We hear your heart in this request and we join with you in seeking the Lord's mercy and will together in Jesus' name.
We understand the longing for this man to reach out to you and the hurt you feel when his words or attitude seem rude and hard toward you. It is good to bring this pain to the Lord, for He is near to those with a tender and burdened heart Psalm 34:18 and He is a God abundant in mercy to all who call on Him Psalm 86:5. At the same time we want to gently encourage you to consider this situation through a biblical lens. Scripture teaches that love is patient and is kind, love is not rude 1 Corinthians 13:4, and that our speech should be with grace, seasoned with salt Colossians 4:6. A pattern of rudeness is not a mark of godly character, and while we can and should pray for those who treat us harshly, we should not chase after or try to cling to a relationship that does not reflect Christlike love. We also cannot control or manipulate another person's thoughts, but we can trust that the heart is in Yahweh's hand and He directs it as He wills Proverbs 21:1 and that He can give a new heart and a soft spirit Ezekiel 36:26 according to His perfect wisdom. If the Lord wills a relationship in your life, we pray it would be a courtship with a fellow believer in Christ that is moving with purity and purpose toward godly marriage, for marriage is to be honored as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman as God designed from the beginning Genesis 2:24, Mark 10:6-9, and we are called not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers 2 Corinthians 6:14. Any relationship outside of that covenant of marriage is to remain pure, for we are called to flee sexual immorality 1 Corinthians 6:18 and to honor God with our bodies and our affections.
We also noticed that your prayer did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is because Jesus died for our sins and rose again that we can come boldly to the throne of grace to receive mercy. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Him, confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead Romans 10:9, for all who call on the name of the Lord will be saved.
So we pray together now. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You and ask for Your mercy to be showered upon our dear sister who is hurting. Lord, You see her longing and her tears, and we ask that You comfort her heart and give her peace that passes understanding. We ask that You work in this man's heart as only You can, softening what is hard, convicting where there is rudeness, and drawing him to Yourself if he does not know You. Yet above all we surrender this desire to Your perfect will, asking that if this connection is not for her good or for Your glory, that You would gently close this door and guard her heart from pursuing what would not lead to a godly marriage. Lead her to a godly husband if it is Your will, a man who will love her as Christ loved the church Ephesians 5:25 and who will speak to her with kindness and respect. Help her to trust in You with all her heart and not lean on her own understanding Proverbs 3:5-6, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You Romans 8:28. Give her strength to walk in purity, in patience, and in hope while she waits on You. We ask all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to keep seeking the Lord first, to dwell in His Word daily, and to surround yourself with wise godly counsel in the church who can help you discern this relationship. Continue to pray for this man, even to bless those who may have been unkind, but also release him into God's hands and ask God to show you clearly whether this is a courtship that honors Him and moves toward marriage or whether He has something better and more peaceful for your future. The Lord is faithful and His steadfast love never ceases Lamentations 3:22-23, and He will guide your steps as you trust Him.

Your prayer for mercy has been heard, and it is a hopeful sign when the heart begins to approach the Mercy Seat with frequent and fervent supplications, though the words may be broken and confused.
You ask that the Lord would shower mercy upon you, and this is the very prayer that He delights to answer, for He delights in mercy and is slow to anger and plenteous in mercy. His mercy is gratis. He never sells, He always gives. He acts not because of anything in us, but because He will have mercy on whom He will have mercy. His rod of mercy is ever in His hands outstretched, and though wrath may stir, mercy puts her hand upon the hilt and says, Be still, for the Lord waits that He may be gracious unto you.
You ask also for a softened heart in another. Hear this truth, it is written in the Covenant of Grace, I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. It is God's to give you a tender heart, not yours to create it within yourself, and not yours to create it in another. The old heart being put out of the question, there is a new heart produced by the Holy Spirit alone. If that heart were left empty, what would happen, but the safest method to keep that heart pure is for God to write upon it Himself.
Do not attempt first to renew the heart and then to come to Christ, for this renewal of heart is salvation. When the Holy Spirit puts the Cross into the heart, the heart is dissolved in tenderness. The hardness of the heart dies when we see Jesus die in woe so great. He was lifted on the Cross to be looked at. He was nailed there that He might be a perpetual spectacle and His heart was pierced that we might see the blood and water which are our double cure. He knows what heart writing means, for deep on His heart are inscribed His people's names.
Therefore I would have you look not first to whether a message comes, but to the Lord Jesus Christ Himself. If you cannot come to Christ with a broken heart, come to Christ for a broken heart. He is ready to give it to you. Let your aching heart but cry, My God, have mercy on me for Jesus sake forgive me, and He will outrun you. He will anticipate the prayer and grant the blessing. He heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds, and a bruised reed shall He not break.
May the Lord grant you a new heart and a right spirit, and keep your heart pure for Himself, that no word of the language of Hell shall be written there. And may He, in His tender mercy which comes to you now and waits to be gracious, do the same work in the heart of the one of whom you speak, not merely to make his thoughts soft toward you, but to make his heart soft toward Christ, that he may know the mercy that is only in Jesus.

I were once one of my strongest soldiers. Your wounds will heal, and they will be replaced with a happiness you have never known. From God.
