. The promise is comprehensive: strength for the whole spiritual man. When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him. You speak of torment added to your burden, yet here is your comfort: Christ has made peace through the blood of His cross. When sin is put away, God has no cause of warfare against His child; a substantial peace is established. You must run with endurance the race set before you, looking unto Jesus. Do not look at the waves, nor at the demonic shadow cast by a troubled soul, but at Him who is sweeter than the honeycomb. The world may loathe Him, but to the hungry soul He is life.

I urge you to be much in spiritual gleaning. Stoop low to gather the promises; let no good thought drop from your heart as soon as the sermon is over. Feed upon Election, upon Redemption, upon Effectual Calling, these are great sheaves of corn. And know this: the flesh profits nothing. No act of your flesh, no fretting of your natural mind, can assist in this spiritual work. You must in spirit receive the flesh and blood of Christ, holding communion with Him who alone quickens. Should your mother's words pierce you, remember the spiritual transformation God can work. He can turn the thorn into a fir tree. Today, it may be, she is a trial; but God is able to make her a comfort yet. Meanwhile, your standing is not in her condition but in your liberty in Christ. You are a citizen of the Jerusalem which is above; that freedom can never be taken. Walk in it, and do not sink into carnal ease, lest there be shame.

There is much unsound spiritual trading in the church, professors with a name to live but who are dead. We tremble lest any should build a Babel tower of profession that ends in ruin. For your mother, we must cry that Christ would bid her, "Come forth!" as from the tomb, before the corruption grows more terrible. For you, see to it that you are a spiritual man, taught by the Spirit, receiving the deep things of God. Lay hold of the truth that you are delivered from the power of darkness. The natural man cannot receive the things of the Spirit, but you, being quickened, can discern them. Set your face like a flint to abide in the spiritual realm, not cast down by the natural chaos around you. May the God of peace, who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good that you may do His will, working in you that which is pleasing in His sight. The battle is the Lord’s. Look steadily to Him, and He will carry you through.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You are not wrong to perceive a spiritual assault, for the enemy delights to use even those near to us as instruments of torment when they wander from soundness of mind. Yet remember, such a one is not altogether like a demoniac whom we pity; if she has brought this upon herself by willful sin, her madness is self-chosen, and we must be cautious not to let her defilement become our own. Do not flee from her as though she could truly harm your soul, for the devil has no strength over you unless you yield. But neither partake of her table, nor let her words find a lodging place in your heart. Stand apart from her wickedness while yet praying for her deliverance.

Above all, do not isolate yourself. When Christ was led into the wilderness, the devil assailed Him most fiercely because He was alone. So it is with us: when we are solitary, we are an easy prey. Flock together with the faithful continually; let their presence be a wall of defense around you. In the assembly of the saints, you will find strength to bear this cross. For God’s grace is sufficient for you, and His power is made perfect in weakness. Even Paul despaired of life under his trials, yet he learned to trust in the God who raises the dead. So cast this burden upon Him.

Your mother’s soul is like hardened ground that needs many sowings. Do not grow weary in prayer and carefulness, though the thorns seem countless and the storms threaten. A Godly mind is cultivated by constant heed to the Law and persistent supplication. The Lord permitted these afflictions that your faith might grow strong, and that you might be a vessel to bear His name with honor. Be of good cheer: He who called you will enable you to endure.

What you are describing is not merely emotional strain or family friction. It is a genuine spiritual conflict, and you are wise to recognize the source of the attack. The enemy often works through the closest natural bonds to wear down the people of God. When you feel that oppressive heaviness simply from being in her presence, you are experiencing the flak of a battle that rages in unseen realms. Do not dismiss that sense. The real war is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of darkness, and many times we find ourselves caught in the crossfire. Acknowledging this is the first step toward standing firm rather than being swept away by the torrent of words and actions that come against you.

Yet even in this recognition, you must guard your heart against responding in the flesh. When her words cut deep and the spiritual atmosphere becomes suffocating, the temptation is to react with anger, despair, or sheer self-preservation. But fighting a spiritual enemy with carnal weapons never wins the battle; it only exhausts the soldier. The weapons God has given you are mighty through Him for pulling down strongholds. Prayer is the primary weapon. It is a spiritual force that can penetrate the blinding work Satan has done in her mind. Before you engage with her, pray. After you engage with her, pray. Ask God to open her eyes to the truth and to silence the voices that hold her captive. Fasting in some form, even a denial of small comforts, can sharpen your spiritual sensitivity and strengthen your inner man for this struggle.

There is also a profound truth about the family of God that you can lean into right now. Jesus Himself, when told His mother and brothers were waiting, looked around at those who sat near Him and said, “Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?” He then declared that whoever does the will of God is His brother, sister, and mother. This was not a rejection of natural family, but a revelation of an even deeper bond. The ties we have in the Spirit with those who follow Christ are deeper than blood. When your own family becomes a channel for spiritual harm, the body of Christ is meant to surround you as that closer family. This is the time to draw near to mature believers, to let older women in the faith function as mothers in the Lord, and to let peers stand with you as spiritual brothers and sisters. Do not isolate yourself. Let that holy family cover you in prayer and offer the practical support that your soul needs.

This does not cancel the command to honor your mother. That commandment stands, and it comes with a promise. But honoring her in this context may mean setting firm, healthy boundaries. It may mean limiting exposure while you are in a vulnerable season, not out of hatred, but out of wisdom and a determination not to give the enemy a foothold. You can honor her from a place of prayer, asking God to protect you and to bring deliverance to her, even while you keep physical or emotional distance for a time. Your responsibility to care for yourself spiritually is not a denial of the faith; it is stewardship of your own walk with God, which is far too precious to let be torn apart by a battle you were never meant to fight alone.

Let us go directly to the Lord now.

Father, You see the deep spiritual affliction upon this mother, and You see how the enemy uses her to bring torment to her own child. We come against that work of darkness in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We pray, open her eyes, release her from the captivity that blinds her mind, and shatter every stronghold that seeks to destroy her and those around her. Cover Your child with the blood of Jesus. Grant a shield of faith to quench every fiery dart of accusation, fear, and weariness that flies in this season. Supply wisdom for every interaction, and raise up the family of God to stand in the gap with tangible love and support. May there be a spiritual reprieve, a strengthening of the inner man, and a deep, satisfying drink of Your presence that no earthly trouble can take away. We declare that the forces of evil have no ultimate authority here, for greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world. Amen.

We are so grateful you entrusted this heavy burden to us, and we want you to know we have been lifting your mother before the throne day after day. We asked the Lord to break every chain of spiritual oppression that has wrapped itself around her, to silence every lying voice the enemy uses through her, and to surround her with angels so that no further harm can flow from her words or actions. We also prayed for you—that the Holy Spirit would give you supernatural strength to endure, wisdom to know when to speak and when to withdraw, and an unshakable peace that surpasses what your circumstances can explain.

If the atmosphere in your home has already shifted—if you have noticed moments of clarity, kindness, or stillness where there once was turmoil—we would love to hear about it so we can rejoice together. If, on the other hand, the battle still feels as fierce as ever, we invite you to post this request again; we are eager to keep standing beside you, pressing in until every stronghold is demolished.

May the God of all comfort continue to draw near to you, shielding your heart and renewing your spirit each day as you walk this difficult path. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus.
