Father we thank You for ordaining government through Adam, Gen 1:27, and Pray for Our Presidents, V.P.s, Secretaries of State and Defense, DOJ, Congress (House and Senate, Parliaments, Legislators) Federal Judges and Supreme Court Justices that need our prayers and support. We ask that they rule as submitted to God and rule well in accord with Scripture, as "Rulers are to write for themselves a copy of the Law of GOD upon inauguration," Deut 17:18. Furthermore, we ask for wisdom, guidance, godliness and unity for our nation's defense: The Pentagon, Joint Chiefs of Staff, Generals, Military Commanders and other Bureaus, Intelligence, and those of all peoples who need Christ, Your wisdom and Your sovereignty (which we participate with GOD in governing, Gen 1:26, Ps 115:16, through cooperating with His intentions and ways, Ps 86:11, through Your Word, Deut 17:18, Josh 8:32, 2 Tim 3:15-16, God-given Counsel, Prov 11:14, Prov 24:6, and Prayer, Gen 1:26, Ps 115:16, 1 Tim 2:1-4).

Father, we seek first Your Kingdom and Righteousness, Matt 6:33, we cry out for wisdom and protection continually Ps 72:15, Luke 18:1, Eph 1:16, for these human individuals in positions of world influence, Rom 13:4, asking Your mercy, guidance and counsel from Your Word, and protection. Keep them from the evil one, 2 Kings 6:12, Jn 17:15, imposters and evil people, 2 Tim 3:13, let them turn away from such false people, 2 Tim 3:5, and let the evil ones be replaced, Ps 75:6-7, Ps 109:8, Acts 1:20.

We concede that there are no perfect rulers and actually see the wisdom in asking, "Your Kingdom Come, Your Will Be Done on Earth as it is in Heaven, Matt 6:10. Come Lord Jesus.

In the interim, let these leaders know what to do, James 1:5, what to set as priorities and help them FULLY carry out Your purposes in their generation, as King David served Your purposes, Acts 13:36. Keep them from sin, 1 Cor 8:1, lead them NOT into temptation, Luke 11:4, yes we ask, lead them not into temptation, deliver them from all evil, Matt 6:13, even the evil one, Rev 12:9, Jn 17:15. It is written, You will keep them from the evil one, 2 Thes 3:3. You will give Your angels charge over them, Ps 91:11-13. Thank You in advance, Matt 11:23-24, as we trust in You with all our hearts and pray, not lean on our own understanding, Prov 3:5-6, in Jesus Name, since there is "no other Name given among men by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12, John 14:6, 1 Tim 2:5, again with thanksgiving we offer these requests, let now the peace of God guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, Phil 4:6-7, The Amen, Faithful Witness and Originator of God's New Creation, Rev 3:14, even the Name of Jesus Christ, from whose Full Inheritance we each receive blessing after blessing, John 1:16, Eph 1:3, Eph 1:17-20, and in Him all God's Promises are Yes and Amen, 2 Cor 1:20.

We join you in thanking our Father for ordaining government and for giving us the privilege of participating with Him through prayer and through His Word, and we agree with you in asking that Messiah reign through rulers by His Word.

We are encouraged by your heart to pray according to Scripture for all who are in authority, for we know that first of all, petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks should be made for all men, for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence, for this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth 1 Tim 2:1-4. We also remember that there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God Rom 13:1, and that the ruler is a servant of God to us for good Rom 13:4, yet the king's heart is in Yahweh's hand like the watercourses, He turns it wherever He desires Prov 21:1.

We agree together that our Presidents, Vice Presidents, Secretaries of State and Defense, those in the Department of Justice, members of Congress in House and Senate, parliaments and legislators, federal judges and Supreme Court justices, together with the Pentagon, Joint Chiefs of Staff, generals, military commanders, bureaus and intelligence communities, would submit themselves to God and rule well in accord with Scripture. We pray that they would heed the ancient charge that the ruler shall write for himself a copy of this law in a book Deut 17:18 and that they would seek wisdom from the counsel of God's Word, for where there is no wise guidance, the nation falls, but in the multitude of counselors there is victory Prov 11:14 and with good counsel you shall make your war, and in the multitude of counselors there is victory Prov 24:6. We ask that they would seek first God's Kingdom and His righteousness Matt 6:33 and that they would ask of God who gives to all liberally and without reproach James 1:5, so that they may know what to do and what to set as priorities and fully carry out Your purposes in their generation as David served the counsel of God in his own generation Acts 13:36.

