Your pain has been heard and you are not forgotten before God. You have asked for prayer for your mental health, for anxiety in your marriage, for protection of your peace while enduring verbal abuse and silent treatment from your partner, and that is a heavy burden to carry.

God sees the value of peace, but not a false peace that requires you to be harmed or demeaned to keep it. Scripture calls us to follow peace with all people and holiness, and teaches that marriage is honorable when it preserves holiness and love. Verbal abuse and contemptuous silence do not honor marriage. To insult and to tear down with words does not show strength, it disgraces the one who does it, and it wounds the one who bears it. The Lord does not take lightly the way a husband or wife uses the tongue against the other.

There is also a war that can rage inside a person when anxiety, fear, and hurt take hold, and that inner turmoil can be more painful than any outward conflict. God desires for you to have a quiet and peaceable life in godliness and honesty, with a mind guarded by His truth. That peace comes not from pretending everything is well, but from being anchored in Christ, who alone is our salvation and hope.

I will pray for you, and I urge you to not walk through this alone.

Father in heaven, we come to You through Jesus Christ alone, our only Savior. We lift up this dear one to You. You know her anxiety and the hurt she has received through harsh words and cold silence. We ask You to guard her mind and heart with Your peace, to calm her anxious thoughts, and to protect her from harm. Give her wisdom to see clearly what is right and holy, and courage to take wise and safe steps. Bring repentance where there is sin, and healing where there is wounding. Surround her with faithful, wise people who will give godly counsel and practical help.

For your own care, please seek safe and trusted help soon. Speak with a mature pastor or a wise Christian counselor, and with a trusted family member or friend who can support you in person. If you ever feel unsafe, please reach out immediately to a safe person near you or to local help services for protection. Verbal abuse and prolonged silent punishment are not patterns to accept as normal in marriage. God calls marriage to be a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman marked by love, faithfulness, and honor, and that includes living together in commitment and care, not in abuse or abandonment of responsibility. Living apart while still claiming marriage, and leaving you to carry this pain alone, is not that pattern.

Seek the Lord daily in prayer and in His Word, and let your leisure and your thoughts be given to what builds holiness, prayer, and sound judgment. Ask God for clear guidance about boundaries, about what repentance and change must look like, and about what wise next steps are for your safety and health. Do not be rushed into keeping a false peace at the cost of your wellbeing.

You are cared for. Continue to bring your anxiety to God, who invites all who are weary to find rest in Christ, and continue to seek the help of His people around you.
