Please pray for me about my manager at work. My previous manager left the job recently. She was very responsive and helpful but my new temporary manager is not as responsive and I don't feel as supported. My job is very stressful and good support is necessary. Please pray for me about this. My team is supposed to eventually transfer to different management, we have just been split into different temproary managers for now. Thank you.

First, we must acknowledge that God is sovereign over every detail of our lives, including our workplaces. Proverbs 21:1 reminds us, "The king’s heart is in Yahweh’s hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires." Even though your manager may not be as responsive as you’d like, God can soften their heart and direct their actions according to His will. We also recognize that work can be stressful, but Scripture encourages us in Colossians 3:23-24, "And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ."
We must also guard our hearts against frustration or bitterness, as Ephesians 4:26-27 warns, "Be angry, and don’t sin. Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath, and don’t give place to the devil." Instead, let us choose to respond with grace, patience, and a spirit of excellence, trusting that God will use even this season for your good (Romans 8:28).

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this dear one to You, asking for Your peace and provision in their workplace. The work to which you are called is not dependent upon the smile or frown of an earthly manager, but upon the eternal purpose of Him who sent you into that place. Your former supervisor was a pleasant instrument, but instruments change; the Master Workman remains the same. You say your job is stressful and good support is necessary, true enough, but set this necessity in its right order. The support you most need is not the ready response of a supervisor, but the upholding grace of your God. Has He not promised, “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee”? When human props are removed, it is that you may lean harder upon the Divine arm. Consider that even this temporary arrangement is no accident: the Lord has placed you under this new manager for a season, and He has work for you to do there, work which perhaps requires you to look less to man and more to Him. “I must work the works of him that sent me,” said our Master, and you are sent into that office as surely as any missionary is sent to a foreign field. Do not spend your strength fretting over the responsiveness of another; instead, labor with your might as unto the Lord, not unto men. If you throw your whole strength into your task, doing it heartily, you may bring it before God and say, “Establish thou the work of my hands.” He is able to make your way plain and to give you favour even with difficult superiors, or to sustain you in the trial until the change comes.
Remember, too, that the Spirit’s work within you does not make you immune to such pressures, He uses them. The soul-conflict you feel, the breaking of your own comfort, may be the very means by which God does a deeper work in you, and perhaps through you, in that team. If Christ Himself learned obedience by the things which He suffered, shall not we? Do not imagine that ease is the highest good; sanctification is better. And as for the future transfer, leave that in the hands of Him who knows the end from the beginning. Your business is with today: “Go work today in my vineyard.” The night cometh when no man can work; but while it is day, let your chief concern be to do the will of Him that sent you. Cast your burden on the Lord, He will sustain you. He will not fail nor be discouraged until His work in you is complete.

The distress you feel is that affliction of which the Apostle speaks when he commends patience, for wherever he speaks of patience, he of course implies affliction. This is to love God: to endure, and not to be troubled. Your new manager's silence and the weight of your labor form that very hardship in which endurance is formed, for patience works probation, and probation hope. You are not cast away because you feel unsupported; even Peter, when told he would be led where he would not go, learned that the soul unwillingly endures the necessity of the flesh. Nature itself flinches at hardship, yet the will can remain firm.
Look then where your true hope lies. If you hope for that you see not, then do you with patience wait for it. You see a temporary manager and a season of stress, but you do not yet see the transfer your team awaits. What is hope but feeling confidence in things to come? One thing only, hope, He asks of you, that you too may have somewhat of your own to contribute toward your salvation. The very waiting, the daily turning of your heart to God amid the strain, is the light task He crowns, and for this He gives abundant aid. When the just man was in great dangers and saw no human possibility of recovery, he looked up to God, for God, more trustworthy than all, has declared these things. Your manager's help, however responsive, is an uncertain thing; the support that comes from above is not.
Groan, therefore, but look up to God in the groaning. He sends to us not Moses, nor Aaron, but His own Word, and compunction. When that word takes hold of your soul, it frees you from the bitter slavery of anxiety and vain zeal. The Egyptians labored under the lash, and we labor under far sharper scourges of the soul, yet if we call out, He brings us forth. Do not measure your worth or your peace by the responsiveness of any earthly overseer. Their neglect may be the very occasion by which God teaches you to wait for Him alone. As you endure this interval, let the hope of the change to come work its patience in you, and so bear what is present without being troubled, entrusting the outcome to the One who is more trustworthy than all.

Even so, do not be surprised if God is doing something in this season that reaches deeper than the immediate problem.
There is a kind of trial that strips away all the ordinary props we never realized we leaned on so heavily. A responsive manager is a gift, but she is not your ultimate foundation. If you find yourself suddenly feeling exposed and unsupported, it may be that God is gently showing you where your real trust lies. He does not do this to crush you, but to anchor you in something that cannot be taken away. Sometimes the answer we want is a smoother path at work. The answer God gives is a stronger hold on him. The end of the matter, when we let him write it, is always good, even if the middle chapters are full of questions.
Be careful how you interpret the silence or slowness of this temporary manager. We are often tempted, like the friends of Job, to build a whole case against someone and even against ourselves based on incomplete understanding. Job’s friends assumed his suffering proved hidden guilt. That was speaking deceitfully for God. Do not fall into the trap of thinking your stress means you have done something wrong or that God has turned his face away. You may simply be in a hard place that he intends to use, not to punish, but to form something deeper in you. The frustration itself can become a kind of prayer if you bring it honestly before him instead of letting it curdle into bitterness.
Job in his misery longed for a daysman, someone who could lay his hand on both God and man and bridge the awful gap. For Job, that remained a question he could not see answered. We stand on this side of the cross and know that Jesus Christ is exactly that mediator. He touches the throne of heaven and he touches your weakness. He is not a managerial stand-in who might overlook your need or be too busy for you. He is the faithful witness on high, and he vouches for you in ways no earthly supervisor ever could. When your stress rises and the human support seems thin, pour out your complaint not to win an argument but to cast your burden on the One who never slumbers.
It may well be that your team will soon move into a better structure, and I will join you in asking God to open that door quickly. But do not let your peace wait on organizational charts. Seek him now. Feed your soul on his word more earnestly than you chase relief from the pressure. Job learned, when God finally spoke, that the real crisis had never been about property, health, or even friends who misunderstood him. It was about knowing God as he truly is. When Job saw the Lord, he stopped demanding explanations and found his rest. You can do the same. Your workplace is a real battlefield, but your security is not built on how fast an email is returned. It is built on the character of God, who sees, who hears, and who will bring good out of this in his time.