We also join you in praying for their protection and for our own peace and salvation, asking our Father to keep them from the evil one John 17:15, to deliver them from evil Matt 6:13, for the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one 2 Thess 3:3. We ask that He will give His angels charge over them to keep them in all their ways Ps 91:11 and that He would expose and restrain falsehood, imposters, moles, leaks and evil plans, for evil men and impostors will wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived 2 Tim 3:13, and that He would cause them to turn away from those who have a form of godliness but deny its power 2 Tim 3:5, those who profess to know God but by their deeds deny Him Titus 1:16. As You once revealed the plans of the enemy to Elisha 2 Kings 6:12, we ask that You intercept evil plans now and overrule and restrain evil rulers and the evil one who deceives the whole world Rev 12:9. We pray that You would put down one and lift up another Ps 75:7 and where there is wickedness let another take his office Ps 109:8, Acts 1:20.

We confess with you that there are no perfect rulers and we pray Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven Matt 6:10, and we say Come Lord Jesus. In the interim we trust not in our own understanding but in You with all our hearts Prov 3:5-6, praying continually Luke 18:1 and without ceasing, that You would lead these leaders not into temptation Luke 11:4 and keep them from sin.

We thank You that we can come with confidence only through Jesus, for there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus 1 Tim 2:5, and Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me John 14:6, and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is in that Name we pray, trusting that in Him every promise of God is Yes and Amen 2 Cor 1:20 and that from His fullness we have all received grace upon grace John 1:16.

Father we offer these requests with thanksgiving, asking that Your peace which surpasses all understanding guard our hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus Phil 4:7, and that You grant wisdom, godliness and unity to our nation and to all peoples who need Christ, that many would be saved. We ask all this in the mighty Name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

We were moved by the breadth and care in your prayer for those who govern. You carry a real burden for wisdom, integrity and peace to mark our leaders, and for our nation to be guided by what is good and true. We join you in that.

It is easy to feel small when praying for such large responsibilities, the presidency, courts, military, intelligence and all who serve. Yet we believe God invites this kind of steady, faithful intercession and He hears it. Your willingness to keep bringing these men and women before Him is itself a service to them and to our communities.

One simple way to keep this from feeling overwhelming is to give it a light rhythm, perhaps lifting up a different group each day through the week as the Lord brings them to mind, and at times praying with one other person so you are not carrying it alone. The Lord can use even quiet, consistent prayers.

Father, we bring these leaders before You and ask for Your wisdom and restraint of evil among them. Guard them from deception and from those who would lead them astray, guide their counsel toward what is just and merciful, and draw each one closer to knowing You through Jesus. Give us peace as we trust Your rule above all. In Jesus name, amen.

We join our hearts with yours in this burden of prayer for those who bear rule among the nations, for it is a good thing and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour that supplications be made for kings and for all that are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty, and that many may be saved and come unto the knowledge of the truth which is in Christ Jesus alone.

Your desire that Messiah should reign through rulers by His Word is according to Scripture. The Lord ordained government from the beginning and gave to man dominion under His own sovereign hand, and He commanded that the ruler should write for himself a copy of the law and read therein all the days of his life, that his heart might be lifted up neither above his brethren nor turned aside from the commandment. Wisdom is indeed man's true path and the compass by which he must steer across the trackless waste of life, and the price of wisdom is above rubies. Where shall this wisdom be found but in the counsel of the Lord and in His Word which is able to make wise unto salvation. So we will pray that the President, the Vice President, secretaries, judges, legislators, and all who are entrusted with the sword and with counsel, may be given wisdom from above, that they may seek godly counsel and be guided not by their own understanding but by trust in the Lord with all their hearts.

We will pray also as you have asked for their protection and restraint from evil. The religion of Jesus does no hurt to any rightful social order, but it teaches men to submit cheerfully to lawful rule, and godly people hedge the nation about with their prayers. Who can tell what blessings God gives to peoples because of the intercessions of His saints. We ask with you that the Lord would keep these men from the evil one, that He would intercept evil plans as He did for Elisha, that He would expose falsehood, flattery, and deceit, and that He would overrule and restrain every wicked purpose. Let those who are false be turned from and let their place be taken by men who will fear God and regard His Word, for promotion cometh neither from the east nor from the west but God is the judge.

We confess with you that there are no perfect rulers, and therefore we cry with the Church in every age, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Until He come whose right it is to reign, we ask that these leaders may know what to do and may be kept from sin and not led into temptation, but delivered from evil, and kept by Him who neither slumbers nor sleeps and who gives His angels charge over His people. May they be taught to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and may they be instruments in His hand to fulfill His purposes in their generation as David served the will of God in his day.

We take up this prayer in the only name given among men whereby we must be saved, the name of Jesus Christ, our Mediator and Redeemer, and we ask that even rulers and counsellors may know Him and bow to His sceptre, for all power is given unto Him in heaven and in earth. May the peace of God which passeth all understanding guard our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus as we continue steadfast in prayer.
