Beloved of All
My family is out of town. Where we are now, hope we get enough food. My mum ### is applying for jobs, despite having more than one; one job she had an interview with recently with ###; she passed interview but hope she doesn’t pass trial classes, as app ### is a nightmare. With a different job she might still have ### hope they don’t come back, as they use ### and the time it’s at; nightmare. With most of the other jobs she has hope some students come back, hope she passes her trial class(es) with ###, so I am not forced into a trial class; she wants to keep her super tutor stat. The problem with my mum is she applies for jobs she might need my help with; even some things I can’t figure out. With packing to go home, hope my mum leaves enough things behind as where we are at now, it is hard to get things. My dad ### is sick. My mum has arm pain, and mental health issues. Hope to get iced tea, before price goes up.

We join with you in bringing these burdens before our Heavenly Father and we lift up your family to Him in Jesus' name.

We hear your worry about provision while you are out of town, about food and supplies, about packing and leaving things behind, and about the many changes with your mother's work. We also hear your concern for your father who is sick and for your mother who is dealing with arm pain and mental health struggles. We want to encourage you to cast all of these cares on the Lord, for He cares for you. As it is written, Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7

We also want to gently address something in your request. You shared that you hope your mother does not pass some trial classes and that certain students do not come back because of difficult apps and schedules, while at the same time you hope she does pass other trials so you are not forced into helping. We understand the stress of being asked to help with things that are confusing and burdensome, and we understand the frustration with difficult platforms. Yet we are called to desire what is good and to seek God's will for our parents rather than wishing for their failure, even when we feel overwhelmed. We are called to honor our father and mother, which is the first commandment with a promise. Exodus 20:12, and to bear one another's burdens. Galatians 6:2. At the same time, God gives wisdom for healthy boundaries and honest communication. If the work your mother is taking on requires help beyond what you can give, it is loving and right to speak to her kindly and truthfully about your limits, and to pray together for wisdom. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. James 1:5. We encourage you to trust the Lord to guide your mother to the work that is truly best for her and for your family, and to trust Him rather than fearing the outcome of each interview or trial. Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6

We also notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to share lovingly that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God and that we are saved. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9. It is by His name we pray and find peace for our anxious hearts.

We pray together now.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We thank You that You see this family out of town and You know their needs for food, supplies, and daily provision. We ask You to provide for them as You promise, for You know we need these things, and You call us to seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness and all these things will be added to us. Matthew 6:33. Give them wisdom as they pack and decide what to leave and what to take, and provide what is hard to get where they are.

Lord, we lift up this mother to You. You know her desire to work and to keep her standing as a tutor, and You know the stress of interviews, trial classes, and difficult applications. Grant her wisdom to choose work that honors You and does not overwhelm her or her family. Guide her steps and open and close doors according to Your perfect will. We pray You would ease her arm pain and bring healing to her body, and that You would heal her mind and heart and grant her Your peace. You heal the broken in heart, and bind up their wounds. Psalm 147:3. We ask You to comfort her in her mental health struggles and to draw her close to You, for You have said, Fear not, for I am with you. Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10.

Father, we also lift up this father who is sick. We ask for Your healing hand upon him. We pray that You would restore his health and strength according to Your will. We remember Your word that the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. James 5:15.

Lord, we lift up the one who submitted this request. Calm their anxiety about food, work, prices, and daily needs, even small things like iced tea. Help them to cast all their worries on You, because You care for them. 1 Peter 5:7. Help them to honor their parents with love and truth, to communicate with grace about what help they can and cannot give, and to trust You with the outcome of each job and each trial class. Give this family unity, peace in their home, and faith to trust You day by day.

We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.

We hear how much is on you right now being away from home and carrying worries about food, packing, your mum's job search, and your dad being unwell. When so many small and big stresses pile up at once, it makes sense you would feel stretched thin and anxious about what comes next, especially when your mum is hoping you can help with trial classes that feel beyond what you can do.

One thing that can help when everything feels tangled is to sort what you can talk through together from what needs outside support. It might ease some pressure to have a calm, brief conversation with your mum about what help you are actually able to give with the tutoring apps and trial classes, and where you need a clear boundary. For the packing and food concerns, making a simple list together of what needs to stay and what needs to go home could make the choices feel a little more manageable while you are away.

We also noticed you mentioned your dad is sick and your mum has arm pain and struggles with her mental health. Alongside prayer, we encourage you to help them connect with a doctor or other trusted professional for care.

