more quality time with Jesus Christ

###, we join with you in this beautiful and holy desire and we rejoice that your heart longs to spend more and more quality time with our Lord Jesus Christ, for this is the very purpose for which we were created.

The psalmist expressed this same longing when he said, One thing I have asked of Yahweh, that I will seek after: that I may dwell in Yahweh's house all the days of my life, to see Yahweh's beauty, and to inquire in his temple. Psalm 27:4. We are encouraged to know that as we draw near to God, he will draw near to us. James 4:8. This Savior Himself invites us into this abiding fellowship, for I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. John 15:5.

We know the distractions and busyness of this world constantly pull at our time and attention, but the Father encourages us to seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to us as well. Matthew 6:33. Spending quality time with Jesus is not merely a duty but a delight, sitting at His feet through prayer, through reading and meditating on His Word, and through quiet worship and listening for His voice.

We pray together for you now.

Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne in the precious and powerful Name of Jesus Christ, and we thank You for the hunger You have placed in this dear heart to be closer to You. Lord, we ask that You help our brother or sister to redeem the time and to make abiding with You the first priority of each day. Give wisdom to set aside undistracted time, strength to rise early or to steal away in quietness, and grace to turn the heart quickly to You throughout the day. Open the Scriptures with fresh understanding, make prayer a joyful conversation rather than a burden, and let Your Holy Spirit teach how to be still and know that You are God. Remove every hindrance, every worldly care and distraction that would steal this fellowship, and fill this time with Your presence, Your peace, and Your transforming power. We ask all this in the Name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.

We're so grateful you shared this longing to spend more quality time with Jesus. That desire itself is a gift, and we want to stand with you in it.

We know how easy it is for days to fill up and for time with the Lord to get squeezed to the edges. What has helped many of us is not trying to add hours at once, but choosing a small, protected space we can return to each day. Intimacy grows as we keep showing up honestly, not perfectly.

One simple way to begin this week might be to pick one consistent window, even ten or fifteen minutes, in the same place if you can, with your Bible open and your phone set aside. Read a short portion slowly, pause to turn it into prayer in your own words, and sit quietly for a moment to listen. If you miss a day, just begin again the next without guilt.

We are praying for you to know His nearness as you seek Him.

Father, thank You for drawing our friend to want more of You. Help them find unhurried moments with Jesus each day, quiet their heart before You, and deepen their joy in Your presence. Lead them by Your Spirit and keep them close to Your Son. In Jesus' name, amen.

This is a holy and blessed desire which the Spirit of God Himself must have kindled within you, and it is a desire which the Lord delights to fulfill. Our Savior still says to His people as He said to those weary fishermen by the sea, Come and break your fast. He is thoughtful of your wants and He spreads a table before you. He knows that many a battle is lost because the soldiers are not in good condition for the fight, and you need stamina if you are to do hard and long work for Him. To sit at His table, to feed upon His word, to have real contact with His blessed Person and not merely an outward and mechanical religion, this is the strength and the sweetness of the Christian life.

I fear that the most of us are so little in retirement, so seldom in communion with God in private and even when there for so short a time, that we remain as dwarfs and never attain to the stature of a perfect man in Christ Jesus. But oh, what holy affections, what blessed excitements those have who are much alone with Christ. Such a soul never has a cold heart or a slack hand who is much in meditation with his Lord Jesus. If your memory is weak or your days are full, that is the more reason why you should be longer and more often with your God in secret. Do not neglect this duty. Come to Him as you did at the first, as a sinner needing His grace, and come with your hard questions, your burdens and your doubts. There is no question too hard for Him to answer, no burden too heavy for Him to bear.

Hold this world with a loose hand and test your hope every day, and seek not to live without Him. Deep waters are still, and the nearest fellowship with Christ is often that quiet musing of the soul upon His love, His atonement, His glory which He had with the Father before the world was.

Let us pray together for you.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for putting into this heart a hunger to be more with Your Son. Forgive us for the times we have preferred business or amusement or any poor trifle to fellowship with Jesus, and for living without the bread which alone can sustain us. By Your Holy Spirit draw Your child into more and more quality time with You. Give grace to seek a quiet place, to open the Holy Book with believing confidence, to pour out the heart in prayer and to sit still before the Lord to hear His voice. Let there be not only outward hearing but inward touching of Christ, a stream of life and love flowing from Him. Make meditation sweet, prayer fervent, and praise daily. Keep this dear one from the hardness of heart that would turn from You, and cause love for Jesus to burn with more intense affection day by day. We ask this in the Name of Jesus Christ, our only Savior and our gracious Host, who invites us to come and dine. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your desire to spend more quality time with our Lord Jesus Christ is good and pleasing to God, and we gladly join you in prayer for this.

The Father delights when His children seek Him, and He draws near to those who draw near to Him through His Son. To have fellowship with Jesus Christ is the very life of the soul, for we are called into fellowship with Him and sanctified in Him.

We pray that the Heavenly Father will increase your hunger for His presence and help you to set apart time each day to be with Him. May He give you grace to deck the house of your heart with prayer, with supplication, with reading of Scripture, and with quiet watchfulness before Him, so that Christ may dwell richly there. May He guard you from distraction and sloth, and teach you to use your time wisely, storing up treasure in heaven and gathering oil in abundance for the days to come.

Do not be discouraged if this takes effort and discipline. The Christian life is a contest that requires perseverance, and time with the Lord is not found by accident but by choosing Him above other comforts. Set a fixed time, keep it faithfully, bring your Bible, pray in the name of Jesus Christ who is our Mediator, and remain there even when your heart feels cold. The Lord will honor that faithfulness.

So we pray: Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, grant our brother and sister a deeper love for Your presence. Help them to seek You daily, to hear Your voice in Your Word, to speak with You in prayer, and to walk closely with You in all things. Fill their time with You with peace and joy, and make them steadfast to the end, through the grace and loving kindness of our Lord Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever. Amen.
