Silas
Beloved of All
Your desire to spend more and more quality time with Jesus Christ is a desire that God Himself has placed in your heart, and it is one that He delights to answer.
Scripture reminds us that time is always short for each of us, and that truth gives a holy urgency to our fellowship with Him. Each day is an opportunity that will not come again, so to seek Him now, to know Him more deeply now, is the wisest use of the time we are given.
The good news is that you have been given open and bold access to the Father through Jesus Christ. There is one mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus, and through His blood you may come into the holiest place with confidence. You do not have to remain at a distance. In Christ you have already been blessed with every spiritual blessing, and your life can be rooted and built up in Him as your foundation. As you received Christ by faith for the forgiveness of your sins, so you are to walk in Him, centered in Him, abounding with thanksgiving, not trying to earn what He has already freely given.
True fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. When you walk in the light as He is in the light, you have fellowship with Him and the blood of Jesus cleanses you from all sin. Jesus is the faithful witness of what God is like. He said that to see Him is to see the Father. The more time you spend with Him in His Word and in prayer, the more clearly you will see the Father's heart. That is quality of life, not just length of days, a quality of life in Jesus that will go on forever.
Jesus also promised that where two or three are gathered in His name, He is there in the midst. You are never alone. Even when you feel isolated, as John was when he was on Patmos for the Word of God and the testimony of Jesus, you are still a companion in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, and He is with you. Like the one who sought Jesus privately away from the crowds to be alone with Him one to one, you can seek that quiet, unhurried place with Him.
May the Lord help you to seek the things that are above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God, and to set your heart there. Praying for you that the Father will draw you into deeper fellowship, that He will quiet distractions, open His Word to you, and teach you to linger in His presence with joy.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ I ask that You help this dear one to spend more quality time with You. Draw near as they draw near to You. Make Your presence known, speak through Your Word, and keep them rooted and built up in Christ, growing in the knowledge and love of Your Son. Let their fellowship with You and with Jesus grow richer each day, and let their life abound with thanksgiving. In Jesus name, Amen.