Father, we lift this family to You while they are away from home. Provide for their daily needs, bring healing and comfort to mum and dad, and give wisdom for decisions about work and packing. Guard this dear one with Your peace and guide each step ahead. In Jesus' name, amen.

You have laid before us a heap of cares, and it is plain that your heart is pressed down with many anxieties at once. There is the care for daily bread while you are from home, the care for your mother's labours and her trials, the care for your father's sickness and your mother's pain of body and distress of mind, and even the small care about a price to be paid for a drink. When many burdens meet together they make a heavy load, and you feel their weight.

Let me speak to you first of this fretfulness about temporal things. Our Lord says, do not be so affected by external things as to get into a state of worry, fretfulness, care, anxiety and distress. Be prudent, provide for honest needs, but do not be anxious about your temporal affairs. I have never discovered that anxiety has comforted anybody, or that it has brought any grist to the mill, or any meal to the barrel. If a thing does not pay, what is the good of it. The very anxiety which arises through your being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. Your heavenly Father knows you have need of food and raiment, and He who feeds the sparrows will not forget His children. To be careful about iced tea lest its price should rise is to let a little care steal away peace which God would have you keep. Cast that care also upon Him, and be content to leave prices and provisions in His hand.

Concerning your mother and her work, I hear two voices in your letter. In one place you hope she will not pass a trial, in another you hope she will pass, according as it may ease you of a trial class or keep a title she desires. Take heed that you do not violate the spirit of the text which says, Bear ye one another's burdens, by thrusting your own burden upon another or by wishing ill to another that your own load may be lighter. Every man shall bear his own burden, and yet we are to bear one another's burdens in love. Your mother applies for work which at times she cannot do without your help, and even beyond your skill. It is right to help her with a willing hand, but it is also right that each should bear what properly belongs to him. Speak plainly and kindly with her, that she undertake only what she can fulfil with honesty before God and man, and that you help as a son should, not grudgingly, but as unto the Lord. Do not pray that she may fail, nor that others may be kept away for your ease. Pray rather that the Lord, who orders all our steps, would give her that place which is best, whether it be with one company or another, and that He would keep her from vain ambition such as the keeping of a name or a rank, and give her work that is wholesome and sustainable. What is of God will stand, and what is not will fall, and it is better to be in the place God chooses than to hold a super tutor stat at the cost of peace.

Your father being sick and your mother suffering pain in her arm and heaviness of mind calls for great compassion. You cannot bear the burden of their sin for them, only Christ can do that, but you can help them to bear their burden by prayer and tender care. There is a burden of sin and a burden of the law which every man must bear for himself until he lays it upon Christ, and there is a burden of sorrow and infirmity which love helps to carry. Remember the gracious word, My yoke is easy and My burden is light. Christ does not say the yoke of life is easy, but His yoke is easy. When you come to Him and get rid of your old burden of sin, He puts upon you His burden, and you learn of Him and find rest unto your souls. Bring your father's sickness and your mother's pain and trouble of mind to the Lord Jesus. He can make the burden light or strengthen the shoulder to bear it. Be much in prayer for them, and let family prayer be maintained, for God has entered into covenant to bless the household that seeks Him.

As to your packing and your provision while you are away, use prudence. Leave not behind what is needful through haste, nor carry what will only encumber you. The Lord would have us be good stewards, not wasteful and not covetous. If it is hard to get things where you now are, act with forethought, and trust God for what you cannot foresee.

I will pray with you. O Lord our God, Thou knowest the wants of this family. Provide for them bread convenient for them, heal the father who is sick, ease the pain of the mother's arm and quiet her troubled mind, guide the mother to such honest labour as Thou wouldst have her do, and keep this dear one from anxious care. Teach them to bear one another's burdens and each to bear his own burden before Thee, and to take the yoke of Christ and find it easy. Give them faith to be free from fretfulness about many things, and to seek first Thy kingdom. In Jesus Christ, through whom alone is salvation, hear our prayer. Amen.

Go in the strength of God, and prove that when the heart is stayed upon Christ, the heavy burden becomes light.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer request has been brought before us and we have heard your concerns with care. You have shared many burdens at once, being away from home, needing enough food, the uncertainty around your mother's work, the difficulties of packing and travel, your father's sickness, your mother's pain in her arm and her struggles with mental health, and even the small daily matter of hoping to get iced tea before the price rises. God sees all of these things, both great and small, and He invites us to bring every anxiety before Him.

We pray for God's gracious provision for you and your family while you are out of town, that He would supply your daily food and all that you need for health, and that He would grant wisdom and peace as you prepare to pack and return home. We ask that He would give your mother wisdom in leaving behind what is not needed and keeping what is necessary, and that He would make your journey safe.

Concerning your mother's work, we understand the pressure you feel when she applies for jobs that may require your help, and the anxiety around trial classes, students returning, and keeping her standing as a tutor. Rather than asking that she would fail or that students would not return, we pray instead that God's will would be done and that He would open the door to the work that is best for your family, work that is manageable and does not place a burden on you beyond what you can bear. We ask that God would give her clarity, strength, and peace, and that He would provide the students and income that are truly needed, according to His wisdom. We also pray that you would be freed from fear about being forced into a trial class, and that God would give both you and your mother rest from this anxiety.

We lift up your father in his sickness and your mother in her arm pain and mental health struggles. We ask the Lord, who is our healer and comforter, to bring healing to your father's body, relief to your mother's pain, and peace to her mind. May He strengthen them both and surround your family with His mercy, and give you all the grace to care for one another without being weighed down by worry. Scripture reminds us not to make provision for the flesh to fulfill its lusts, but to care for the body for health and for the sake of serving God, and not to live for wantonness or excess. In the same way, we can trust God to provide what is necessary for health and life, whether food or drink, and to teach us contentment in all things.

We also pray that you would not become dull in hearing or slothful in seeking the Lord, but that you would remain earnest in faith, remembering that this present life is passing and that our true hope is in Christ who came in the fullness of time to rescue us when we were perishing. He came by grace to give us eternal life, so that we would not fear eternal punishment but would find refreshment and security in Him. In Christ we can be freed from anxiety, asking no question in fear, but trusting that what is not evil in itself can be received with thanksgiving when our intention is toward God.

Let us pray together. Heavenly Father, we thank You that salvation is through Jesus Christ alone and that You hear us when we call on His name. We ask You to provide daily bread for this family, to heal the father who is sick, to ease the mother's arm pain and to guard her mind with Your peace, to guide the mother's work and job applications according to Your perfect will, and to give this young person wisdom, strength, and peace in the midst of these pressures. Provide what is needed for their journey home and teach them to seek first Your kingdom and spiritual health above all else. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope. Amen.

We encourage you to continue to cast your cares on the Lord, to seek Him daily in prayer and in His Word, and to trust that He will care for your spiritual and physical needs as you walk with Him.

Thank you for sharing what is weighing on your heart. So many different cares have come together at once, concern for food while you are away from home, uncertainty about your mother's work and interviews and trial classes, the stress of packing and needing supplies, your father's sickness, your mother's pain in her arm and her struggle with mental health, and even the small daily worry about prices. It is understandable to feel stretched and anxious when burdens pile up like this.

Jesus gave a wonderful invitation to people who feel weary and overloaded. He said to come to Him, all who labor and are heavy laden, and He will give rest. He said His yoke is easy and His burden is light. That is very different from the heavy, crushing pressure we often put on ourselves. God does not lay a burden on you that is meant to break you or leave you unable to function or to care for your family. Much of what feels so heavy comes from trying to control outcomes, to please ourselves, or to carry responsibilities that God never asked us to carry alone. When we live to please Him and trust Him with the results, the burden becomes lighter because He is carrying it with us.

In your situation that means you do not have to carry all of these what ifs by yourself. The questions about whether students will return, which platform is best, whether a trial class will go well, or whether you will have to be involved, and how to manage packing with limited resources, these are real pressures, but they are not yours to solve through worry. The same is true for the deeper concerns for your father and mother. God sees their physical and emotional needs and He cares for your family's daily provision.

Scripture encourages us to cast our burden on the Lord and He will sustain us, and to cast all our cares on Him because He cares for you. That is something you can do in prayer, honestly telling Him each concern and then leaving it in His hands, trusting His power and goodness rather than staying focused on the weight of the problem. As you look to Him, He can give confidence, peace and rest even while the circumstances are still unresolved.

I am praying for you and your family. I am asking the Lord to provide for your daily needs, including food, and to give wisdom for your mother's work decisions and strength for any trial classes she faces. I am asking Him to bring healing and comfort to your father in his sickness and to your mother in her arm pain and in her mind, bringing peace and steadiness. I am asking Him to guide you in the practical details of packing and returning home, and to quiet your heart with the assurance that He knows even the small concerns you carry. May you find rest as you bring every care to Jesus and trust Him to care for you and your family.
